I was really expecting mine to have the old crotch system and the tinted canopies since they were the unbundled VFs. I guess there were re-releases of the unbundled VFs that came with clear canopies and updated crotches.
Just got my 1/60 v.2 VF-1A Max DYRL type (the one without the Super/Strike Parts)
There's something I noticed with mine. It doesn't have the tinted canopy (yes, mine's clear) and it has the newer crotch similar to that of the 1/48 and other more recent 1/60 v.2.
I just got these two yesterday for free from our Christmas Party with other anime stuff collectors.
I don't really collect LD's but hey I really love Macross 7 so it's really a nice catch for me. I wish I can find the Vol. 2 and 3 too to complete all four volumes for this OVA.
Already order the movie Super/Strike Parts from amiami a few days before I got news of this sale. So now I'm just getting a 1/60 DYRL 1A Max. I could've save more if only I know the bundled one is going on sale at HLJ. Oh well. =D
Some actual product pics...
IMHO it's a good Gerwalk, but Bandai seems to have failed in designing a solid Fast Pack attachment, and what happened to that 1S head and neck?
Just need to see how the durability will go for this toy and I'm good as sold. I'd probably display it in Fighter mode since I have this general rule that anything 1/60 and up should be in Fighter mode as much as possible.
Haven't seen them in stores that much but they're reissuing them with Max and Kakizaki's DYRL 1A's.

They're also releasing weathered version of it.
Here's a slideshow of mine:

When I got mine from the HLJ sale, the hip swing bar was kinda tight I thought that I couldn't pop it off from the nose of the plane. It does help to loosen it out so what it will swing easier in and out of the nose during transformation.
The Monster is really looking nice, I wonder how the other modes will look like.
I'm not into the VF-25F and G though, they kinda lack the details, but the Armored one is looking good.
The reviewer probably folded the right tailfin over the left, the other pics in amiami showed that it was left over right (like Yamato and every other VF toy methinks).
Is it easy to peel off that coating in one swoop when it starts peeling? It's kinda getting me conscious and not want to get a Valkyrie any soon unless it's the 1A TV Max which I would like to display in Battroid mode (where any peeling canopies will be hidden by the heat shield).
