  1. Past hour
  2. I also just got notice on my Kotobukiya Steel Haze. So I guess it's still mostly a case of HLJ having problems fulilling Bandai orders. And maybe a chance of delay with other popular products.
  3. Some from Macross Mecha Guide: https://www.macross2.net/m3/messages/messages-index.html
  4. Today
  5. I don't think this is true, and historically, these kind of forced gimmicks fail. Vidiyo, Hidden Side, Dimensions... The Mario theme is doing okay, I presume, probably due to the popularity of the franchise, and the quality of set designs, and if I had to guess, not at all due to the weird Mario/Luigi figures with the embedded electronics. For instance, I bought this set, but I have no interest in the Mario figure (shown faded out). But even though I don't really like that Mario figure, at least it makes sense. Mario is basically the "smart brick" in these sets, and his expressions and speech change based on the tiles he interacts with. You move him around, he says things and makes faces. That makes sense. But just having a brick, sitting there in a exposed in a weird spot, making primitive noises and flashing? That doesn't really work. What's well integrated in Mario sets is weirdly forced into these Star Wars sets.
  6. Hell Mode started today. It seems to be a typical isekai. But maybe it will surprise me.
  7. Moving on to working on the Walkure shuttle now in order to further add to my stable of civilian craft. For such a simple shape, that nose section is proving surprisingly difficult to get right, but I think I'm starting to get close.
  8. I don't know where to post this. But today is my birthday and my little cousin brought me this Banpresto Sheryl Nome DX figure White & Brownie ver. Which extremely hard to find in Vietnam and I have a photo here to share with everyone Best sister ever ๐Ÿฅฐ
  9. I've never been a big fan of lights or sounds in my toys. It just never mattered to me, and the toys usually suffer concessions for it, especially from the 70s-90s when electronics were much larger, energy burning incandescent light bulbs were the only option, and the toy required a voluminous load of batteries to affect the functions. That said I own a number that have said gimmicks, and every now and again I'll activate them for a quick thrill and to make sure the batteries are still viable. My favorite of these toys is Transformers Animated Ultra Magnus: Jeff Bennett's Robert Stack impression is spot on and his lines, taken nigh verbatim from the show, are still smile-inducing. Second runner up would be Agent Knight with his William Daniels sound-alike delivering KITT's lines, and that pulsing scanner and the whoo-whoo sound effect. Good stuff, that. However, smart bricks aren't the breakthrough innovation I would have asked for, either now or as a wee lad. A family of this, however- that would be game changing.
  10. A good review of the Hi-Mettal R FATTY!
  11. Great job as always @wm cheng!
  12. Oh boy, I spent so many hours on that game in the 80s on my NES. It was a lot of fun for those years
  13. @wm cheng This is such a beautiful build. I really appreciate your posts. You always include so many details about your process. Itโ€™s very inspiring. โœŒ๏ธ
  14. Such a great build! Thatโ€™s my favorite version. Canโ€™t wait to finally ship mine home next month. ๐Ÿคฃ
  15. He seems to have a lot of extra figs for custom painting. Must be all the ones that were supposed to come with the regults. Glad he has the luxury of making all these customs that nobody wants instead of shipping what his customers actually paid for. Unsubscribed, and not buying anything else from KC even if they come out with a Kakizaki fig or a 1/2000 TV SDFM. Get stuffed KC!
  16. Will we see Luke, Leia & Han ones next? lol.
  17. Oh wow these are nice poses. Such fun!
  18. Noooo don't die. I still waiting for Tiny session SD for all other macross series although they looks like model kits quality. Wonder why they cannot add a tiny mini pilot to the cockpit with opening hatch. haha not so much collecting big size robots nowadays. haha
  19. I know that this might not apply to everyone, but I found the Hasegawa Nousjadeul-Ger (Theatrical Version) at Plaza Japan for about $10 cheaper than HLJ. I have used Plaza Japan before and there packaging and shipping are excellent. You have a few days to cancel your pre-order at HLJ before you cannot, if you are interested. 20. @rice_1204 Thank you for the great pictures. I know that setting those up takes time and it is appreciated. Have a great Friday. MB
  21. Off the top of my head, Earthrise Cliffjumper was re-released as a Target exclusive in Studio Series with more cartoon-accurate gray limbs and painted blue opaque windows. If we're being technical, Earthrise Wheeljack and Sideswipe, but as Game edition, not 86
  22. Well, that's even more disconcerting. ๐Ÿคจ Is this a first for "Studio Series," or have other figures from unrelated product lines simply been re-branded SS86? ๐Ÿ˜’
  23. No idea but given the number of shortcuts they took in other areas, it wouldn't surprise me. The wings are on screen for all of about 30 seconds, and feel very much like a last minute add to create some interest during the atmosphere entry scene, so I can't see the animators spending any more time than they absolutely needed to on it. (As a kit basher myself, it's an approach I can fully sympathize with! ๐Ÿ˜‰)
  24. Shots of the completed kit:
  25. This is just my 2 cents but it would be the cherry on top of a huge sundae, what about including a launched armo soldier from one of the bays as an accessory? It would make a static model to breathe life to it. I would be willing to pay if your intention is to make all the capital ships in that diagram unless you've already have done so and I missed out, oh well.
