  2. These FSS designs are so unique. I agree that they have this medieval knight in armor motif vibe. I think that’s a huge draw for me. I am into a BFG and they do appear in the series but prefer the sword and shield armaments for most of these mech.
  3. Robot 4 Less might restock it. I've been a customer of theirs online and at their shop in Fullerton - no complaints whatsoever. Aliexpress has a few vendors selling it as well for a considerably cheaper price, but I haven't dealt with them.
  4. Thanks so much. I know there is a completely transparent armor version, but I like the milky one. I just wish the armor was slightly more transparent so the frame could show through a little more. There are some nice lavender elements that would add more interest to the overall appearance if you could see them. Also the red cockpit. I have been using multi gray Mr weathering oils for my panel lines. I agree it looks too dark and almost black on the light translucent armor and maybe a bit cartoonish. Even after vigorous shaking the particles in it are a little rough which isn’t ideal. What panel liner are you using? That Berlin SR2 is beautiful! I’m currently lining up a few resin kits for spring delivery. I am getting a couple old ones which are recasts since they are impossible to find. One of which is the Neptune like the one you shared awhile back. I think it’s a 1/144 scale? The other is this beauty, the Babiron and is 1/100 scale
  5. First scene in and I'm like... OMG that's the guy from THE LAST STARFIGHTER!! Other than that, the first episode was insane!!

  7. Great review, as always, Mike. I've still not seen this guy in the wild, but as I'm not really a fan of the vanilla toon aesthetic, I wonder if it's for the better should they do a toy-style retool with additional molded details and paint. I'd rather have that over the plain toon styled version. As a cassette bot fan, I'm not really feeling these ones. There are too many compromises and I'm not at all a fan of the partsforming aspect to complete the robot modes. I can understand just the weapons, but when Ravage, who looks more like a bulldog than a lithe panther, has to have his tail pinned on separately, there's something fundamentally wrong. The G1 toys did it better, and that's the reverse of how it should be. As to the cassettes' weapon storage, it's a shame they didn't borrow from the MP toy's solution and hide them in the hollows of the legs. Speaking of which, I'm not at all crazy about their reusing the Netflix Soundwave's backwards leg transformation; they should have followed the G1 toy's schema, again, like the MP. It's a bit disheartening when even the legends scaled figs are getting these things right and doing it better overall. Final nitpick, for now: I wish every version of G1 Soundwave could store his weapons, which should compress into relatively convincing facsimiles of batteries, in his backpack like the G1 toy. The original toy did so much right towards copying RW cassette players and I wish all those salient details were observed in modern iterations. I concur with your observations regarding Thundercracker: he's an upgrade from the WFC, nee Classics, mold, but honestly not really that much of one when you consider all the inaccuracies and hollow areas in fighter. At least TC's heels are proper augmenters instead of the hinged heel flaps on the WFC mold, but I really wish they'd found a way for his big chonky toes to fold into the legs and out of sight in fighter. The WFC solution at least cleaned up the plane mode in a more appealing manner, even if it was inaccurate. I wish his grey chest panels could swivel into the central gap to fill it in and reduce the fighter's profile. It would have been great, too, if his intake ramps were the proper shape and were mounted on double hinges to allow them to be moved back in bot mode for head clearance. The intakes as molded are ridiculously undersized and the wrong angles compared to the real fighter. I'm also disheartened to see the slight angle change of the trailing edge, which the WFC and Classics mold captured, omitted from the wings. Some folding main gear in the knee pads would've been nice, too instead of just resting the ass-end of the plane on his unconcealed toes. The only improvement, really, was to skew the robot aesthetic towards the toon, an aesthetic which doesn't appeal to me. I wish there was more balance to the design, with more attention given to fighter, but at this point, I'm pissing into the wind.
  8. After 9 years, May'n is back in the US for Anime Otapia 2026 (Maryland) https://x.com/mayn_tw/status/2012374179673260209/video/1 Song List (wonder if anyone taped her performance) 1. Belief 2. Northern Cross 3. Scarlet Ballet 4. Get into the Abyssmare 5. Lies Goes On 6. Chase the World 7. Diamond Crevasse
  9. @Papa Rat Your finish is excellent, and it really shows in the new photos. One suggestion for your next build: Try grey panel lines instead of black - it gives a softer, more integrated overall appearance while still emphasizing the subtle details.
  10. @kajnrig I don't know much about AOZ, but the Rehaze was the first image I saw from the reboot years ago.
  11. Any places to get this? The only store I can find is Gundamit. Not that I dislike them, but just I would have expected to see it elsewhere as well. Maybe not USAGS, but at least Gundammodelcenter or whatever its new store is. 1/144 and 23cm, that's pretty big. I'm not super familiar with the AOZ designs, is this thing new to the reboot? From the original?
  12. Thanks; I just told her! Cool! I especially needed them when I split the middle one! O.O
  13. Oh, I have brand new clamps and clothespins on standby; those pylons are screaming they're going to be a total pain... but I am prepared!
  14. Yesterday
  15. That plane is looking ready to soar @electric indigo @Papa Rat That looks more like a piece of medieval art! Glad the BUFF is finally on final. Those decals look nicely settled @derex3592 @505thAirborne Holy cow, that Battlestar is looking good! Looks worlds apart from its simple Monogram origins! Nice find with the Leader-1 @pengbuzz. Really liked that cartoon as a kid, and we know it is in good hands. Enterprise is looking ship-shape too! And so glad the Mrs is home and doing better! Tell her, we all wish her well!
  16. I ordered mine from Nin Nin and it's already on the way
  17. Much appreciated! ❤️Although I had to fight them to release her: they argued that she "wouldn't recover at home", and I argued that she wasn't recovering there. After reviewing her charts and talking to the doctors involved, admin saw it our way and let her come home (where she has been recovering quite well).
  18. The fact that she got released is a good sign. I know there’s always unknowns, but I’m hopeful like a lot of the rest of us here that she’ll have a good recovery and keep the deafening silence away. I wish you and yours some good luck for this new year
  19. Looking REALLY good! One recommendation: use clothespins or some other kind of clip on the pylons while the glue dries: on mine, they kept trying to separate! O.o
  20. UPDATE: 1) Wife is finally home; however, her hemoglobin level is low (medical staff got in trouble for letting it get to that point; still talking with hospital admin over that) and she's taking time to recover. Playing things by ear ATM; building her levels back up slowly (so she doesn't go into shock). At least the house doesn't have that deafening silence that grasped it for nearly all of December. 2) Found this on ebay for a couple of bucks (and I had a coupon for free shipping from the holidays), but the wings were busted: The underside hinge was mangled (particularly on one side), so I had to repair those. Since it was beat to hell anyways, I did some... renovations: I decided to modify it to more closely resemble his smaller, regular Gobot counterpart: Comparison in robot mode: And for anyone wondering.... how Leader-1 compares to our favorite whining psycho- sycophant, G1 Starscream: Third: got the repair decals for the Weefit (thanks Thom!) and got her restored. I also finished painting and did a wash, although it didn't go quite as expected: Still some overly black areas to remove, but doing to much WILL remove paint (had to repaint it a couple of times already!), and trying to cover it with white looks like crap, so may have to just "live with those". Couple of more projects also were donated to me by some kind folks IRL who caught wind of my family's situation. I'll post those in a bit. Stay tuned...
  21. So many awesome builds & projects going on!! A little progress on my GALACTICA. For me, this is the oldest of the Battlestar's being retrofitted/updated for modern service with the Colonial Fleet. Eventually it will have lighting, canons and other extras added. I'm still deciding what to name it, Pacifica, Atlantia, Prometheus...? Not sure how much of the detail I'll ever see inside the landing bays/flight pods (with lighting), but it's nice to know the detail is there.
  22. About now, all of us can relate...
  23. NICE!! BTW: you can see the pre-shading on the craft, it's just a bit more subdued but I think that really works here! Looking really good here man!
