do you have the regular pre-order bonus missiles and how much would they cost after tariffs? Also, what is that gun, is that a flamethrower?

on BBTS's site, it's 225 with a 25 deposit and that's after tariffs. Personally I won't be buying any overseas figures anytime soon because of the tariffs are changing left and right based on ol Trump's attitude. Just isn't worth it since its the consumer who gets the pinch.- 17605 replies

It’s a bit of an investment if you don’t have cash, but if you get a good deal, the actekart no clean airbrush is pretty fun. It’s rechargeable and comes with disposable needles and extra bottles that can either be tossed or cleaned. It sometimes goes on sale at Amazon on prime days

Thanks for the complete rundown here, @mikeszekely! Now I have a better idea of what they're working with here. -
Lol yeah; this prevented me from doing much the past 2 weeks (other than cursing out the oil fryer). Too bad there wasn't an option to make it extendable. That being said: I usually make my own stands out of a block or plate of wood (old wooden cigar boxes work well for this, as do wood pieces from Hobby Lobby) and some heavy aluminum rods (old political signs work well for this, as they have heavy "wire" frames that pull out of them. I simply paint the stand black and this hides the metal post. I think that might give you the height you need to mount your model. On another note: I was considering something like this, but money is an issue for me. I would like perhaps a regular airbrush compressor (I like doing airbrush stuff but the air cans get expensive!), as I miss being able to do custom colors, weathering and whatnot. But it looks like a decent one is going to be outside of what I can afford (40-50 dollars max here; even models are becoming a problem for me to buy, (thanks to inflation!). Suggestions, folks?

Fully agree, Kawamori's creativity and variety has kept me here for...well, more years than I care to think about. 😉 Your reasoning makes good sense, though I'm not sure the designs actually reflect their intended use so much as whatever cool idea they had at the moment. For all my nit picking, I won't argue that they're all very cool. Tangent: went to the aviation museum today to see an actual Corsair (along with a bunch of other very cool ladies). My color picks weren't too far off, though as PBS might note, no giant red highlights! 😁 (One very cool note, this is a working museum. All of these planes are operational and flown regularly, even the DeHaviland. They just obtained a C-46 and have just started restoring it, very neat to see).

Since it will be a good year until season 5 of THE BEAR, we stretched it out and finally finished season 4 last night. I loved everything about this season; the Wedding episode was top tier, and the acting & script did not disappoint IMO throughout the season. But of the all the scenes that brought a tear to my eye for sure, and I swear I even clapped, was when Carmy was in his old room and you could clearly see a copy of Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain on his nightstand... pure perfection. -

The top of the thigh is diecast (rotational joint at the top), while the remainder is plastic; that said, the rest of the thigh is two pieces that screw together, so it's not the one-piece of the original G1. Here's a pic: And then while putting it back, I found out that I was completely wrong about the overtravel and flexing forward: At first I thought "$#1T, I broke it!!", until I realized it wasn't flopping or wobbling around. With this in mind, there's also the front of the knee, which is indeed a plastic plate that's stationary (inset for engraved "decal) that could well be modified to hinge forward and allow more forward motion on the knee if they chose. It wouldn't be unreasonable, given that they also modified the back of the calf/ lower leg on ML:UM. I would like to see someone do a third party back cover for the figure though, to cover over at least the cab. We'll have to see.- 17605 replies

😂 wow but seriously it’s looking way better.

Thanks so much! There are two options when building and installing the lower radar. One allows for clearance while on the ground while the other is in a lower position “extended” which dips down below the level of the wheels. I prefer the later version with it extended so I need to get it off the ground.

Are you telling me Xenomorphs are blue-collar?

Well, progress on my latest project: The first is when I first burned my arm; the second is a few minutes ago. I guess I got the "mottling" down... just needs decals and some dullcote.

This is the best reproduction of the dynamic pose. I am also interested in the kit.

NGL, the more I think about it the more I think Guy Fieri over Gordon Ramsay for that... After all, the Xenomorph isn't usually found dining on fresh high-quality white collar executives in a posh and spotlessly clean establishment. It's frequenting the grungy, grimy, hasn't-seen-a-mop-and-bucket-in-living-memory working spaceships and factories and enthusiastically consuming a diet of cheap, greasy, frozen-and-reheated blue collar working stiffs. Alien movies from the creature's perspective aren't Master Chef or even Kitchen Nightmares... it's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. 😆

There’s actually been a couple of bands that came up recently that people supported and bought albums from that turned out to be just ai. It’s getting really sneaky these days and definitely harder to tell the fakes on certain ones versus images and videos that are still rough. But pretty soon, I’d expect to see some videos that will be very convincing

Yeah, I saw someone utilizing ChatGPT to create a few songs about some folks/buddies, using just a handful of descriptions and a song genre suggestion. Kinda crazy how quickly it came up with something. And three out of the four “songs” were actually not too shabby. 😳

That's looking amazing too!!! Nice subtle mottling underneath that super smooth paint job!

WOW!!! That turned out absolutely amazing. Congrats, looks so good. Why would you need a stand if its on wheels?

I’m finding the easiest way to align pieces “that will never align” on these old kits is to simply just lay down some .3mm on top and move on. Been thinking ahead about color on this. I always see the VF-1S in a bright white and I may stick with that, but what if I do a rich red undercoat and see what happens? A cool blue would make more sense but why play it safe. Hahah We will find out when this puppy gets into the spray booth.
