  4. Today
  5. Where are you going? When are you coming home? orguss primed!
  6. Yeah I’m really enjoying the super simple build. Having fun and it looks like it might stand taller than I had expected. The rest fit is almost complete
  7. I still drive by an old spot that used to be my favorite hobby shop because they would get old school kits from Macross and Dougram and Mospeada and a bunch of other cool stuff I had never seen before. I think it’s unfortunately just a nail salon now, but I still look over to that spot and have my memories of how cool the place used to be back in the day.
  8. When you wish wave did a Spartan in 1/72, but double checked and it’s not even in the pipeline. Honestly I’ve always thought that for such an old kit that it looks pretty good. When I was younger I could only find the smaller 1/100 Arii and while being a little scrawny, it was actually more fun than I expected.
  9. I’m pretty sure that if this ever does make it into the courts that it will get dragged out for so long that the apps will already have merged long before a decision is ever made. I think they were planning on totally sunsetting whatever HBO is nowadays and pretty sure to keep release dates on track that things will already be rolling before fall if not sooner. We already know the big roadblock legally to the Netflix merger is happy right now about this The bigger question is if Paramount will be able to bring in the subscribers since if the HBO app is sunset then everyone has to resubscribe to the new service? I know people love their game of thrones, but are they gonna rush over to the new platform right away? Might be a lot of people not wanting to go through the hassle. Then again, Supergirl might be the greatest movie of the decade and everyone scrambles to pick up that subscription. I think that the decision of the public will be the deciding factor of wether this all ends up a financial success or a total failure
  10. I do feel like there were a few good moments here and there. And the Mandarin was definitely the best thing going for the show, but in comparison I think Barry did a much better job of the inside Hollywood thing. Not necessarily for realism, but more for entertainment. I never felt bored with Barry, while Wonderman was really really dull. I think cutting the show into a two to two and a half hour movie still would’ve had enough time to show all the good and trim out everything that really wasn’t necessary and could’ve been a really good little streaming movie.
  11. I think a lot of fans miss the days when Takara independently released their own versions of main line toys with better paint apps, more accurate accessories, and sometimes even slight retoolings to bring the figures closer to toy or toon accuracy. Hasbro's move to "unify" the brand, essentially asserting more control over it and wresting some of Takara's, was purely self-serving, as they knew they were losing money to Takara b/c fans wanted better versions of the toys and were willing to both pay more for them and endure longer waits for shipping. It simply assured they could continue their practice of shrinking budgets and thus quality of the toys without competition from their partner company who actually designed the things and without whom there'd be no toys. It was dick move and a slap in Takara's face if you ask me, but at least they're finding work-arounds and doing their own independent stuff, which is, of course gaining attention and increased profits for Takara. Good for them. This clinched it for me and I went ahead and canxed my PO. It's just not a good take. I was going to skip it initially, anyway, but as G1 Astrotrain is my only official toy, I thought I'd give this thing a chance in-hand. I didn't like the Siege toy for all of its alt mode compromises (the bot mode, like Blitzwing's, looked great), and this one has far too many compromises to both its bot and shuttle modes. I wish, like Shockwave, they'd just done some serious retooling of the Siege toy to address its glaring deficiencies. I'd have happily paid $60 for that. Heck, if they'd upgraded it to commander to account for all the retooling and accessories, especially his toy accurate gun, I'd have paid it for an Astrotrain with good-looking alts and a great looking bot mode. Not sure why the designer felt the need to reinvent the wheel with the transformation; it was unnecessary and, well, the results speak for themselves. YMMV, but I decided to speak with my wallet, or in this case a judicious refund. I'll wait for better and hopefully better comes. Really, really wish some third or fourth party would do an upscaled KO version of MFT's Iron Sky to fit with Legacy. Likewise their Blitzwing and Octane. I'm happy with Legacy Sandstorm and SS86 Springer, who is definitely one of, if not the best, triple changers they've ever released, along with T30 Springer.
  12. Any one here have an .str file with english or spanish subs for Macross Plus?
  13. Got this Spartan a couple weeks back from Wiseguys for a good price because of a damaged box. Might slap it together today in a fixed pose and brush paint this sucker later. It’s missing a ton of detail which I may try and add in. Not a sure thing since I’m feeling rather lazy. *Side note the missile bays don’t open which is a head scratcher. Maybe I try and add those in there?
  14. Kind of suspect this will ultimately fall apart when the question of financing is finally raised for real. After all, Paramount Skydance is still dealing with the debt, cashflow, and valuation problems from the merger of Viacom and CBS into Paramount seven years ago. The merger with Skydance and National Amusements was a fiscal desperation move that only made their problems worse as the organization got even more bloated. I'm guessing Paramount intends to back out after making a show of trying and failing to get financing, content in having denied Warner Bros to Netflix. Basically what the muskrat tried to do with Twitter before he got sued and the courts forced him to close the deal.
  15. Story time. Somewhere around 1990, I was at the supermarket in my hometown in California, and on the way out, I saw mother-f***ing MOSPEADA gashapon figures in the gumball machine. I knew how impossible it was to find Robotech anything in 1990, so my jaw dropped. My penniless ass had no way of acquiring these other than begging my mom for some quarters, which she immediately declined. No amount of beseechment moved her. I was so pissed! Those toys would have made my year. I did find that crappy smallest scale transforming Gakken Legioss & Ride Armor set at an import store a few years later. But honestly those were so bad. I preferred the non-transforming gashapon that at least looked good in a single mode. I still, to this day, eye the gumball machines on my way out of the grocery store. I know it's never going to happen, but I can't stop.
  16. Questions like this will only get people banned here.
  17. you know the sad part is I would pay $35 for a 3-pack of official riobot minifigs (1 stick, 1 yellow, 1 houquet) painted in their correct colors so that I could display them on their bikes next to their legiosses (with pilots in them too :p)
  18. Yeah, I know. I was explaining the quintet of photos @sh9000 posted.
  19. Then they’ll never find time to make a Tomahawk
  20. Wow this is amazing! I wish they have a better picture of fighter mode. Either way, supported!!
  21. In the absence of any concrete "Who" news, I present this little... er... Whugget? Doctoid? Whobit?... that is an instant way of telling approximately how old a British person is in the absence of any other information; simply say the title of the show this sketch is from and see if they immediately yell "CRACKERJACK!" [1] back: [1] "Crackerjack" was a long running BBC childrens variety/comedy/quiz show that ran, on and off, literally for decades. British people of a certain edge remember with a certain jealous fondness winners of each episodes competition round being seemingly buried under a pile of highly desirable toys from the period, such as Kenner "Star Wars" AT-AT Walkers and the like...
  22. I guess the main difference is a dude that finds a gundam versus a guy that just totally throws one together with junk.
  23. New pokemons games And at last Pt-Br in the language selection
  24. Yeah going RG as well, I just realized it will be my first ever! IMO Bandai should have placed Patlabor in the HMR line with the same 1/48 scale.
