  2. That X-Wing is INSANE. FACT.
  3. I have experience with this kind of "emergency surgery": you need to get in, but the plastic canna take the strain, kaptain!! Seriously though: one technique I've tried when having to do such surgery on a model with old plastic is to gently warm the plastic first with a hair dryer on low. That gets the plasticizers flowing a bit and should make the plastic somewhat less brittle. Then carefully trace several times along the seams until you're through (alternating between heat and cutting). A slow process, but less risky than hacking it open. Just a suggestion; I don't blame you one bit if you don't want to try for it. Just something to consider...
  4. I was of the same thoughts. I won't touch FT stuff unless it really appeals to me, I'm not a paint/heft/heroic proportions for bots that aren't depicted that way. I will say FT is killing it with the minibots (minus Powerglide and Seaspray v1). I got an XTB Big Load and it was really nice but I already have JinBao with the pants add on and that's good enough for me for the 'bigger' MP size combiners. BUT I'm so f'ing all in on the All-In-One MMC combiners. No extra parts, every thing slots in somewhere in all modes, fun and kinda easy transformations. Once MMC gets to Superion and Menasor I'm probably/most likely going to sell off my current MP ones.
  5. @505thAirborne - Damn man, super bummed to hear that happened to the Galactica build! That has always been in the back of my mind every time I light a kit, but so far...my only two that I have done are still working great. I used brand new (but pretty cheap) LED strip lighting off Amazon and soldered all the connections myself. I turn on and off the Runabout every day at work and so far, so good....over two years in now! Over here today, sunny and 70 degrees so a LOT of priming happened this morning! I airbrushed liquid Vallejo primer thinned down with Tamiya Acrylic Thinner, worked out really well. Tomorrow, we paint ALL the TEXAS parts you see here! "May the odds be ever in your favor!" - πŸ˜‚

  7. @505thAirborne Sorry to hear the lighting may not work out for it. Hopefully you can pull it through. In regards to the earlier post, I have a set of the Admiralty Model Works guns for the '03 Galactica, unopened. If you want them, let me know. Thom

  9. Dang. Too bad you have to do surgery to get to those lights! I don't know what the lights are or how old. But maybe a resistor was needed, based on the power supply? lol. With your new discovery, and now access to all those paints, it's gotta be tough!
  10. Will do some tests with smoe spoons tomorrow, my youngest is having a sleepover tonight and my bench is in the basement which I've been told is off limits, so . . .
  11. Recently scored the Store-LE VF-1J and thought about doing a head-comparo with the Grey-Visor, This is due to my recalling Wotafa's or @jenius reviews stating the Store-LE was of a "cool" tone compared to the "warm" tone of the original. It's a little subtle in the pics, but in person, the Grey-Visor head is just a little wee bit more darker than the Store-LE head.
  12. Blade prototype and Ryu in color hopefully they get someone to do a cooler pose for Ryu next time
  13. Domo Arigato for posting that one.
  14. I really only think I’ve ever heard one song of theirs, but it’s a pretty good song so if they’re a one hit wonder, then they at least made sure that hit left a mark.
  15. I’m curious about how well those paints stick. Let us know how the results go
  16. And apparently, 12 different batteries (one for each section). Hope they have an option to connect them all to one master battery box or something..
  17. God rest your soul, brother. See you out there...
  18. Going to have to hit Kryptonite on the playlist...
  19. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/brad-arnold-3-doors-down-singer-dead-obituary-1235334853/ Thank you for the excellent music used in AMVs during my internet youth. I started listening to the band after seeing the Gohan AMV with the song Kryptonite Godspeed
  20. The should have included it with the sticker sheet from Kaksaki's VF-1, but I don't think think the GBP was announced by then! Oh well next time! πŸ€— You could always get this one and add it!
  21. Why don't we get the sexy lady leg art Bandai?
  22. I. think that this image which was also on the Takatoku box art is more to the original idea of the designers and would say it's cannon! Everything else was an interpretation to sell more models or toys! But honestly I'm Generation X, so as long as it looks great.... I.D.G.A.F! 😱
  23. All parts on the Terror Mirage finally primed and ready. Paint for the armor should arrive today. Sooo excited! I primed and painted most of the frame parts but had to wait on others since I ran out of clips. Lol
  24. Its a good thing I am not a Bayformers of a Eva fan. https://www.taghobby.com/archives/853470
  25. @ChasThats great! Use it or lose it and making your own recipe sounds awesome! @505thAirborneDamn that sucks! I was always curious about what folks do on lighting in models if they stop working. I imagine implementing a hatch for possible repairs may or may not be possible based on the construction. I guess like you said now it’s just an awesome build without lights.
  26. I guess one of the current generation jet fighters of this era.
  27. First pass at a Frontier-style workroid. Both the Frontier and Delta workroids are just the Cheyenne with various amounts of editing, but I was surprised at how much of a Cheyenne they both are. Also surprised at the game modelers, who went ahead and made all the shoulder and back parts even though they're covered by the giant missile launchers and other bits on the actual Cheyenne. They really saved me a lot of time, I just had to delete stuff and make arms for it! Started with the Frontier workroid because it was the least editing, Delta version and textures to come soon (along with the warning lights).
