    I am glad this season is almost over. Lackluster is the best way to describe it. So many of the show I watched will be forgotten in a few days. Summer seems stacked for me.

    It's possible that the pic from Marvelousnews has a typo. The fanstream (with no update from Dan Yun or anyone else from Hasbro) and Preternia say that the War Machine vs Omega Red set goes up in July. In any case I'll see when it goes up. My Target order history shows that the release date for the Psylocke vs Thanos set changed from August to July.

    Wow, I would have expected Juggernaut to be more. Looks like WM/Omega went from July sometime to June. Hopefully nobody wants that one, I like the production artwork and am a big War Machine fan so I do want that version. Also, Target says Psylocke ships July 20th now instead of November like all of the rest have been slated currently.

    This season is drawing to a close, and so too is the parade of forgettable nonsense that was my watch list. Of the twenty or so shows I gave a whirl, I don't think I found a single one besides The Apothecary Diaries that I'd say stood out in a positive way. There were a lot of mediocre shows like The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl, Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive?, and The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows that I'd call "watchable, but forgettable". So forgettable, in fact, that I actually had to look up Brilliant Healer's title because I couldn't ****ing remember it. 😆 Classic★Stars, however... that is easily the worst-written anime series I've seen in years. It's an excuse plot so thin you could be forgiven for missing its existence entirely that's serves only to justify a string of Macross Delta-esque virtual idol performances of j-pop, j-rock, and j-rap arrangements of public domain classical music. The story of Classic★Stars is an incoherent mess. The characters... exist, I guess. The animation is anywhere from passable to iffy. The music that's supposed to be the main attraction, however... well, it runs the gamut from the merely odd and out-of-place-sounding to the kind of bizarre sort of mess you'd expect from a music major's bar bet all the way out to the kind of auditory torture that makes you hope the vengeful ghosts of past classical composers visit the arranger's house A Christmas Carol-style to terrorize them into repentance and an immediate change of career. That this is apparently meant as promotional material for a pre-existing mixed media project is slightly baffling to me.

    They can, but this is the second set of these I bought, and the us symbols on them were wrong; I had to use the last few spares I had that I made up. All of that is gone now. I simply have no desire nor ability to purchase the "accurized" ones off of ebay (not to mention paying 250 dollars in tariffs from china!). And printer ink is ridiculous now. So sadly, this will just sit on the shelf until it crumbles to dust. I've redone this model so many times and nearly had it finished when this fiasco hit; I don't EVER want to build another Tomcat for the rest of my life. I prefer this version:

    Probably not, IMO. The titular character in L. Frank Baum's Ozma of Oz is a woman. Princess Ozma, ruler of the Land of Oz. There's only room for one princess in SMS Skull Platoon, and everyone knows that's Alto. 😜 Ozma Lee's name is probably a reference/homage... but not to L. Frank Baum's Oz series. He's probably named for the titular character in Osamu Tezuka's 1961-1964 sci-fi manga series Ozma Taichou (オズマ隊長, lit. Commanding Officer Ozma). The rest of his unit does insistently refer to him in exactly those terms.

    I've been busy making 3d models from scratch for a small tableop gamemaker. It's been a joy to see stuff I made come to market but it's also pretty much killed my desire to buy most miniatures now that I know how to make and print them from scratch

    UPDATE: just waiting on decals for my TOS Enterprise. Shuttle is nearly done, taking a break from that. Meantime, the 1/48 Top Gun Tomcat Kit is cursed. I applied the decals, then scratched the canopy. Okay, no big deal, protected the decals on the nose and polished the canopy using sanding films I normally do and it came out fine. So I then cleaned up the canopy protection... Managed to wreck the damned decals on the nose AND the wings. I didn't even bother getting mad; I just put the model on the shelf in the closet, closed the door, and started banging my head against a brick wall. I just don't even know now... even giving up doesn't equate to my level of despair on this one. Maverick and Goose must friggin' hate me or something. Not looking for advice or anything; I think I'm beyond that point here. If anyone needs me, I'm going to go find a nice deep coal mine or something to crawl into and take the elevator down. And load 16 tons...

    Su-27 (technically J-16, if we're being pedantic). MiG-27 is a totally different (and far uglier, IMHO) beast.

    Just checked tracking on mine; it's currently in LA, presumably at LAX waiting for transport. I figure it'll reach me around Thursday. Appreciate the pics, man. Having watched a transformation vid for this thing, it's going to be a slow, meticulous process the first time I transform it. Once I get it in bot mode, I probably won't touch it again. I appreciate the engineering that goes into these complex toys and the toys themselves for the wonders that they are, but there's little fun to be had when transforming the majority of them for fear of breaking something, missing a step, or getting it something wrong and fouling the whole process up. The hard part will be deciding whether to keep it in bot mode, or tackle the transformation once again to get it back in jet mode, as I've long wished for a decent MiG-27 transformer and this is so much better than I ever expected it could be. Knowing myself, it'll just stay in bot mode, but the satisfaction of knowing it can be turned into this gorgeous plane will remain and keep me contented.

    So... I have a weird bit of esoterica that's been vexing me and I'm wondering if one of the other contributors here might help. In Macross the Ride, Ukyo Kodachi seems to have indulged himself in giving any reasonably plot-relevant ship or mecha a Meaningful Name. Most of them are reasonably straightforward. The YF-27-3/YF-27-5's name and the name of Wisla & Oder were a bit of a struggle because they're misspelled. The one that's still got me stumped is the Macross Galaxy fleet's Riviera-class resort ship... its name エヴナ is either Evna or Evuna. I cannot find a satisfactory reference, either to a place or story, that fits this one, aside from the Town of Evna from L. Frank Baum's Oz series, which doesn't seem to have thematic relevance. Can anyone think of any places or people (from fiction) named "Evna" or "Evuna"?
