Here's Day 1 review of May'n 20th Anniversary Concert at Pacifico Convention Center, Yokohama 9th May 2025 Sheryl - With You (Parts were taken from Animate review) We were seated on the left side of the concert hall but with the slanting floor, it gave a good view of the stage. There were 3 LCD screens. One on each side and a larger one above the 2 tier stage. Behind it was a diamond shaped steel structure which acts as a backdrop. The main part of the stage (bottom) looks a bit too narrow after packing in the drummer (left), 3 guitarist (center) and a pianist (right). Currently, it’s showing the ‘With You’ logo which is a combination of May’n logo and Sheryl’s. Then Grace and Aya Endo (Sheryl’s VA) engage in a conversation and Frontier’s ‘Prologue F’ began to play. Once the music ended, the Main screen began to show 2009 Lynn Minmay, 2045 Nekki Basara, 2059 ? Sheryl’s logo appeared! Suddenly we see May’n on stage at the top floor and she spoke her Sheryl’s iconic words - Listen to Song!’ Everyone in the audience got up! The scene looked like a field of pink flowers just magically bloomed. She’s dressed similar to Sheryl’s iconic blue military uniform, the same costume she used at the Macross F Revenge Concert 2021 event. We thought she would wear the white costume that was featured in the booklet. The crowd goes wild and you can see she felt really proud and grateful that everyone have come to see her as Sheryl (first time in history the audience is chanting Sheryl and not May’n!) She tries hard to hold back her emotions but we can clearly see it. And the first song is ‘Welcome to My Fanclub’s Night’ began to play. Sheryl’s face appeared on the main screen. It’s been awhile since I heard it performed LIVE. Song No. 2 - Forbidden Elixir. The visuals changed to fit the song. Lots of colorful mosaic pattern. She began to descend to the main stage. Joined there were 2 female dancers. A short break. May’n introduced herself. Today I’m in charge of Sheryl’s songs! For the past 20 years, Sheryl has been a part of me and am grateful for it! So, tonight - no matter where you are sitting, my song will reach you! Don’t take your eyes off me! Song No.3 Sagitarius 9pm Don’t Be Late! The screen start showing clips of Sheryl’s performance in the TV series. This one got the crowd going crazy. At the point of the song, she ran from one side of the stage to other side regardless how narrow the stage was. As the song moves towards it’s end, a picture of Sheryl appeared on the main screen and for a moment it looked like 2 Sheryls but at the same time it’s one of the same. We were waving our light sticks so hard that after returning to our hotel, our bodies were all aching! We couldn’t jump anymore and she didn’t do that high kick during the opening of the song. May’n threw off her cap and jacket for the next song. Songs No. 4 and 6 were also the crowd favorite - What ‘bout my Star and Universal Bunny. Each song is complimented by related images shown on the Main screen - Sheryl’s date with Alto on the former and cogs n gears for the latter. Song No. 5 Gorgeous - she had a little skit where she wore a really big pink hat with large thick rim pink glasses. After Song No. 7 Pink Monsoon, there was a pause. All the musicians left the stage. The audience gave them a standing ovation. May’n wiped the sweat from her face. She then speak to the audience. ‘Live shows are fun but I was nervous, as a fan of Sheryl, I thought what would I want to see?’ Song No. 8 was Aenai Toki (When we can’t meet). Accompanied only by a guitar and piano, pictures of Alto and paper airplanes began to appear on the main screen. It feels like a tribute to Alto. The next few songs were really stirring the heart. Just basic music and her commanding voice. At times May’n looked like in tears. A short break followed and Grace (Inoue Kikuko) and Aya Endo voices came back. May’n came back with a change in costume. She wore a white outfit which looked like female cowboy costume with strings dangling from the whole length of the arm. Song No. 12 is Yousei. The main screen showed the life of Sheryl from when she’s an orphan on the Macross Galaxy, found by Grace and brought to fame. Included are scenes from the Movie version where she met Alto when they were kids. It started at Song No. 15 Ejen Ni (this time I got it right. A previous song Lsolado sounded exactly the same), that the instruments got too loud and drown her vocals. Maybe it’s just on my side of the hall. I asked my friend who was siting further up front and towards the middle - he said it was fine. From Song No.7 to Song 15, most have been slow songs, so you actually feel the time passing slowly which is actually strange in a May’n concert! The pace picked up after Song 16 - Obelisk Song No. 17 Northern Cross! She did the movie version of the song where it starts with just her raw voice. It was full of emotions and when she completed the first verse, she had tears running down her face! She forcefully wiped it off and fling the droplet aside! Then the main theme played and we’re in for a really good time! The lights stick turned red and followed her every move. The stage practically burst into flames as carefully placed pipes began shooting flames into the air as 'Sheryl' and her 2 dancers do the Northern Cross sign. Next is the only song from ‘The Labyrinth of Time - extension from the 2nd Frontier Movie - Sacrifice. Scenes from the mini episode began to play on the main screen. Ranka’s voice can be heard in the background. After the song ended, the stage goes black. The audience clapped and started chanting ‘Sheryl! Sheryl! Sheryl!’. This went on for 3-5 minutes which is very strange. But no one can see what is going on as the stage is pitch black. There was a very dim orange light shining from above. The audience began to tire, the chanting faded and they began to sit down. Then light returned and everyone was excited and stood up again. May’n was wearing a kind of white gown (slipped on top of her white dress) walked up to the top of the stage and presented Sheryl’s fold quartz ear ring with her right hand. She then put it on and right ear. The Main LCD screen began to show multiple fold quartz ear rings swaying like a chandelier in the wind. Her most iconic song plays - Diamond Crevasse! The floor blossomed with PINK light sticks and moved in unison with the song. Scenes from Frontier began to play, including the dreaded scene which Micheal dies. After decades, this song and scene still bring a moment of sadness to the heart. Just hauntingly Beautiful. May’n/Sheryl have been singing at a low to mid range. I suppose it makes sense not to exert too much especially with high notes. Every song during this concert was PITCH PERFECT! What an achievement! Just before the encore, she comes out and engaged with the audience. She asked the audience if they noticed that she has only one fold quartz ear ring? The camera zoomed on her face. I thought I heard she said because Alto lost one of them during a mission (episode 7 TV series). Everyone laughed. This caused me to think of that long pause. Maybe something happen to the ear ring in the dark? Or May’n had trouble putting on that covering gown in the dark. I guess we’ll never know! She thanked everyone and left the stage with the musicians and dancers. The stage goes dark and the Logo appeared on all 3 screens. One thing about this venue I didn’t like was the restroom were all the way on the ground floor and you have to use the stairs! A short time later everyone returned and May’n is wearing shorts and the white T with the both their pictures on it. She tells the audience that she’s always nervous before a LIVE show but this time she’s nervous for a whole week! She had asked the VA for both Grace (Inoue Kikuko) and Sheryl (Aya Endo) to help out. She also touches on her past- she started out at 15 years old (2005) and was introduced to Sheryl in 2007 and she’s been delivering music with Sheryl for the past 20 years! The 2 day concert is to thank everyone’s support for the past 20 years and she hopes that she’s still be singing by 2059! A short intro into upcoming projects on screen including May’n symphonic concert, Twenty/Next and The Best of May’n For Encore, she decided to sing ‘Gira Gira Summer’. It was a happy number and everyone waved away their worries. At the end of it, May’n promises to keep Sheryl alive through her songs! Aya Endo’s voice replied ‘Will you keep singing with me?’ May’n replied ‘With You! (Always) The crowd cheered and clapped loudly! That was the last song. Missing was LION which in my opinion would have been a real awesome ending piece and the audience would have really gone all out. Maybe she had sang that too many times before this event. In true May’n fashion, she introduced her 2 female dancers, musicians (a female pianist!) the LIVE audience! and vocal (that’s May’n of course). They then hold hands and she shouted at the top of her voice - Arigato Gozaimasta! All the musicians and dancers left the stage, May’n stood on the stage alone. We were all still standing and clapping. She then proceed to the left side of the stage and thanked everybody section by section (left to right) and then the 2nd floor and 3rd floor. She really took the time to look through the crowd and personally thank them! This took like 10 or more minutes. It’s these little things that she does that make you want to root for her. Finally she takes a long bow (at a 120 degree angle!) and everyone just got back up and clapped again. She waved to everyone and left the stage with a big grateful grin. It’s only when the photos were published after the 2nd day concert that we found out that Aya Endo, Inuoe Kikuko, Megumi Nakajima (Ranka), Fukuyama (Basara), 4 members of Walkure and Shoji Kawamori (Mecha/Director) attended the concert! Song list 1. Welcome to My Fan Club’s Night 2. Forbidden Exlixir 3. Don’t Be late 4. What ‘ bout my Star 5. Georgeous 6. Universal Bunny 7. Pink Monsoon 8. Aenai Toki (When we can’t meet) 9. Tenshi ni Natta (I became an Angel) 10. Funanori 11. Liebe - phantom light 12. Yousei 13. Lsolado 14. Infinity 15. Ejen ni 16. Obelisk 17. Northern Cross 18. Sacrifice 19. Diamond Crevasse 20. Gira-gira Summer

Hmmm. Well, I'm guessing this is only the start of more to come. Fortunately, I already have the majority of the G1 characters, especially first season, that I want so I'm really in no hurry for what's coming out now. I am a little excited to finish off Devy, and I'm anticipating the rest of the Combaticons, but I'm patient. They'll come eventually; we'll just have to wait longer it seems.- 17172 replies

While not explicit, the poor animation depicts a sort of framework for the limb bots to attach to. And Soundwave transforms and flies off as a tape recorder next to Starscream in his jet mode. Crazy stuff in this old show.- 17172 replies

But, there's nothing toon-accurate about an exoskeletal gestalt frame that combiners merely attach to... 🤔 ...is there?- 17172 replies

My Rei and Asuka sofubi figures are coming along. I used dark blue pastel chalk to do the recessed areas of Rei's hair and an acrylic goache mix of burnt umber and red to do Asuka's hair. Then I did a flat clear coat of V-Color to seal them in. I think I'm ready for assembly now.

Sources tell me that Silverbolt arrived at port in the States in... I can't remember if it was late February or early March. Before the Trypticon reissue, in any case, which you might have noticed is in stock at both Pulse and Gamestop. I'm not saying that the issue is definitely tariffs, but it's definitely not a factory issue. Silverbolt left the factory, sailed across the ocean, and made it to the States. Whether they're now sitting in a container on a ship/at port that hasn't been unloaded or sitting in some Hasbro warehouse waiting for distribution I couldn't say, but the kink is definitely somewhere between arrival in the US and distribution to retailers.- 17172 replies

Seems like twitter did something weird and signed everyone off while randomly hiding months of tweets while leaving a sporadic few to be visible between the time skips to people not signed in. I guess these happenings are just another day under their king. Anyway, a bit disappointing the brace is back, but it's expected I guess. Still hoping the joints are tightened like Ozma's though, or that's gonna further nuke the reputation of the mold and design, and kill my chances of having Michael's Tornado even further lol

@pengbuzz - Maaaan those sets of 1/2500 decals for the 7 Enterprises sure do trigger my PTSD! 😂 Thanks for sharing!

Whoa, I wonder what that's all about? Somehow, I doubt that's related to tariffs, but rather factory issues. I think Devy is shaping up nicely. The only real issue I have with the combined mode is the huge superfluous butt flap that only exists to give his similarly superfluous kibble wagon a top cover. Personally, I don't need his kibble to turn into some half-a$$ed trailer; it adds nothing appealing to Long Haul and I'd rather it was just a nice, clean set of hips that I can swap in and out. I was hoping it contributed nothing to the combined mode, but apparently stuff plugs into it, which makes the possibility of just removing it for a cleaner Devastator questionable as to the gestalt's stability thereafter. Guess we'll see. I'm so glad, however, that Devy eschews the frame system that Hasbro is employing on all the other combiners; it just wouldn't have looked right at all, so I'm glad they figured out a way to make it work without that particular crutch. I still wish the bots formed the limbs without the necessity of a huge frame upon which they're merely accoutrement. I'll concede it adds stability; however, that's not how the original toys were, and this is one of those instances where all the liberties taken in the toon weren't necessarily beneficial to future toys. If they can make the Constructicons themselves form limbs, the same should be true for the rest, IMHO, and that would be preferable. Just my $.02- 17172 replies

Not bad. A little taller, but I have the DNA kit on my Menasor anyway. Here's hoping DNA does something for Superion. And that Hasbro actually releases Silverbolt in the States. Lots of people have him in hand overseas now, but Amazon moved my estimated delivery date from April to November.😒- 17172 replies

They used to be on Netflix many years ago, but those along with other greats like Buck Rogers are gone from there. I think I saw Airwolf on Hulu, but not quite sure on it and probably not there anymore. Oddly, the kept perfect strangers and golden girls on Hulu.

Passed on this. My Arcadia 1st release is still in perfect condition and it can use the Reactive Armor. I bought a Yamato 1/60 VF-17S from Mandarake instead.
