MKT Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) Just as I'm warming up more to Max's figure, disaster struck. I was exploring putting him on a sitting pose, so was slowly lifting his left leg up and when I got to around the 50-60 degree range, the thigh separated from the crotch. There was no audible sound or any distinct feel of something snapping, it just suddenly felt loose. One of my biggest reservations on soft good figures, is that it is hard to gauge the range of motion limits since the joints are hidden beneath the fabric. Hence, I was already exercising much more caution than usual when handling Max. I have no idea if the joint itself is broken, or the thigh has a natural separation point via a peg & slot system like some other action figures. It does seem to have pull-down thighs like most other modern figures usually to enable a higher degree of thigh swing. Although the thigh has separated, I am unable to pull the whole limb out from the pant leg to inspect it, because it appears the pant leg has been glued somewhere along the lower leg. So when I pick up the figure now, the entire left leg is like wet noodle just dangling by the pants. The outer box has text saying something along the lines of 'refer to instructions before use', but there is zero literature inside (anyone else can confirm this?). I obtained this from my local toy store, but I contacted KC directly to see what can be done now. Awaiting their response... Edited May 10 by MKT Quote

I’m assuming there’s also no way to slide the pants down either. Quote

LOL I did try... as far as I could tell, the pants are part of a bodysuit that likely goes up to his neck. I wanted to remove his jacket to see what's going on under, but the belt is in the way & I'm not sure how to remove that. Quote

You may have to see if things just have a simple stitch and try and break that to get to the damaged part, it could be possible that it just slipped out of joint, and may be an easy pop in place. Then redo the stitch. Hopefully things aren’t just glued Quote

At this moment KC has replied acknowledging the issue, and will get back later with more info so hopefully there's a solution from there. Quote

MKT Posted Friday at 04:27 PM Posted Friday at 04:27 PM Yeah I guess the pilot-in-cockpit video KC released not too long ago wasn’t the final painted version. Quote
jvmacross Posted Friday at 04:45 PM Posted Friday at 04:45 PM Looks like KC trolled us on the paint apps for this figure...unless these pics are the trolling pics...lol No idea how we'll be able to receive these figs in the US w/o getting the extra tax added to them upon delivery.... Quote

Where it should be grey, it's purple. Where it should be brown, it's bright red. Where it should be dull lavender, it's hot pink! Cyrus must be colorblind. 🙄 Quote
sh9000 Posted Saturday at 01:46 PM Posted Saturday at 01:46 PM Pics of Adam by Hiroshima San. Pics of Adam and the KC store display by Leung Ming. Seems that Adam is colored differently since it's an exclusive. Quote
jvmacross Posted Saturday at 02:56 PM Posted Saturday at 02:56 PM I would much rather have these...they look really good...the metallic paint is not good for this figure.... Quote

Radioguy Posted yesterday at 12:10 PM Posted yesterday at 12:10 PM The lack of Glaug in those pictures is concerning to me. Quote

The Regut Scout is the next one...so not really concerning to me....I'm more concerned on the final cost on all this stuff and the shipping, especially for those who already pre-paid for several items during the Kickstarter... Maybe it can rotate and it just isn't being posed correctly? Either way not really an eyesore to me, I'm more dissapointed in the metallic paint job....it's like KC thinks the customers who PO'd the regult with the pilot back in 2022 are being rewarded with a metallic variant... If it can rotate, it wouldn’t be too bad, but I doubt they could have easily molded the pads to the top and bottom pieces at that small a size. Not saying it couldn’t be done, just that it would take more creative engineering and might limit the bend of the arm. Quote

Surprised that these weren’t first since the brownie in heavy armor is the first one ever shown in the series climbing out of a regult and that type of armor is very common with the regult pilots. jvmacross Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) These look excellent...but I hope the metallic painted figs are the variants and not what was pre-ordered during the Kickstarter.....the heavy armor with the metallic does not look as bad, but still prefer the flat paints... Also...of all things to get creative on.....why pink gun straps? I hope KC can address the shipping situation for US customers soon.... Edited 7 hours ago by jvmacross Quote

They have an odd obsession with metallic paints. Kinda like a child that got into Warhammer and found out there were metallic paints and is still stuck in that “every thing must be metallic” phase. As far as the pink gun strap, that’s like asking why with any of their odd color choices. Why metallic bubble gum on the light armor?, why purple where it’s supposed to be dark grey? Why does the heavy grunt have metallic brown armor instead of greyish tan? There’s so many odd color choices that I’m impressed that Kamjin got away with metallic green instead of yellow or any other random color of the rainbow metallic Quote
