thankheaven
$95 ? Thats way overpriced for what you get with these sets.
GGemini
I added two pieces of styrene, about 3mm by 5mm to either side of the softer grey connector, and now my 25G is almost tough to transform in that area. A "pinch" of about .030 inches tighter makes a huge difference in the amount of bite the connector has... so two pieces of .015 (I used one side .020 and the other side .010) should be enough to do the trick. Others have mentioned using paper, but the card stock I stuck in there seemed to want to fray pretty quickly and ended up not holding well. Alternatively you can remove the connector (one small screw) and coat the outer sides of the "hooks" with a little nail polish/superglue, and reinstall it. Not sure how well it would work though, I'm already happy with my method. Sounds good! Pics please?

PsYcHoDyNaMiX
Follow up to the soft groin syndrome... I was too lazy to make a hook and went with Dio's idea. I used two 0.01" 3x5mm styrene sheets along with crazy glue on both sides of the outer walls of the gray connector and the fit is tighter than new. It's like viagra for the VF-25G! I can hold it horizontally by the groin now and it doesn't come apart at all (even with some shaking, lol).
mitch
I finally decided the other week to take the plunge and applied some super-glue to the outsides of the 'hook' tabs on the male-connector on the crotch assembly and it seems to have helped a bit by giving the spring tabs something more to bite onto (time will tell if this is a long-term solution or if it needs to be re-applied over time), but if someone could post a pic or two of the mod using the styrene sheet that would be awesome. The loose crotch issue is one of my main gripes about what I generally consider to be a good toy, although it lost a lot of marks with me for needing something like this to make it work the way it should out of the box, never mind the hip-armor that seems to be spring-loaded. While I'm off on one, the sound booster kit will probably be a miss with me. 95 bucks for that?! The picture of the painted Ranka looked terrible, although I guess we should have seen that coming after looking at how the VF-25 pilots came out. Get with the program, Bandai! honkhet
as always, a nice and objective review Jenius! by the way found some CF vf-25 pics while re-watching Mac-F its in ep20 just after sheryl starts singing and the CF squadron is sent out to defend the frontier from vajra, while skull squad members are still stuck underground the sms base. we can see the head! its a.... ff95gj
Thanks for the VF-25 CF pics! And it's a 003 too; is it that every squad has 4 units (leader, sniper, scout and mid-ranger), and the numbering is 001, 003, 004 and 007?
Javabean
I hv been wondering how the CF head looks like? So its same as VF-25G. Saw Todd77's previous wings comparison on the Alto reissue. Just got my Alto reissue fm HLJ & here's my comparisons. The wings still crank up a bit but not as much as the VF-25G, i muz say it looks at least better now. Definitely not as dark as the Olive Drab that Yamato uses for its Destroid recolours. But I agree-- a CF VF-25 would look great!

But I agree-- a CF VF-25 would look great! You're right, maybe even more of a Foliage Green (which is a more modern version of Olive Drab). Foliage: OD: Not the best of pictures, but Foliage is a bit lighter colored than OD. OD also has more brown overtones. whitestar
Are anime-export good? I have never used them. I may be the only one here, but I tried ordering through Anime-Export and could never get a payment request from them. When I contacted someone at AE via email to let them know of my problems on their website, they asked if I received a payment request. I asked if the payment request was either sent to my email or appeared as a status update on my account information page (of which neither happened). Never got a reply back from them (probably Golden Week-related???) I buckled and bought my VF-25g through ebay. Not slamming on Anime-Export, since so many members have had great experiences with them. I'll try them again on my next valk purchase.

I bought DYRL DVD from some online shop once but it never arrived and they never returned my emails. Unfortunately I forget what shop it was, something I have never seen again so probably some scam artist. Anyway it is good to find more competition online to shop for the best prices. Maybe I will give AE a shot sometime if they have the right price.

Not as cheap as Overdrive but Overdrive's stock level seems low on certain items, so if you see something you like on their website, get it quick. I would definitely give AE a try. My problem may have been technical in nature and they may have been in the middle of fixing it, but I couldn't wait anymore so I canceled my order. Getting back to the DX, does anyone know if the tampo paint rubs off easily on the VF-25g or the reissued Alto and its super parts? Love, love, love the RVF but the tampo paint rubbing off of the leg armor irks me to no end.

Once you've paid and your payment status has been cleared (may take some time), the payment link in the payment request email should bring you to a page in Anime-Export telling you that the payment has already been made or the order has been canceled. For me at least, that is how I determine the status of my order. On the order's or basket page, the status will remain as "standing" until the order is shipped or canceled. PsYcHoDyNaMiX
Sorry to kill your hopes on the VF-25g, but yes the tampo rubs off or scratches very easily. Can't confirm on the reissued Alto since AE hasn't sent me a shipping notice yet. Funny... I preordered and paid about a week before their preorder cut-off deadline. Somehow others were able to get theirs sent before they (AE) went on vacation. Plus, their reissue Alto stock is currently out/backordered... figured they would've sent an out of stock, or "sorry we couldn't fill all orders which includes yours" kind of a notice. ***EDIT*** AE order status: Standing Edited May 5, 2009 by PsYcHoDyNaMiX

I also ordered before the deadline from them but I got mine last week. Edit: If I remember correctly, they've pushed back the pre-order deadline at least once. I made my pre-order before the very first deadline, which was much earlier than the 2009-04-15 deadline it is showing now. There may have been a technical issue that prevented the payment request to be sent to my email address. I'll try again when the opportunity to buy another valk presents itself. Thanks for the tutorial, it'll be handy the next time!

I'll shut up about tampo printing rubbing off, going forward. I just hate that so much money is spent on a toy and the paint rubs off easily, of all things. The same can be said about the GFF Metal Composite Zeta Plus Gundam; the tampo paint rubbed off from the chest very easily. Okay, officially shutting up about it...now.
