Shun
How did that Nose art ever get on the monster with out casuing Ozma to send the entire Monster's maintence crew to the hospital? Where's Ozma in all this? Somehow I'd expect him to loose his mind with nose art like that.... It turns on and off based on where a certain VF-25S is at any given time. (I wouldn't want to be the guy to explain to Ozma that it was me who 'painted' that nose art of Ranka!) Ok now I've got the idea in my head of two guy standing on the deck of the Quarter, one with a pair of binoculars and the other with a remote going "Off." "He's clear, quick back on." "OFF OFF OFF, aww we're dead." holograms....
azrael
- I dont think it was ever mentioned before that the Battle 7 was not able to fire in Carrier mode? Max is just a show-off, we all know how he likes robot modes yeah? Well he was the best pilot in a fighter or Battroid, you know. Of course he's gonna show off. But firing the big gun then executing a fleet-wide fold probably requires some power from the fleet. So it was probably best NOT to separate. Tactical screen caps: - Size comparisons: Macross Quarter vs Battle Frontier "Objects on your display are smaller than they appear." Luca is probably Leon's bitch for using the experimental fold booster. He's got Frontier's largest and most well-known company by the balls and you don't think he's going to exploit it? sketchley
- Eyecatch: That's the Sagittarius constellation Saint Seiya!!! oopps wrong anime The Frontier fleet is currently in the Sagittarius Arm of our Galaxy (which is in the direction of the constellation of Sagittarius when viewed from Earth). So there's gonna be a Sheryl ver of Aimo -.- "射手座★午後九時Don't be late" = "Sagittarius ★ 9 PM Don't be Late" There's been a connection between Sheryl and Sagittarius since the beginning. Her star sign perhaps?

Zinjo
Not spiritia regeneration, more like it still maintained residual spiritia from the falled Ginga Kujira, that in turn the remaining GK sponged a bit off of, as did the local wild life. If it was a natural regeneration spot, it wouldn't have needed the boost from Basara. But I agree, Dynamite looks like it will tie in with things far more than it originally appeared. I still think the V-Type virus has something to do with a genetic key for controlling PC technology. You might have something there. I still believe the Vajra are remnant PC defenses left over from the Zentreadi uprisings (for lack of a better term) in the post PD war era. They may have been discovered by the 117th, studied and then ultimately exploited by the forces behind Galaxy. When the needed the "key" to control them became apparent, the Cosmo Nature project was initiated. The crystals somehow tie in, but exactly is unclear. Maybe they are a natural product of the V-Virus and Ranka is the only known survivor of the virus?

Her star sign perhaps? yeah... do we have Sheryl's birthday yet? if not, why the emphasis on Sagittarius? just because its the closest spiral arm towards the galactic core? Other than song and location of the story (which isn't really an important aspect of the show) there's really nothing else in the show that warrants such an emphasis (IMO). unlike the show Saint Seiya Alto's elder brother... bringing Sheryl home... wet... needs dry clothes... changing of clothes... xxoo i guess elder bro gets her first Sneaky b* Sheryl Nome? I don't think it was a rush. The new OP also has it romanized as "Noam" when they flash the characters names when they do their freeze-frame GAR poses. So it now begs the question: What is the official romanization now? Edited August 8, 2008 by sdf2501

DeeBot
- Eyecatch: That's the Sagittarius constellation Good catch. I was trying to figure this out, but I couldn't identify which constellation it was with my limited knowledge. sketchley already mentioned that Sagittarius also the name of one of her songs, and that perhaps it's her astrological sign. Comparing what the Sagittarius sign is supposed to mean, I could see how it might fit, at least partly. On the other hand, you can fit anyone to almost any sign, so that's a pretty worthless metaphor. Maybe someone here knows what month she was born? Another possibility that comes to mind is that since Sagittarius was a centaur (half man, half horse), it might have something to do with Sheryl being a hybrid. If it turns out that Sheryl is augmented (either cybernetically or biologically), this may hint at that.

Super Ostrich
Just finished watching Chinese sub: 1. Sheryl demands the answer from Grace why Ranka's song but not her has effect on Vajra. Grace replies that she is just an idol. Sheryl would still lives in slum shall Grace have not pick her up. 2. Sheryl responses that she can live by her own, but Grace reveals the answer that shocks Sheryl: she is dying because of an illness at time being picked up. And the illness is still not cured even though Grace bought her to hospital for treatment. 3. Luca propose Operation Cinderellas Horn to Leon. Leon accepts it but teases him that his motivation is to get self-esteem. Luca is upset about that. 4. Leoh and Howard are working to get approval from Senate for long-distance fold. That is big deal because the government will impose resource ration and suspend commerce for the preparation, which prompt store sell-out and shopping spree. Howard remind Leoh that the true mission objective of Frontier is he seek-out of frontier for new human habitat.. 5. The finding from Klan's friend about "Witch Craft 999" is that it is an antibiotic used to control (but not cure) a blood-transmitted infectious disease. The symptoms of the disease include dizziness, nausea, and vomit. That immediately rings a bell to Michael. 6. Grace told Sheryl to confirm by herself that she is dying, which leads Sheryl to Kan and Michael at library. 7. Ozuma tell alto that military plans to use Ranka as a shield during the long-distance fold and asks him to protect her. After alto left, Ozuma told Canalia that he senses the end of his duty to protect Ranka, and believe that will remember her memory in childhood very soon. 8. When Alto stops Yasoburo at taxi, he told Alto that he will take care Sheryl. He also said that Alto should come to Saotome's residence should he want to visit her. 9. The press conference about long-distance fold was cut short due to Vajra attack that is eariler than expected. Howard orders military to defend Frontier and escort Ranka to safety because Battle Frontier is not yet ready. 10. However military and SMS cannot hold on, in no time Ranka come to the rescue by singing on König Monster. Howard is furious because he fear she is out in danger. Leoh replies that Ranka went out by her own will. 11. Macross Quarter maneuvers the firing of its gun to herd Vajra to the killing zone of Battle Frontier Gun. All vehicles from Frontier are order to retreat to begin fold. Any thing I missed?
VF-25 Messiah
Any thing I missed? Not much, thought i'd add some things from the top of my head 5. The disease in question is the V-type that caused Hydras to go berzerk in the past. It usually doesn't transmit to humans. 7. The reason Ozma feels this is because when he was brought to a near-death situation, Ranka didn't get flashbacks like she had before. 11. The reason they don't just fold straight away is because the fold waves would just allow the Vajra to follow, they have to take all of them out before they fold away. Chronocidal
Thanks for that, clears up a lot. Hmm.. so the 117th. What occurs to me is that there's much more to that incident than we know about yet. I wouldn't put it past Grace to sabotage the whole thing, but I don't know why she would. Her reasons for anything she has done are still pretty vague. Consider this though.. the vajra used Ranka's mother's image to communicate with her, which means the vajra and her mother were probably on good terms in one way or another. Could there have been a falling out among the research team? Dunno how Mao may have been involved, but I get the feeling Ranka's mother and Grace didn't see eye-to-eye. I'm starting to think the Vajra may have been a genetic engineering project via virus (trying to mimic the PC) and that the virus itself is a human creation. Could be that the vajra were discovered as small relatively safe creatures (the one in the tank looks like the queen, but on a much smaller scale), and when it was found out that they produced those crystals, the 117th tried to forcefully evolve them into something like livestock to harvest crystals from, or possibly intelligent creatures that they could control. Obviously the "control" part failed, but I wonder if the infection evolved them into their current state. What I'm thinking is this... Grace may have betrayed the team, and run off with incomplete research on a way to control the monsters they created, while Mao and Ranka's mother may have found the answer after she left, and implanted it into Ranka before Grace's machinations caused the vajra to attack the station. The virus may actually be something that allows the vajra to communicate with humans on a telepathic level. What's funny to me is that the vajra recognize Aimo at all.. think about why they would have even heard it to begin with. Either the vajra in the tank was alive, and heard Ranka's mother singing it (not too likely I think, since you probably wouldn't associate yourself with a captor that way, or have any fond memories of music you heard), or the vajra were Ranshe's pets. She may have actually sung to them at one point or another, while caring for them.. would explain why the queen communicated with Ranka with her image. Btw, that site with the pics from the intro also spawned this awesome bit of ASCII. Edited August 8, 2008 by Chronocidal

Zinjo
The only flaw in the theory about them being gen engineered by humans is where did all their "wonderful toys" come from? These are bio-engineered weaponry that isn't even incorporated into Galaxy's newest fighter. So many questions.... With ep 18 finished, there are still a lot of questions still open and it makes me wonder if the show will only go 25 eps? I am beginning to wonder if they may go to 36 like SDFM....
