  1. Intitially you may ask where the other heroes are, but for the most part its easy to explain why they didn't intervene. Bruce Banner is working for Stark and is trying to avoid hulking out at all costs. Apart from that he's most likely nose deep in research he has no clue what is going on outside the lab. Tony Stark is out of commision as Iron Man for a while ever since the ending of IM3. Thor is most likely off world on Asgard. In fact the humans inability to call Shield in Thor 2 might mean that film takes place shortly after Winter Soldier. So where the heck is Hawkeye and War Machine/Iron Patsy? That's what I want to know.
  2. Lets see I rank tonight's WRESTLEMANIA a.... F- Diva battle Royal was crap double D+ WWE championship B+
  3. Coffin Princess Chaika is what I'm looking forward to. Same original creator, studio, and director as Scrapped Princess.
  4. I just finished watching A Woman Called Fujiko Mine, and it was pretty good. I'm very impressed by the retro style of the animation. The cast was interesting with a different more hard boiled film noir take on all the familiar characters. The plot itself does get a bit trippy at times almost to the point of making me wonder if the entire series was just a drug induced hallucination of one of the characters, but in the end everything pretty much made sense. I'm really left with just one question...
  5. Personally I'd just prefer Kawamori to go back to being just a mecha designer for Macross and let someone else direct and write for this new project. I know it won't happen though because it would be too much of hit to his prestige and ego. The thing is most Kawamori led projects tend to get bogged down with annoying characters, repetitive plots, and a liberal spicing of new age mystical bullcrap that ends up being the deus ex machina for the entire show. I know my opinion isn't that popular and some one will throw Mac Plus up in my face, but that is really the exception To his works. People also tend to forget the original show was a combined group effort, not one person bending the project to his will.
  6. I just finished the series, and there is no sugar coating it the mysterious island/africa arc was painful to watch and just god awful. I think next time I watch it I'm just going to skip those episodes. Once the series finally got underway properly again it really hit a high mark. Nadia actually became less of a b**** and started actually developing as a character, in the end I kind of pity her given all that she went through. One thing that surprised me about this series was the massive amount of references and tributes to other scifi and anime in it. Sure you have the obvious stuff like several of Jules Verne's works, but then you have things from Yamato, Macross(captain...Global/Gloval I presume?), Gunbuster, and even the puppet show Thunderbirds. I can also see little bits in this show that laid the groundwork for Evangelion their next show. Still I have to wonder WTF goes on over at Gainax. It seems like they are great at creating concepts and great starts to shows, but then they all have that moment where they go off the deep end and into screwball territory. Sometimes they recover like Nadia other times they leave your screaming at the tv and giving it the finger, like Eva or the more recent Medaka Box Abnormal. About Medaka Box Abnormal... For those that didn't read the spoiler. F*** Medaka Box Abnormal's end, and F*** Gainax for the usual B.S. Now on to A Woman Called Fujiko Mine.
  7. I'm watching Nadia: The Secret Of Blue Water, and as much as I'm enjoying it Nadia is really getting on my nerves. She complains about everything, isn't very endearing, and spends most of her time calling everyone a murder. I don't mind her being a vegitarian, but to flip out at Nemo for shooting a wounded neo atlantian soldier who had already got one shot off at them just pisses me off. Its not like the soldier was unarmed or surrendering, he was actively trying to kill them. Other than that its been a rather enjoyable adventure series.
  8. I agree. While there are some exagerated features of a woman's figure in Hiroki Yagami's work its nowhere near the level of Over Dard, or Masaki Mizuhara. At least the G-Taste figures had a character to them all their own. Its a shame the series creator is focused more on Dear Boys the basketball manga these days than anything else. Then again the recent book+OVA attempt at a revival wasn't well recieved so I can't really blame him for doing what pays the bills.
  9. Okay so they were schools based Finland(yah for at some point declaring war on everybody during the events of WWII), and what I'm guessing would be a sister academy of Oarai?t I also found out by doing some digging on my own that one of the academies shown losing in the opening round montage was based on Poland which I feel bad about because they were using TKS tankettes. A snowball has a better chance in hell than a standard TKS taking out any other type of tank.
  10. I finished the GuP OVA's and I'm a little disapointed with the content. Its mostly just the usual bonus fluff beach day, camping, etc. I did enjoy the ship tour episode that explaned a bit more about the world GuP takes place in. The winter episode with Erwin and the post victory celebration were interesting. On a side note in the ship tour episode they pass a display with plaques from the other schools, but there were a couple I didn't recognize. Any idea who they were? Mio's sisters school was the Iron Cross Pravda was the soviet style logo Anzio was the pizza style logo Saunders was blue shield with star Oarai was the black and blue ribbon St. Glorianna's is the tea cup Marginot with the cannon I'm guessing is the French based school So what were the other two?
  11. Just finished the tv series of Girls Und Panzer and will be moving on to the OVA's next. This was a great series with fun likeable characters, and a rather interesting plot. I especially loved the tank geek stuff. I hope one day it gets another season or series. Just out of curiousity how many of you who have seen this realized the ton of references to Kelly's Heroes the Clint Eastwood film are in this?
  12. Here's what I picked up at anime boston
  13. I've started watching Upotte!! I can't help but enjoy watching it, its so gun geeky! Its so adorable how the girls really are the personification of the weapons they're based on and how those traits/faults shape their personality. I'm also a little surprised by the lack of fanservice(Sako's psycho b**** antics aside) given the thong/skeleton stock jokes. I can see how someone not interested in guns might not like it, but having served and been around firearms all my life this show kinda makes me squee in glee. It also will never make me look at Lord Of War the same ever again, given the fact Nicolas Cage's character in the Upotte universe would be a pimp selling little schoolgirls... eww.
  14. Personally I've been enjoying the wonderland spinoff more than the main show, despite the meh effects.
  15. Dammit VEEF!!! I now have that damn starlfeet x-bomber song stuck in my head!

  17. So thanks to this show I have a new nickname at AnimeBoston... "Sei's dad" You see the last four years there's been a panel workshop called building gundams with overnight security that's early in the morning on sunday the last day of the con. It had originally meant to be a joke by the hosts, they never expected people to show. When people showed up expecting to buy kits to build they had none, so I gave away some extra ones I had won. Ever since I've always resigned myself to bring extra kits for new people to build every year. I always got a kick out of watching the joy on people's faces as they start their first kit. I remember two years ago I got a grandmother to build a Char's Counterattack Jeagan. Lol. This year I had my tool kit with me that I let people borrow which yes had a pair of green handled clippers. I never even thought twice about it untill people were "saying thanks Sei's dad!" If your wondering no I don't get compensated for it, untill this year when one guy practically forced me to take $20 for an HGUC Hi-Zack. I just like gundam kits, and want others to share my love.
  18. I agree, and hearing movie makers say things like "I never read the book, but I have a friend who did and liked it!" and "I wanted people to have an LSD trip without the LSD!" is how we ended up with crap like Starship Troopers and Alien Resurrection.
  19. I'm willing to out on a limb and say roughly 85% of the backers are doing so specifically for Battletech's unseen. Maybe 90-95% if you take into conisderation there are a lot of overlap between battletech and macross/robotech fans like myself. I don't think there is much more than 5% that bought in specifically for macross or robotech to play the game. As far as model complexity, like others have said the newer plastic GamesWorkshop figures aren't much different. The average space marine is about 15 parts, more if you add things like purity ribbons, auspixes, special ornaments, skulls, horns, etc. Truth be told though I have to wonder if the models were designed that way specifically so they can be upsized later in a new scale.
  20. In honor of me homeland and St. Patty's day I present... The fight from Quiet Man Yakety Sax remix!
  21. So many cameos in that episode! EDIT: I totally agree with the sentiment that seeing so many characters alive, happy, and with the ones they love is heartwarming given what we know happens to a lot of them. Its good to know somewhere, and someplace their souls finally found peace and happiness.
  22. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....*hack*...*cough*... ha.
  23. Let me know how you feel 3 hours from now when you really start getting into the game and it just stops with a "To Be Continued..."
  24. Okay what about the photos here? You can clearly see the bundesheer symbol.http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/bundeswehr-forum/bundesheer-modern-austrian-army-125760/
  25. You know, maybe you're right and its not on any tank while you served, but it was in use when Arnold served as a tanker in the Bundesheer which is why its on his tank now. http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/arnold-schwarzenegger-takes-own-personal-tank-spin-000359471.html
