What are you talking about "much worse"? Those figures are freaking adorable!Anyways here's a couple of figures I like. Reiko Hollinger http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=HOB-FIG-3815A&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dreiko+gundam%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 I had bought this Reiko figure once before, but it got damaged in transit, and some UPS A-hole shoved it in one of those yellow bubble envelopes so the hair broke and parts are missing. I'm still pissed about it and I doubt I'll ever see one again given the figures age. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-005054&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dsecretary%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 This other one is really cute, and kinda reminds me of Agent Aika with the outfit, almost like its her sister. I have no clue what series it is from.

I went to see the 300 tonight, and saw the trailer for Godzilla before it. There was something awe inspiring seeing it on the big screen that just doesn't translate to pc screens or mobile phones. It gave me goosebumps and had my heart racing, so I'll be back opening night for Godzilla! It doesn't hurt either my local megaplex is renovating and has installed motorized leather recliners!

Greatest Movie Fights of All-Time
renegadeleader1 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sword Of The Stranger Technically the entire last 30 minutes could fit the bill for greatest movie fights, but here is the final duel of the film, and it is epic. Do not watch if you don't want the ending spoiled. -
That figure would make a great companion to Nyx from Queen's Blade, but I'm not sure they are the same scale. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=HOB-FIG-6812&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dnyx%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D2

And Harlock gets a pass when he flys his space wolf with an eyepatch? Shin from Area 88 with hair covering 2/3rds of his face? Of all the stuff you could be complaining about.

You do understand this is the first time ever Disney studios proper has won an oscar for best animated feature? The other wins they got were soley from Pixar Studios who actually beat out some of Disney's own films on occasion. As far as this year's results? Looking at the other nominations I can live with Frozen winnng with Despicable Me 2 finishing a close 2nd. The Wind Rises even though its the last of Miyazaki's work so far, it isn't that great. It's by no means bad, but compared to the other Ghibli works its just... meh. Now if you excuse I'm going to go watch Castle of Caliostro once I'm finished with Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah that I'm now watching.

How so? It looks pretty good to me, at least its not as bad as the googly eyed version from Son of Godzilla, the version that looks like cookie monster, the 90s version that looks like a fat cat, or the animatronic puppet from the Return of Godzilla that ruined an otherwise good looking suit.Anyways new commercial http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=0Q38lx674Hs

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
renegadeleader1 replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this, but I picked up my first Star Wars novel in 8 years, X-Wing: Mercy Kill by Aaron Allston. The las one was Revenge of the Sith. I had long since given up on the god awful New Jedi Order books long ago, and everything I'd read about the newer stuff turning the books into a giant trainwreck made me shake my head, but I couldn't resist this. Behind Zahn and Stackpole, Allston was one of the best Star Wars novelists who picked up and ran with the X-wing series when Stackpole had other commitments. Wish me luck!!!- 1217 replies

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
renegadeleader1 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks to netflix, I've finally been able to embark on the magnificent journey that is G GUNDAM! SHINING FINNNNNGGGGGGGGGAAAAA! I'm only 5 episodes in and really enjoying it. I have to admit the story has some unique twists like the colonies using the earth as a battleground to decide who rules, and the people still living on earth not wanting them because of the wanton death and destruction they cause. -
I've seen knockoff Thomas the Tank Engine combiner robots from China that look better than that turd.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-02-25/gundam/side-stories-blue-destiny-ps3-remake-promo-streamed Looks like Bandai is re-releasing 5 HD remakes of the Gundam side story games to coincide with the new side story game that's coming out. Included are Blue Destiny, Rise From The Ashes, Zeonic Front, Thoroughbred Encounters In Space missions, and Lost War Chronicles. I hope this makes it to the US shores.- 6945 replies

This may be the first Will Ferrell movie I have ever enjoyed. I think he might actually have a future playing a serious bad guy. Some of the things his character did(despite being a lego) were just plain cold, and he delivered the lines well.

It is way to early to be commenting on "Americanized sentiments & viewpoint", but I take it you would be the type to call the film a travesty if Godzilla spoke with speech bubbles, danced, flew, and had more wrestling moves than the entire roster of WWE Smackdown, because you know that's the Japanese sentiment and viewpoint most often seen with Godzilla. Let me tell you why I have faith in this film. The Director and script writers are big Godzilla fans, they understand the original material, and understand how classic the original film is. This is a labor of love to them which is why I think they will get it right.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
renegadeleader1 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've finished the first season of Polyphonica and it was quite good even if it was very episodic. At first I was a lttle disappointed to find out season 2 was a prequel series, but a few episodes in it seems to be the strongest of the two. One more thing, iis it me or does the ending theme's melody sound a lot like the theme from the 80s Buck Rogers tv show? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ74fi7On6k -
That's Medaka-chan from Medaka Box. I recently watched the first season, and its actually pretty good. Medaka a pretty cool character who goes out of her way to help others, but doesn't let herself get pushed around. She's also confident in her sexuality "I'm not embaressed or ashamed of my body, so deal wth it!"

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
renegadeleader1 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sarcastic jokes about some of the most disturbing hentai ever made aside, I'm about halfway through Polyphonica, and I really like it. The best way I can describe it is if the creators watched ghostbusters and decide to make an anime where instead of capturing ghosts they work along side them to do odd jobs. Toss in some musical instrument based weaponry to provide boosting powers to their spirit partners, and that's what you get.
