  1. Just so you guys know if you ever visit weirs beach in New Hampshire there is an arcade called Funspot that has 400 arcade games including Cobra Command. Its also known as the American Classic Arcade Museum. http://www.classicarcademuseum.org/gamelist.htm Http://www.funspotnh.com
  2. I'm surprised nobody here has caught on that the new Roadbuster is based on the G.I.Joe Vamp. Kinda like the awesome Snowcat from years back. I do like the skyfire, and plan on getting it. In the wake of the SDCC skystriker incident it is interesting to note for me how his paint scheme has been altered to remove the black stripes and his "fast packs" look nothing like they do in across. My biggest complaint is that I would like a vehicle mode based on the tv version also. I have to wonder if a some point when designing it they had maybe a punch/counterpunch design in mind.
  3. Well I did just get done with a marathon of Cool Devices, Demon Beast Resurrection, and Bondage Game.
  4. Not so much that Pacific Rim was released with Robotech in mind, and more if Pacific Rim succeeded then Robotech *might* get shoved through the door and made. What links them is they are both Legendary projects.
  5. Anybody going to anime boston this year? I'm going to be hosting a panel this year and could use some help, especially if you live in Japan. The panel is on ice hockey in Japan, specifically the Asia League and the National team. It would be a big help if anybody could send me photos of the arenas the teams play at, or if possible get a media guide or program from the teams. I tried contacting the teams directly, but the language barrier is a huge issue.
  6. The biggest blasphemy was the lack of a two player mode in the snes version. I did enjoy 2 and 3 though.
  7. I'm just going to leave this priceless gem here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqQWkB0kn9Y
  8. Man the end of that episode felt like a cop out, and fairly hypocritial as well considering how many characters have used overpowered weapons, cheap tactics, and secret weapons to win their matches.
  9. You wanna go all out? Convert it to the Space Carrier Shinano. Would the designation be CVY-03?
  10. Finshed Aquarion... waste of my damn time with a plot that ended up making all the repetitive monster of week battles meaningless. I really REALLY dislike this show and its almost nonexisting/contradicting plot. Hell Ikki Tousen Great Guardians had a deeper, more coherent, and compelling plot than Aquarion, and that show was 95% boobs and crotch shots! Anyways moving on to Polyphonica. It has a good pedigree coming from the original creator of Scrapped Princess. Speaking of which I'm looking forward to the upcoming Casket Princess Chaika which reunites the original creator, director, and Studio(Bones) from ScraPrin. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-02-06/chika-anzai-junji-majima-lead-hitsugi-no-chaika-anime-cast
  11. You aren't missing much, and what you have been is pretty much awful repetitive dreck. The series is 26 episodes long and only in the last 4-5 episodes does any plot development occur. This show would have been better served as a 8-9 episode OVA. Seriously you can watch the first 3-4 episodes and the last 5 and not miss a damn thing plotwise.
  12. You see political talk, I see a facinating subject of military history. Its no different than pointing out the inaccuracies in the hundreds of other movie threads we've had in this forum.
  13. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I've been doing some research into this and I think I have figured things out. The US Army never had integrated units prior to Truman's order with the only colored units allowed to serve pre WWI were the 9th and 10th Cavalry and the 24th and 25th infantry. When the US entered WWI none of those units were allowed to server in europe, but two new colored units were raised; the 92nd and 93rd infantry divisions. General Pershing commander of the American Expeditionary Force initially had control of the 92nd and 93rd. Woodrow Wilson refused to allow those two divisions to serve in the AEF and forced Pershing to place them under French and English command. When WWI ended the units were folded back into US command and stayed there through WWII untill the units became integrated post Truman executive order. Woodrow Wilson's segregation policies focused mostly on the Navy. At any given point prior to the turn of the century the Navy had as much 30% of its manpower as colored. By 1902 the Navy started restricting recruitment of colored sailors and the percentage dropped. When Truman took office he severly cut recruitment even more, and restricted the jobs a colored sailor would be allowed to take, essentially preventing them from taking combat roles or becoming officers. the odd thing about the policies is it didn't prevent colored sailors who were already in combat roles from re-enlisting and keeping their jobs. Mommar it seems we both had a little bit of the truth. Oddly enough in doing all this research I actually came upon a plausible reason for the black guy to be in this film. Come to find out the aformentioned 93rd infantry division was stationed in the Solomon Islands during the war in the pacific. If that Predator film ever gets expanded on it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to cast him as a soldier that got cut off from his own unit.
  14. It seems your right about this, but you have me curious when did the military first integrate and when did Wilson instate his policy? I'm not saying you're lying, its more for my personal betterment. I'm a little pissed at myself for not knowing something like this and I'm having trouble digging up any details.
  15. No. The US military remained segregated since before the civil war by either forming soldiers into colored regiments with white officers or force them into non combatant roles. The first break in this was Eisenhower for lack of reinforcements at the battle of the buldge ordered the colored supply units to be armed and take up positions on the line. Truman officially desegregated the military in 1948 with an executive order and for the first time since the the revolution the Military had integrated units in Korea.
  16. Just some honest critiquing here. The US Military didn't allow racially integrated units in WWII so the black guy is out of place. Predators hunt for sport and for trophies so the vaporizing grenade really isn't a weapon they would use. While its damn good for $500 its kinda disapointing the mandibles didn't move when the predator roared. That's pretty much the money shot for predator films.
  17. With all due respect to the dead how is this considered on topic when the RIP thread for James Avery(Uncle Phil) who also voiced Shredder from TMNT and did voices for Fist Of The North Star was considered "off topic"?
  18. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if she turns out to be a Lady Hamon character and falls in love with Ral.
  19. If you don't mind my asking, but is there anybody on here from/living in Nikkō(Tochigi), Hachinohe(Aomori), Kushiro(Hokkaido), or Tomakomai(Hokkaido)?
  20. Well its been awhile since I posted in this thread, but I've had some spare time to get caught up on some series. Blue Drop- Decent show, but fairly slow moving and at 12 episodes I doubt the story will evolve much. Aquarion- Look I don't really care that Shoji Kawamori had anything to do with this show, it's just plan awful! I'm nearly 20 episodes through it and its been nothing but the same repetitive crap. Same annoying characters with no development, no real explanation of what the hell is really going on, and production values that drop into the gutter at various random points. Damn it I don't know why I'm even continuing this crap other than I've already gone this far I might as well finish. Stupid repetitive garbage. Birdy the Mighty Decode- I really regret not getting into this series sooner, and has been quite the fun little surprise. I like its mix of superhero and sci-fi and its plot really has me guessing what might happen next. I also rewatched Sword Of The Stranger which is possibly the best non Ghibli anime film I have seen. The pacing and how it builds to its climatic showdown is amazing. Speaking of the showdown every fight in this film is lushly animated and flows so smoothly.
  21. So... Who wants to help me fund "This Ain't Robotech Or Macross a XXX Porn Parody"? Good luck suing me or handing out a C&D, thanks to the supreme court the movies are now their own genre.
  22. Well this wouldn't be the first time Mikey wore swim trunks. A couple of the old playmates figures had him dressed like that. I think one had a hawaiian shirt too. Still... f@*$ Michael Bay. EDIT: Yup Sewer Surfer Mikey. There's also a blinged out rapper Mikey from back in the day too.
  23. Yes. So many of those props were made for the movie that when it tanked they were sold off and showed up everywhere from Firefly to Power Rangers to Syfy's original craptacular films, to yes even a porn film.
