  1. I've started watching Upotte!! I can't help but enjoy watching it, its so gun geeky! Its so adorable how the girls really are the personification of the weapons they're based on and how those traits/faults shape their personality. I'm also a little surprised by the lack of fanservice(Sako's psycho b**** antics aside) given the thong/skeleton stock jokes. I can see how someone not interested in guns might not like it, but having served and been around firearms all my life this show kinda makes me squee in glee. It also will never make me look at Lord Of War the same ever again, given the fact Nicolas Cage's character in the Upotte universe would be a pimp selling little schoolgirls... eww.
  2. Personally I've been enjoying the wonderland spinoff more than the main show, despite the meh effects.
  3. Dammit VEEF!!! I now have that damn starlfeet x-bomber song stuck in my head!

  5. So thanks to this show I have a new nickname at AnimeBoston... "Sei's dad" You see the last four years there's been a panel workshop called building gundams with overnight security that's early in the morning on sunday the last day of the con. It had originally meant to be a joke by the hosts, they never expected people to show. When people showed up expecting to buy kits to build they had none, so I gave away some extra ones I had won. Ever since I've always resigned myself to bring extra kits for new people to build every year. I always got a kick out of watching the joy on people's faces as they start their first kit. I remember two years ago I got a grandmother to build a Char's Counterattack Jeagan. Lol. This year I had my tool kit with me that I let people borrow which yes had a pair of green handled clippers. I never even thought twice about it untill people were "saying thanks Sei's dad!" If your wondering no I don't get compensated for it, untill this year when one guy practically forced me to take $20 for an HGUC Hi-Zack. I just like gundam kits, and want others to share my love.
  6. I agree, and hearing movie makers say things like "I never read the book, but I have a friend who did and liked it!" and "I wanted people to have an LSD trip without the LSD!" is how we ended up with crap like Starship Troopers and Alien Resurrection.
  7. I'm willing to out on a limb and say roughly 85% of the backers are doing so specifically for Battletech's unseen. Maybe 90-95% if you take into conisderation there are a lot of overlap between battletech and macross/robotech fans like myself. I don't think there is much more than 5% that bought in specifically for macross or robotech to play the game. As far as model complexity, like others have said the newer plastic GamesWorkshop figures aren't much different. The average space marine is about 15 parts, more if you add things like purity ribbons, auspixes, special ornaments, skulls, horns, etc. Truth be told though I have to wonder if the models were designed that way specifically so they can be upsized later in a new scale.
  8. In honor of me homeland and St. Patty's day I present... The fight from Quiet Man Yakety Sax remix!
  9. So many cameos in that episode! EDIT: I totally agree with the sentiment that seeing so many characters alive, happy, and with the ones they love is heartwarming given what we know happens to a lot of them. Its good to know somewhere, and someplace their souls finally found peace and happiness.
  10. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....*hack*...*cough*... ha.
  11. Let me know how you feel 3 hours from now when you really start getting into the game and it just stops with a "To Be Continued..."
  12. Okay what about the photos here? You can clearly see the bundesheer symbol.http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/bundeswehr-forum/bundesheer-modern-austrian-army-125760/
  13. You know, maybe you're right and its not on any tank while you served, but it was in use when Arnold served as a tanker in the Bundesheer which is why its on his tank now. http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/arnold-schwarzenegger-takes-own-personal-tank-spin-000359471.html
  14. Here is the Austrian Armed Forces official website. Like I said its for all of its military, landstreitkräfte included. http://www.bundesheer.at/
  15. What are you talking about "much worse"? Those figures are freaking adorable!Anyways here's a couple of figures I like. Reiko Hollinger http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=HOB-FIG-3815A&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dreiko+gundam%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 I had bought this Reiko figure once before, but it got damaged in transit, and some UPS A-hole shoved it in one of those yellow bubble envelopes so the hair broke and parts are missing. I'm still pissed about it and I doubt I'll ever see one again given the figures age. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-005054&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dsecretary%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 This other one is really cute, and kinda reminds me of Agent Aika with the outfit, almost like its her sister. I have no clue what series it is from.
  16. I went to see the 300 tonight, and saw the trailer for Godzilla before it. There was something awe inspiring seeing it on the big screen that just doesn't translate to pc screens or mobile phones. It gave me goosebumps and had my heart racing, so I'll be back opening night for Godzilla! It doesn't hurt either my local megaplex is renovating and has installed motorized leather recliners!
  17. Sword Of The Stranger Technically the entire last 30 minutes could fit the bill for greatest movie fights, but here is the final duel of the film, and it is epic. Do not watch if you don't want the ending spoiled.
  18. That figure would make a great companion to Nyx from Queen's Blade, but I'm not sure they are the same scale. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=HOB-FIG-6812&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dnyx%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D2
  19. And Harlock gets a pass when he flys his space wolf with an eyepatch? Shin from Area 88 with hair covering 2/3rds of his face? Of all the stuff you could be complaining about.
  20. You do understand this is the first time ever Disney studios proper has won an oscar for best animated feature? The other wins they got were soley from Pixar Studios who actually beat out some of Disney's own films on occasion. As far as this year's results? Looking at the other nominations I can live with Frozen winnng with Despicable Me 2 finishing a close 2nd. The Wind Rises even though its the last of Miyazaki's work so far, it isn't that great. It's by no means bad, but compared to the other Ghibli works its just... meh. Now if you excuse I'm going to go watch Castle of Caliostro once I'm finished with Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah that I'm now watching.
  21. How so? It looks pretty good to me, at least its not as bad as the googly eyed version from Son of Godzilla, the version that looks like cookie monster, the 90s version that looks like a fat cat, or the animatronic puppet from the Return of Godzilla that ruined an otherwise good looking suit.Anyways new commercial http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=0Q38lx674Hs
  22. I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this, but I picked up my first Star Wars novel in 8 years, X-Wing: Mercy Kill by Aaron Allston. The las one was Revenge of the Sith. I had long since given up on the god awful New Jedi Order books long ago, and everything I'd read about the newer stuff turning the books into a giant trainwreck made me shake my head, but I couldn't resist this. Behind Zahn and Stackpole, Allston was one of the best Star Wars novelists who picked up and ran with the X-wing series when Stackpole had other commitments. Wish me luck!!!
