  1. Both of the VF-1S's that I have, have been picked up for trifles here on the board. You can get one loose, with most of the accessories for under 20 bucks... Though, a complete one, in-box, with all accessories will typically reach about $150.00... Hope this helps.
  2. cool8or, very nice work! Thanks for posting the pics!
  3. My standards are set pretty low I'll admit, but I found my holy grail a few months ago : http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...st&p=495826
  4. Actually, I don't think that anyone explicitly stated that... But you are correct in that there would likely be only one 1S in any give flight group/squadron. My guess is that Hikaru was still flying a VF-1A in that scene.
  5. I just purchased an AutoArt 1:18 automotive model (not Macross, but definitely on-topic), which features extensive tampo printing. The AutoArt website has an interesting description of the process here. Here is a picture of my acquisition, showing the very high level of tampo printing (all markings are tampo printed, not decals):
  6. Pink and yellow. ...oops, wait, we already have a pink and yellow valk on the way. Nevermind.
  7. One of the well-known customs of JMs are to tell really bad jokes. They all do that.
  8. Prepare for the ribbing.
  9. Dang Z, that's nuts! Looks like you're having fun!

    1/100 VF-1D

Very nice JeffQ. I see that you rescribed the panel lines on the chestplate and backplate to appear more VF-1D-like. That's the main thing that has bugged me about that kit. Great work
  11. Quick! We must lure them toward the power lines...! ...er, wall socket!
  12. Ooooh, rockin'. Just placed my preorder for 2 cases Though there were a few minor issues with the first series (I was one of the guys here that had a problem), these are still really very cool valks. Ignorance may be bliss though...
  13. Understood. Just having a little fun...
  14. Congrats on your purchase. If you ever get in trouble with your spouse or partner due to your Yamato spending, just do what we all do... Just blame >EXO<! * repeatedly edited for drunken misspellings
  15. Now there's a hedge, if I've ever heard one Excitedly looking forward to mine.
  16. Well, here's a preliminary list of interesting 1/55 topics and links I've found thus far: Tools & Basic Supplies: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...1&hl=custom http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...3&hl=custom Specific Mods: Thigh-Swivel Mod - Skull-1 Thigh-Swivel Mod - BigF Nose Blister Mod Examples BigF Custom Chunkie Jasonc VT-1 KidKorrupt's Homepage KidKorrupt's Portfolio Jung's Homepage Skull-1 VT-1 Skull-1 1J "Harriska" I'm interested in compiling more of the 'how-to' type articles; if any one knows of any, please post them
  17. Thanks for the comments guys. The 'swivel-thigh' thread in Skull-1s sig is great. Lots of good info there. Pity that there is not a centralized list to keep track of all the great threads that have been posted on this subject... Maybe I'll spend some quality time and compile one myself.
  18. Not at all. That's the beautiful part.
  19. Actually, more like the magic of the entire series ...And I agree, Keith's casting has definite potential. Walken and Campell, great stuff.
  20. I theorize a complete and utter lack of Hikaru's magic bicycle.

    stop motion

Hey Matt, good to see you back here. I would love to see any new updates to your animation. Please keep us posted.
  22. ....So, If I had a couple of 1/55s that I wanted to improve, where would you fellas recommend I start with mods? Is there a 1/55 mod master-thread anywhere?
  23. You slightly contradicted yourself there, but it's not a big deal. We're not trying to engage in a nerdly argument or anything - we're all friends here. The fact of the matter is that the basic "A" and "D" airframes do differ. It is entirely possible to build a functional and correct transforming VF-1D, as your link shows, but Gundamhead and NMB4Macross's comments stand - you are not going to build one on an "A" airframe. The relevance of this to the VEFR-1 is that the original model kit DID use the basic "A" airframe, hence its oddball nature. That is all. Totoro, thanks for the image uploads - very cool stuff!
  24. One of my two VF-1A Hikarus shows yellowing, just as Jenius has described (landing gear doors, screw covers, hands). Of course, with my luck, it is the "MIB" one with no stickers applied, while the stickered "display" unit shows no yellowing. Both were bought second-hand here on the board. Haven't noticed any yellowing on any of the other 1/60s (have about 20 of 'em).
  25. For some reason, every time I hear that guy's voice, I'm reminded of Batman.
