Actually, that's a dig at Yamato, but you're right - it might equally well be a reference to WAVE. Actually, I thought that the griping about the Yamato VF-0A CF and Shin releases were pretty daft, but nevermind that :waits for WAVE SDF-1 Recolor preorder:

MT, thanks for the update(s)! Working out mechanical drive systems really is a lot of fun, as you seem to well know. It might seem like work to some, but I know your secret . I've really enjoyed seeing the progression of your project, particularly in all of the little engineering details, trials and tribulations. Keep the updates coming!

The computer and electronics super geek superthread...

Yeah, funny, that. Myself personally, my decade-old HP 820CXi inkjet does everything I ask of it with aplomb. Daqng thing still hasn't kicked the bucket. -
Diluted isopropyl acolhol and a cotton rag work well. A weekly treatment with a feather duster will prevent a big buildup from accumulating too. *edit - I should mention that the 1/60 VF-1S was always a bit more gray in color, the 1A Hikaru was always a bit more bright white, and the 1A Max was slightly less bright white to begin with *

They would then nearly double their hypothetical sales by subsequently re-releasing the "anime-accurate" recolors

I'd love to see that too... They could set it up as if Michael had fallen into meth addiction, living in the Two Thousand down by the river. There would be baling wire and primered Bondo repairs, mismatching wheels, and KITT himself could be suicidally depressed ala Marvin from THHGTTG. Now that would be entertaining. More likely though, that Michael would have taken over Devin's place at the foundation, and will be driving a Mercedes SL. Hopefully, an SLK

Actually, the need to deal with foreign [read: Chinese National] manufacturers is really pretty prevalent today in almost any industry, though it is surprising that a company like Aoshima should run afoul of issues like this. You really would think that they would know better.

Now, THAT would be a true return to form I will probably pass on this one for various reasons. Pity that Yamato doesn't do any Space Gandam toys.

Verrr nice. The 1D is great, but that VR is sublime. Congrats!

Current totals for me: 1/48 = 5 1/60 = 23 1/72 = 1 ...Plus one 1st ed. Garland

Wow, beautiful. Thanks so much for posting those, Akim. And thanks also to Totoro for his previous pics

Yeah, I hear you there and can sympathize... I never cancel orders, on the basis that it is not fair to vendors to do so, but this one has had me seriously thinking of doing so. 'Tis already paid for though...

I love the Cosmo. I think that one belongs to Jay Leno.

I dislike that SL intensely. It's been at SEMA for the past couple of years... always funny to see people's reactions as they walk past it - most are scowls and "yuck" faces

Today was official release day for Crysis in the US. Ran out and picked up my copy this afternoon, and have been playing since. It's a fantastic game, and it scales well enough even to play on my older single-core P4 system. Anybody else playing? -
The Megahouse toy looks best in armor mode. The sculpt and detailing in this mode look pretty nice. The bike mode, however, leaves quite a bit to be desired in my book. The front fairing, shocks, and windscreen are just all wrong. The 'tank' area looks wrong because the fairing isn't deep enough to shroud it, and I'm not too fond of the cage assembly to mount the saddlebags. I'll buy one, but it will probably stay in armor mode. The Namitoy version looks pretty OK in armor mode, not quite as nice as the MH though. It's a bit bulkier, but that reinforces the sculpt in bike mode. It does look a lot better than the MH in bike mode, with the only really glaring proportional weirdness being the size and shape of the fairing - the windscreen and shocks by contrast look great. Will buy one, and [will try to] remain cautiously optimistic CMs ride armor is a little bit of an unknown quantity, but the sculpt actually looks pretty decent on the bike... Not quite so much on the rider, from what we've seen. Still, who knows what we're missing, it may look pretty cool finished and painted. As long as there is decent durability, it should actually be pretty cool to fiddle with. At the size, looks like like an excellent replacement for the old Gakken small ride armors. Until I have these in hand and can make an informed judgement, I'll have to stay with the large Gakken as the best of the best.

I'm a sucker for CFs. While this model looks interesting, it's just not right in my mind that they used the color they did The show definitely displays a more shiny bronze coloration. Nonetheless, I find this scheme interesting in that the lighter color really shows more of the detail and construction than did the Ivanov or Nora (Still don't have my Ivanov either) .

Nope. No word. I wouldn't expect much until end of next month. Bahh.

QFT. Man, those rims are dope.

I feel your pain.

Get a rope. As far as Macross mecha goes, the VA-3 (including variants) would have to be my least favorite... The design and transformation just scream "GoBot" to me
-
Cool. Looks like F-Toys took note of demand. Now people don't have to be fleeced on Ebay
-
Bump... Any progress, Totoro?

I love Miyatake's Orguss designs and all of the old Takatoku Orguss toys. While the show itself could be kind of whacky at times, the mecha designs are all great. Real robots at their best.

If it does end up cheap (unfortunately, this is unlikely), it would be nice as a toy to fiddle with. I like the diecast swingbars and the cargo boxes. I do not like the extremely "plasticky" look, and lack of painted detail though.
