I'm down for the Zentran figure to be included like on the Q-rau but there's no way they'd include all the parts for all the variants. Then they couldn't milk the mold for each variant.
That could work but I'd almost rather see the regular regult released first on its own and the variants release on their own. Then to milk the mold more they can pack in the variants with the destroids later. That way destroids get made and people can army build regults for hopefully cheaper.
The Q-rau was about $90 when it was released. I'm pretty sure we're not going to get a regult for $60.
This is so true it's sick. If you saw the sculpts for the unreleased prototypes of the destroid and 1/55 heads for the reissue Bandai valks you know they have the skills. They went through all the trouble of making them and then they decided to just reissue the 1/55s as is.
I feel like the 2nd set of DVDs from FX stole fansubs from one group because they subs seem very very familiar after I watched a fansub VHS set I have.
I'm reserving judgment on these. I'm not exactly excited by the announcement but I do like the sound of cheaper Macross toys. As long as it doesn't end up being another VF-1 mold milking fest I might be interested. This line will definitely need some enemy mecha...even if they have to put it in a two pack.....
To be honest you can probably find most of it on youtube but if you're a fan then you need to have it. Off the top of my head theres:
SDFM opening
SDFM ending
SDFM SD opening
Macross 7 opening
Macross 7 ending
Macross 7 Dynamite opening x 7 or something like that. They show each variantion of the opening
DYRL PS1 game opening
Some preview for a CG Macross show(?) that never came out
commericals and previews I'm sure there's other stuff but it's been a while since I've seen it.
What was so great about Guld as a pilot? He flew the YF-21 with his mind. You could have put anyone into the valkyrie and Joe Blow would have done just as well as him. The computer showed him the trajectory to take when the missiles were coming at him.
Well I was always a proponent of character figures for macross but the answer I always got was that character figures would not sell well because Macross was a mecha driven show. I think the popularity of the CMs line has shown that they will sell.
I agree with Exo though. I think the CMs figures are the closest we'll get to characters in plastic....which is fine with me since I have them all. I'm not really interested in starting a new line.
