  1. Yep. Bandai didn't start using all plastic trays till the DX VF-1 line. Slipping a valk back into its plastic tray is so much less hassle than trying to wrap it in its plastic sheet then carefully try to conform it to the tiny styrofoam tray shape.
  2. Dear lord that is an absolutely stunning custom collection you have there!
  3. It looks pretty good with the super parts.
  4. Holy crap dude. Yeah, live it up man! Grats on the new valks and dream car!
  5. The VF-25 ghost set came with missiles? I don't remember those (mine's been in storage for a long time).
  6. I'd like to give it a try, but I'm not really sure I want even one PF YF-19. I guess approaching the $500 mark is where I have to draw the line on expensive as hell valks, at least at this scale.
  7. @Saburo can make a plain box look fantastic!
  8. Mine too.
  9. Huh. Just looked at my AE account and saw that the YF-19 PF I added months ago is still in my "Standing Not Paid" list with the bright yellow PAY NOW button available. Never seen that before. AE cancels any unpaid orders once they're sold out. Now I'm tempted to pay it and see if they actually honor it or just refund my money.
  10. Yes they are and I originally typed that, but decided against make such a blanket statement covering every company in an entire country.
  11. They're risk averse. They'd rather accept the deadweight loss than try to increase sales (and profits) but at increased risk of having even one unit of unsold stock. Bandai can run their business however they want. It doesn't mean we have to like it or withhold criticisms.
  12. Bandai creates artificial scarcity to increase demand. It's nothing new. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_scarcity
  13. You can cheat a lot when you parts swap.
  14. Wow that is an amazing haul! Especially that low-vis 1S.
  15. I'd rather have them in DX form. The VF-1 molds already exist. Get to it, Bandai!
  16. Good on you. Don't accept any BS or NY-style stalling tactics from sellers who can't get their sh** together. I have no more patience for such shenanigans.
  17. Hayate, the worst main character in any Macross series, and Mirage, who I'm pretty sure has a Kakizaki relative somewhere on her dad's side.
  18. Toys and human lives don't last forever. Enjoy them while they last, for one day it all breaks down and ends.
  19. Both the VF-27 and YF-29 going back to their styrofoam and plastic prisons shortly.
  20. I'm glad you had good experiences with them, but that doesn't change the fact that they are failing miserably on this order. This is a Bandai TWE item so they should have gotten it right after release date, same as everyone else who ordered it direct from Bandai, assuming they can be trusted and even ordered it at all. It's been about 3 weeks since release, so I've given them plenty of time to get their sh** together. The only communication I've gotten from them was a non-helpful email that the item should arrive "next week" and that was two weeks ago. I will never use Dejapan again and advise against anyone else using them. Same recommendation I gave about NY years ago.
  21. So, as a trial run for the VF-1D, I decided to place an order through Dejapan proxy service. I'm already getting the 1D from a buddy in Tokyo, so I'll still have a 1D if they failed to deliver. My verdict on Dejapan: FAIL Two weeks ago I contacted them about the status of my 1D order and asked if it's arrived in warehouse. The replied and said it "should have shipped already" and to contact them again if there's no update by next week. I contacted them again a few days ago to ask for a status and have not received a response. That's some NY-level BS going on here. So I contacted them today asking for either a real status update or refund if they cannot fulfill my order. I'll be filing a CC dispute if I don't hear from them in the next 24-48 hours. Anyone looking for a reliable proxy service should avoid Dejapan.
  22. Nope. That section does swivel a bit, so you can turn it outwards somewhat to get at the screws. Removing the legs entirely makes it easier.
