  1. Like the HMR VF-2SS release, she looks great if you're looking down at her from above. However, from the side and bottom views, they're both quite thick.
  2. Just a few minor touch-ups done. Still need to work on the add-on packs. Side by side with the 1D. I like the colors of the VT-1 a lot more. The 1D orange looks really dull next to the VT-1. Happy that my 1D no longer has to sit empty.
  3. Bandai should have given us swappable stabilizers like the Angel Birds. The shorter pair for transformation, and a longer pair for those who want to have proper sized VF-1 stabilizers. And packing them separately would have avoided the broken tailfin issue.
  4. Macross follows the same rules regarding navigational lights as real world aircraft... mostly. Red port light and green starboard light. Even the life-sized Gundam has red and green navigational lights built into its shoulder pauldrons. Federation ships in Star Trek follow this convention too. Yeah that works too.
  5. No beetles were crushed for that shiny candy coating. Bleh my chrome marker ran dry just now so I'll have to finish the landing gear later.
  6. Ridiculous that such an expensive toy needs these fixes.
  7. It's already tampo printed on.
  8. Bandai QC really slipping.
  9. Opened YF-21 sold for 34k. I would have taken it over the unopened ones selling for 40k. No bent antenna! https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1267688460&ref=list&keyword=マクロス
  10. All aircraft are required to have red port and green starboard navigational lights. And Kawamori knows aircraft. Bandai, however, does not.
  11. That metallic paint job makes it look cheap.
  12. The placard says 33k yen with tax, so that's my limit. 🫠 Sure I can grab you one if they still have them.
  13. It's unlikely there will be any left, but I'll pick one up if they're still available at the Tamashii store in Tokyo when I'm there in September. Absolutely no way I would pay any aftermarket markup for it though.
  14. I got one of my YF-21s and the Metal Build Kampfer from Yoyakunow. So they're legit so far. Even the shipping rates were reasonable, unlike NY's habit of gouging on shipping. About 5000 yen for Fedex for the YF-21 and it got here in 2 days.
  15. Ah well, Misa and Hikaru can sit in my empty cockpit 1D then.
  16. Hey @tekering do the 1/48 pilots fit in the 1/60 Yamato?
  17. I stick with my original postulate that Bandai decides which VF to release next using a dart board.
  18. $50 in 1985 is equivalent to $146 today.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

So they fixed the tail fins so they don't fall off when you breathe on them? I might consider getting a reissue if so.
  20. Why didn't Bandai just glue the wing parts on? God knows Bandai loves glopping glue over everything else, including parts that are already held together by screws.
  21. Come on guys let's cut Bandai some slack already. Don't you remember the SV-51 ankle debacle? Where Arcadia said having the wrong ankles installed was just a "quality variance" and told everyone outside Japan to piss off? Bandai is a pretty small company and couldn't possibly handle the cost of replacing all those broken head lasers.
  22. I see a lot of returns and exchanges in Bandai's future.
  23. Received my second YF-21. Slightly bent laser out of the box. I was able to straighten it with just my fingers, but there's a visible stress mark where the bend occurred. This unit will be my permanent battroid display. Oh, and F U Bandai.
  24. Revivals have the chest stripes painted incorrectly.
  25. Thanks! @no3Ljm! So an unopened YF-21 sold on Mandarake earlier. I think it's better to buy an opened item this time around so they can tell you if the head laser is busted or not. 😁 https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1265994300&ref=list&keyword=マクロス&lang=en
