+1 to that! How many years has it been since people were singing Bandai's praises because the HMR line was "the most complete line" of Macross toys?
-
That's what it always looked like to me.
-
@Anasazi37 made a decal set for it. Used it to make my own "premium finish" version awhile back. That was a lot of tiny decals!

Yeah the Lil Drakens actually look really good when paired with Arad's ride.

Ah gotcha. Now that I think about it, I think I have the weathering edition stashed away somewhere.

The PF VF-4A is a great piece for those who don't have the time or wherewithal to panel wash and decal up the regular edition (and it's a lot of work for sure!).

Typical HMR "quality." I said it before and I'll say it again: the VF-0D is the first HMR valk I've bought that actually looks and feels like a premium toy.

Did they ever make a weathering version of the olive green?
-
Hikaru's 1S was one of my earlier projects. It's the original Yamato release paired with the strike parts from the premium finish set. I did that so all my DYRL valks were the same shade of dark white with rainbow canopies. Max's 1A is the only hero valk from the movie I haven't worked on yet. Everyone loves escort missions!

Don't worry it's just a Thai knockoff brand. Cat's Eye! I should have thought of that. Never played any RT games, but I'm assuming the mission ended in much the same way as the show?

Are the intakes supposed to look that wonky or am I just too used to Yamato's?
-
The animators are still a step above Bandai, because they at least included the ejection seat warning.
-
That's a good use of the Minmay decal. Yeah I too wish we had more options like this.

Absolutely stunning picture! Just goes to show that one great pic > 50 mediocre pics!

Mandarake has a Yamato VF-4G that someone customized into the FB2012 version. My only gripe is that they didn't sand out the obvious seam lines on the nose before painting it. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1177496033

"Latest development sample" probably just means that they have a final molded plastic production sample and not the painted prototype they've been trotting out. Extremely doubtful Bandai made any meaningful changes. This is the company that prints modex numbers backwards for spectacularly stupid reasons.

The undersized pilots are a real eyesore. Makes the VF-1 look like some hideously gigantic machine that belongs in the Gundam universe rather than a compact aircraft that's smaller than the real world F-14.
-
I wish they would reissue the premium finish versions of Roy and Hikaru instead. Or better yet just make everything "premium finish" and not split their own tiny market.
-
Yes, it's always best to pay in yen with a CC that doesn't charge any foreign transaction fees. Those transaction fees really add up when you buy a lot of stuff from Japan!
-
I had forgotten that Delta introduced add-ons for the add-ons.

Chugging along and getting valks back up one by one when I have time. (Gonna need to repaint my badly yellowed TV SDF-1 unless Bandai releases theirs...) I know some prefer the TV livery for our heroes while others prefer the movie versions. TV heroes Movie heroes

Now the long, long process of taking my stuff out of storage and setting them up. Starting with the OG Macross on the top row...
