  1. Ouch. Did HLJ cancel your order? Edit: My order is "processing" for now. It's Saturday in Japan, and a little after 0900. I expect more payment requests will get out as the day goes on. I'm crossing my fingers for more positive news...
  2. Yeah. This could have been a fun time. When watching ST: TOS on Blu-ray, there are certain episodes that really benefit from the enhanced CGI, and it's nice to be able to flip back and forth between the old and new effects. Doing the same with Galactica: TOS would have been a blast. For me, this was the best tease—seeing the wing from Pegasus "helping" Apollo and his squadron. The suits at Universal must be numb.
  3. I got notice this morning that my VF-25S from CDJapan shipped. That leaves HLJ. Has anyone heard anything from them?
  4. Heh. That's not the ending that I remember watching. Seriously, though, there were good nudge, nudge and wink, wink moments for veteran Macross fans throughout Frontier. The new series can certainly go its own way, but I'll bubble over with excitement if the writers choose to continue with the cameos and visual easter eggs. I don't need to see old characters reprising roles, but one thing that Macross does well is to create a believable persistent universe.
  5. Yeah. And that results in a course correction for me: I'll be passing on this. I don't need two of the same VF-1J Valkyries. I already have a nice Hikaru 1J that I picked up from another forum member. Arcadia is confusing me with their VF-1 releases. I hope the next use of the mold hits it out of the park.
  6. A picture would be a nice incentive. It would also be very cool if reissue Yuki included the add-ons from previous releases, a saluting arm and a hand-on-hip arm. But even if it's just a basic reissue, I could see this being good for those who want a nice figure of Yuki in her traditional yellow/black uniform. Aloof is a great description.
  7. Alas, this is true. Even the second season has the same problem. It's as if they have enough of a story to finish the first act, and then they write the second act while playing World of Warcraft.
  8. Hm. Ditzy is not a word I would use to describe Yurisha's personality. I guess that is the difference here. In my personal mythology 2199 improves on the old series, which had only two Iscandar sisters with very basic characterizations: Starsha and Sasha. In 2199, Sasha's original role is split among two characters. And I thought Yurisha was more of the intelligent alien. A Klaatu-like pragmatist foil to Starsha's political idealist, especially when it came to giving humans access to advanced technology. I'm glad you like the figure, though. It's not my style and does not fit with my personal criteria.
  9. I'm passing on both the 2199 compilation movie and MegaHouse's first release of Yurisha. At the moment, there are too many other things competing for my play-time money and I cannot justify fitting either of these into the budget. And I'm just guessing, but I believe an accurate version of Yurisha will be released by MH or some other company. I'll wait for that one.
  10. For me, it doesn't matter if this is a photoshop job or not. If AmiAmi did this on their own or if they did this after taking direction from Arcadia to get an accurate set of photos that better simulates the color of final retail toy then it's still very helpful indeed. To quote the great feline philosopher Garfield, "Big, fat, hairy deal."
  11. Saburo, here is the how-to thread on the tinted canopies: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=38491 In it Graham notes that dish washing detergent also works at removing a cracking/flaking canopy finish. You can use this as an alternative to Isopropyl alcohol since it will not mar the paint/printing. The flaking seems to be more of a QC issue with the finish itself. I'm not sure what Yamato had to mix to get the affect, but it looks like a percentage of those early releases have a built in time limit. My rainbow canopies still look great, for what its worth. Gimmick or not, I like them too. (edit: fixed thread discription)
  12. Yeah^. The cardboard is quite thin. I'll have to dig the box out because I don't remember anything obvious, but mine also didn't have far to travel from Lunar.. The SD SDF-1 is in great condifion. I have no issues with the toy at all. I do empathize with the situation, though. I've had a couple Masterpiece Transformers arrive damaged from other stores, and following up on a downer like that takes time and commitment.
  13. Hey, you're welcome! The more the merrier, as the saying goes. I couldn't hold back powerwatching (nice) during the release in 2013, but once you have the whole series you can watch it again. (edited because...time)
  14. If you want to get the whole show, then look for a good deal on the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Blu-ray discs. There are seven volumes for the series plus one compilation movie available today. A second film is set to debut in Japan in December. I think the StarBlazers 2199 release is on hiatus at the moment. There was some discussion on this a page or so back in the thread.
  15. And another payment sent.
  16. Ball joints. It had to be ball joints. But as an anti-color-critique strategy it's near genius.
  17. That's very, very cool! First N-Y and now AmiAmi.
  18. Yeah. Or maybe AR will have some stock when it's released? Either way, good luck in your search, jenius. The shipping costs are a little better than robotkingdom, but this is my first order from them. They do have good reviews over at TFW. I'll post here with my experience once MP-10EVA arrives.
