  1. This. ^^ I would add history to the industry rumblings. The forums started chatting about Macross Frontier in earnest a full year before the series debuted. If Macross Δ needs at least a year too, then I expect scant news until late summer 2015. Given point 4, I was thinking about the possibility of an idol triangle. What if Sheryl and Ranka both return in the new series? That could be interesting if everyone in the real world has the time for it. Did Kawamori's interview get that specific about the music?
  2. Adding to what KB wrote, I remember reading some pages back that unprotected paint can react to styrofoam packaging. I think that is one of the reasons why Bandai's Valkyries are wrapped in plastic. Once a toy is out of the box I like to use the can-o-air method to repel dust. Although, if I'm in a pinch I'll pull a brand new Swifter duster.
  3. I ordered MP-10EVA from action robo: http://www.actionrobo.com/index/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=195 I don't know if the store is still taking pre-orders, but the add to cart button is still active. I had to pay up front.
  4. Shame on you, Mommar, for interjecting common sense in all the colorful bickering! There is an inherent downside to this kind of open communication from engineers. Since we are seeing the process from prototype to test type to retail, we are also seeing a few of the steps related to the major changes. For complex figures, this introduces a lot of supposition and speculation on what is essentially a very limited point of view. The paint may be a final finishing step that Arcadia is waiting on until it gets the color exactly right. In the meantime, the company is using the currently painted prototype for all colored photographs. Who knows, outside of Arcadia? I'm not going to fuss on Arcadia because they are still using an old prototype for color photos. I think they deserve my patience instead of my knee-jerk reaction to the things Mr. K shares on his twitter feed.
  5. I paid about $235 before shipping. Given that, $220 isn't unreasonable now and any price north of $300 reflects bad timing in this case. Yes! A two-disc, gatefold release with extra artwork or liner notes from the various artists (like some labels included back in the day) would have really sweetened the deal. But I don't have too much colored vinyl in my LP collection, and I guess in spite of any real extras the cost I'm paying is the convenience of not having to travel about looking for the '86 release in good condition.
  6. LoL! I don't remember her flirting with or making a pass at any of the college students. Maybe I missed something? I do like the consistency in Disney's CGI animation. Although, I think each movie is its own separate entity, I can see how others draw parallels between the different characters. It's off topic, but these remarks remind me of the Pixar theory: http://www.pixartheory.com/ My niece was with us for BH6, and she couldn't stop talking about how much she liked the movie. The feels were strong in this movie, and Baymax joins a very short list of robots (that includes the Iron Giant) to bring me to tears.
  7. LoL! It's a definite cash grab. I've seen good copies of the original LP go for about $50 used. It looks like TFsource had one available: http://tfsource.com/products/view/product_id/4187/
  8. It's on the high side, even for a niche format, but this pressing is limited too (only 1,000 units). Also, some releases are collectible, but I can only speculate as to whether this will fall into that category.
  9. Aww! I saw this today with the family and we stayed through the still scenes at the beginning of the credits but didn't realize there was more to come. I placed a link to the info between spoiler tags for those who missed it:
  10. I read this news over on tfw2005 earlier today. For you old-school audiophiles who are still rocking vinyl, and who may have a working turntable, the Transformers Motion Picture Soundtrack is getting an LP re-issue: http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Deluxe-Various-Artists/dp/B00P8H2FGW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415539575&sr=8-1&keywords=transformers+soundtrack+vinyl
  11. THAT scene was a cheap way to be edgy and transitional. But Cross Ange is not the only anime this season guilty of taking that route to attract an audience. The question is, would the story be the same without those explicit scenes? As another example, when Crunchyroll showed a preview of Terra Formars uncensored, I asked myself the same question. It turns out the story didn't change at all. In Terra Formars case, the only thing that changed was the flow of animation. If these shows were less explicit to begin with or, at the least subtle, they would still spark the imagination. Alas, I haven't seen any evidence indicating that either show wants its audience to think. Keith's tongue-in-cheek fanservice comment seems appropriate to me. I keep watching Cross Ange because after those first horrible episodes, the show developed a better sense of humor and I'm curious about where its headed. At first, I thought it was a deconstruction of the Magical Girl genre with robots! Now I have no idea. Anyway, I'm sticking with it for now...
  12. I liked the castaway humor in the last episode, even the bits that were obviously sophomoric. It was a good break from the usual stuff.
  13. Drool... Great pics, Old Man! The VF-4G is still on my holy grail list. I need to wait for the end of the year dust to settle before I can budget for it, though.
  14. This thread... It has happened before and it will happen again: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=21926 For me, the promotional material is interesting. However, because it is an advertisement for singing talent, it really doesn't mean anything unless I'm trying to overthink this stuff. A Macross series that focuses more on the idols would be an interesting twist, and may turn out to be fantastic, albeit it would be very similar to AKB0048, K-ON!, and other anime with a specific idol focus. Personally, I like how Macross has gone somewhere different with each of its iterations. Even those movies that retold stories did so by changing the audience's perspective slightly and giving a different take on the events. I'm looking forward to how this new show develops and seeing how it adds to the entire mythology that is Macross.
  15. I'm watching Parasyte without having read the manga. It's intense, and the latest episode was a solid punch in the gut. All the slicing and dicing reminds me of Elfen Lied, which I've never been able to finish to this day. I guess I have a fear of sharp objects. I do appreciate one thing about Parasyte, though: I may continue to watch the show just to see how that develops, but I've also decided that I need to cut back on the gore in my anime rotation. It just depresses me when there's so much of it. I'm not one to laugh at that stuff.
  16. Yeah. I don't get it. The real Yurisha must still be in recovery.
  17. Well... The Figurearts Zero line has my attention now. I like that Bandai is introducing more variety---variety that I thought we were going to get from MegaHouse when Okita was released. Instead, we have Rei clones (that made me laugh, UN Spacy), and each one is arriving with more exaggerated features. I think I'll pass on this Yurisha release. One time off the rails with Flight Suit Yuki was enough for me.
  18. Mm. I think you are right, Marzan. To me, it seems that this Yurisha has similar proportions to Flight-Suit Yuki who is scheduled to land in December.
  19. Arpeggio of Blue Steel was a fun story. I kind of, sort of wish that it was less of a Harem fantasy and that they had developed a few male personalities for some of the boats. It's a small nitpick, though, and the only criticism that sticks in my mind. I just finished episode 19 of my own Samurai Flamenco marathon last night. I was wondering when they would finally address the loose ends between the main characters (the ones that didn't involve ridiculous, albeit at times hilarious escalation). If you can hold out, It will be interesting to read what you think. For me, this show keeps redefining itself right up to the very end.
  20. I agree. There were a handful of characters to choose from and going with who they did seems too easy. My hope is that we (and the Doctor) haven't seen Missy's full hand. With truths and half-truths there is room for some surprises and flexibility without ruining it for the audience. Still, the episode as a whole was fun.
  21. When you're the fire chief, you spare no expense. HaHa. I had fun with those back in the day.
  22. 22000 to 24000 sounds about right to me. I'm also curious about the hard points on the wings and whether Bandai plans to include more accessories with their VF-19. That would also add to the price.
  23. My MP-14 Alert arrived this week with MP-20 and a couple of other things. Here is a quick photo I took of MP Red Alert with my old G1 Red Alert who is sporting more metal, but showing his age. G1 Red needs some reprolabels. Awww.
  24. Here is an article posted earlier this afternoon on the LA Times website: http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-virgin-galactic-crash-ntsb-20141101-story.html#page=1
