please scan or take pictures of every page, PLEASE. :edit: by the way, I've got a GFF metal Unicorn gundam coming from AmiAmi, it finally cleared customs and just went through Oakland so fingers crossed that it will be here this afternoon.

I'd love to get a 17-55 f/2.8. Fast, L-quality glass and IS in a decently priced package is great but It's going to be a LONG time before I've saved up enough to get one.

kind of tempting, although I'm totally broke right now (I really could use more range on the wide end and less overlap with my 70-200mm than I have now with my 28-135mm )

The struts aren't raw metal but I don't think they're painted either, it seams a lot harder than normal paint anyways. It's like some sort of coating that isn't actually paint. It's too bad that the wheels don't lock, but at least they don't callapse when you roll it on a surface. I would really have liked rubber tires, although at least with single piece wheels the tires can't pop off.

V remake - new TV series coming to ABC
anime52k8 replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
After two seasons of Sanctuary (which I do like), I've gotten used to virtual sets. The Problem with V is that it's SO SLOW. We're 6 hours into the show and we still don't know what the hell the aliens are after. 6 hours into original V we had gunfights and chicks giving birth to lizard babies. I'm still pissed that in six episodes we STILL haven't seen a alien unhinge their jaw and eat a live guinea pig. -
he also did Underworld (1996) I find is odd how he's managed to direct not one but two shitty movies in the 90's that share titles with movies I really like.

fixed for you. -
can I just say that I HATE the LV1 scheme? I think the LV1 is hideous and the 1/60 v.2 LV, the LV2, and the Stealth all look better.

it's still a better, more interesting plot than most of the big budget, high grossing crap that has come out in the last couple years. If Spirits was released now with today's state of the art animation and CGI (which was my point originally, not just re-releasing it but doing it now with Avatar quality CGI) I still say it would have been a hit. if Avatar (or the bayformers movies for that matter) teaches us anything its that audiences today will spend ludicrous amounts of money on movies just because they have shinny CG and big explosions. that's all that qualifies something to be a Final Fantasy game apparently It's overrated because it's only good if you're a huge fan of the games, but it's frequently made out to be this amazing movie regardless of if you've played the game or not. even in the complete version it still makes no sense if you never played the game, it's totally inaccessible to outside audiences. it's bad enough when a sequel to a movie is like this but it's even worse when it's a sequel to a completely different media. -
And if nobody buy's it because nobody wants it and it ends up a shelf warmer getting sold at a loss? Not sure where the incentive to make this is for Yamato. How many units are the really going to sell of a variant that's 99% identical to a product they've already released 3+ times.

Pretty much yeah. Spirits Within's only problem was that it was made a decade ahead of it's time. The technology at the time was to expensive and to primitive, but mostly People just weren't ready for life-like, all CGI movies. It was a beautiful looking film with a solid story, but people just weren't ready for it. Had Spirits Within been released today it would have been a much bigger success because general audiences are open to CGI-intensive films. as for Advent Children, it was pretty and fun to see FFVII in super-detailed Hi-def CGI, but really the movie barely makes sense if you HAVE played the game. For anyone who hasn't the movie makes absolutely NO sense at all. also I think Advent Children automatically gets undue praise just because it's FFVII, and conversely Spirits Within gets unfairly ragged on just because it's unrelated to any of the games. (I like both but I think Spirits Within is much better as a movie) -
NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU WANT IT TO BE TRUE, THIS poo WILL NEVER BE THE NEXT ROBOTECH! Astro Plan has way more originality, artistic integrity, and better animation than robotech will ever have.

As someone who's never watched zeta, double zeta, or char's counter-attack; is it possible to watch unicorn and get what's going on, or will I just be totally lost?

sensor cleaning For the lenses, microfiber cloth and compressed air cans are fine for the front and rear lens element. There's not much you can do about dust INSIDE the lens though it takes BIG pieces of dust to show up in the picture if it's inside the lens. And as for avoiding dust in the future, not much you can do besides buy more expensive lenses/bodied that have weather sealing. That and avoid changing lenses outside as much as possible.

the problem isn't with the design in the show though, it's not that parts are fragile or to complex, it's that there was a noticeable lack of effort and forethought put into making sure parts actually fit where they're supposed to and how the various accessory parts would actually attach to the toy. Most of the problems with the VF-25 DX are directly attributable to poor choices on the design teams part. Look at all the areas that the VF-27 improves over the VF-25: things like the shield, the cockpit, the gunpod, the landing gear, the telescoping neck, the legs... these are things they should have gotten right in the first place. it's fairly evident that for the VF-25's Bandai either had some second rate designers working on them, or the design team intentionally cut corners for whatever reason.

It always bugs the hell out of me when people piss and moan about how a period movie isn't historically accurate when it's a F*cking movie. It's Entertainment, not an educational film. -
other than the original 80's stuff (the two shows plus the crossover speical), there was 1998's Voltron: the third dimension which was a dirrect sequal to lion voltron and and not a reboot. other than that there's the LAM announced in 2005 that's still dragging through pre-production and an untitled "interactive" voltorn series from kickstart (same people doing the nick one) that was supposed to come out in 2005 and hasn't gone anywhere. so yeah, two attempts to bring it back to TV, only one of which actually made it to TV, and it wasn't a reboot.
