  1. fully articulated 1/60 zoid toys maybe? oh god (now if only Bandai would take a stab at this. SoC zoids... yum )
  2. really, because I think it's a laughable way of dealing with a problem that shouldn't have existed in the first place. The toy should have had plug in panels that you swap for fixed gears from the start. (they did it on the VF100's and they looked good, they're doing it on the VF-1 and it looks fine, why not here?) But hey, at least you get landing gear at all right? Also fists and a stand base! the only other thing it needs is a clip to attach the gunpod in fighter mode and this web exclusive will have everything the toy should have come with in the first place! YAY!!! (In case you're wondering, that was sarcasm )
  3. wow, very interesting. I love the "not a giant Airfix kit" line at
  4. Photobucket pretty much just deletes anything that gets reported as inappropriate without any kind of review process and with no way to appeal or recover your deleted image. which is why they suck.
  5. and I want some product pics in this thread god dammit.
  6. he's using miniature desktop tripods: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5356...ini_Tripod.html (the one's len_d69's using look to be the same as one's I've gotten before as freebie's when buying camera gear.) And the bases are just the packaging writable CD's/DVD's come in. All tripods have a 1/4"-20 screw so anything you can drill a 1/4 inch diameter hole into will work. :edit: I must say this is probably the best use of those cheap desk tripods I've ever seen.
  7. well Mr Typo Nazi, if I get a copy without paying for it, I retain what meager money I do have while still getting to watch Macross. And if as a result of not paying for a copy less Macross gets made, then I'll be less compelled in the future to spend money I don't have on Macross merchandise in the future, and then I'll be able to eat food that doesn't come in cardboard and Styrofoam packaging every once in a while. Eating > Macross But if you've got so much disposable income that paying asinine R2 DVD prices (plus international shipping costs) for a movie that will be watched all of one time (and I won't even be watching the DVD I bought since it doesn't have subtitles) sounds perfectly reasonable to you, Good for you. maybe you could buy me a copy with all your infinite wealth Mr Rockefeller. :edit: Ok, let me just preemptively say that the preceding contains lots of sarcasm for those of you who have no idea what sarcasm or jokes are (see, more sarcasm right there) but speaking seriously; I like Macross and I want to support the franchise, but only if I'm getting a good value in the process. I've bought plenty of Macross toys and merchandise before, because what I got for the money was a good value. like I said, there's about a 99% chance that I'll watch the Frontier movie once and never watch it again, and I that one viewing wouldn't even be from the DVD because it doesn't have subtitles. In that case buying the DVD would do nothing for me but let me say that I took the moral high ground and supported the cause. As someone who doesn't have a lot of disposable income (unemployed full time student), if I'm going to be making a charitable donation to something (which is all buying the DVD would be) there are a hell of a lot of causes I'd rather donate to than a cartoon series from the 80's.
  8. and buying legit copies is for squares who have sold out to The Man. ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH!
  9. it's like pure chaos with porn... brings a smile to my face.
  10. I'm distinctly interested in what's going on in the background of this pic.
  11. who makes this? is this one of the ones from Yamato? I kind of like these but most of these dolls are so damn expensive.
  12. lame... sick of VF-1's, sick of skull squad. call me when the release something that isn't 99% rehash of existing products.
  13. yes and no, the big main decal (decal A) runs over the hinges connecting the wing gloves to the backpack. but you could just cut the decal into 3 pieces (on for the backpack and one for each wing glove.
  14. this was my most recent purchase form HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT34577 and I had no trouble getting it delivered. honestly half the stuff I've bought from HLJ is this kind of stuff and I've never once caught crap from customs.
  15. I want those 25 seconds of my life back god damn it.
  16. why does nobody scan these things :edit: dude, it's got Misa and Yuki Mori on the cover, that automatically makes it awesome.
  17. please say someone has a higher res copy of that. I'd love that for a wallpaper. :edit: now I'm even more interested...
  18. http://cgi.ebay.com/YAMATO-MACROSS-1-48-VA...=item5886f7535b there's at least one set on ebay right now. $188 shipped. should have gone with the 1/60 v.2 dude, fast packs for those are everywhere.
  19. I don't think anything new has been said about it since they showed the prototype last year.
  20. see the bolded part? that is a completely baseless assertion. and when those came out demand was higher and design/production cost where lower, high end toys like this are getting more expensive with less content across the board. it sucks but it's not unique to this toy. And this part in bold? This is a completely invalid comparison. whether or not the first release MG kit was flawed is completely irrelevant because the GFF unicorn is nothing like a model kit. I've got one in my hand right now and I can tell you it is a rock solid piece of engineering. The GFF unicorn is possible as all hell, it's got great range of motion and tight joints that will hold all kind of posses. It's also supper sturdy; no parts falling off anywhere, die-cast in the major joints, this is one robust toy. by the way I find it kind of odd that you say you like the design even though you spend a significant portion of your post complaining how you don't like the conversion between unicorn and destroy mode. That's really the main draw of the toy, personally I think it's cool and a really well executed feature. If you don't like the conversion, that's your problem, not the toys. I got mine for less than retail, but it's completely worth the 18,000 Yen they're asking for it. Had I not found a good deal I would have totally payed full price for it.
  21. so your point is you hate a toy you've never owned nor even handled because you disliked a model kit that has nothing to do with the toy in question, mostly because you don't like the inherent design of the mech... great logic there chief :edit: now that I have one in had I can evaluate if how baseless you claims really are.
