  1. I remember when I first started building models and they all came out looking like ass. Then I decided I hated building models and stopped. Now I buy toys and I'm a much happier person.
  2. if it does they'd better have F*cking public lobbies and none of this invite only crap...
  3. they changed their URL from amiami.com to amiami.jp. if you try to go to the old URL for their English site (amiami.com/shop/?set=english) it automatically redirects to their main site (in japanese). just add: "/shop/?set=english" to the end of the URL then make a new bookmark. :edit: or just use this link http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english
  4. now that you mention it, it does look a little like the SDFN-4...
  5. ugly partsformer is ugly and partsforming.
  6. BLASPHEMY! THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!! (brand, scale, etc... )
  7. wow, I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm glad I got mine early.
  8. I've got one. Design wise it's definitely based of the OVA version Unicorn Kit. I don't own an MG unicorn personally, but from looking at and reviews it seems like the articulation and how it transforms is the same. In terms of accessories, it comes with everything the standard MG kit comes with (beam bazooka, beam magnum, shield beam sabers, 3 pt and Fixed v-fin/horn, etc.) you also get the standard GFF display base which I like and you get the dual beam Gatling that none of the MG's have (the duel Gatling alone where enough to make me want the toy over the models.) The big thing the Metal composite unicorn has over MG is construction. The unicorn has die-cast in the elbows, knees, hips, calf armor, and the armor plate over the feet (I think it has some more internal metal too). Also all of the plastic is ABS and POM, (I don't know about the MG unicorn, but I just got a MG Sinanju and it's got a lot of Polystyrene parts). The toy has a fair amount of heft to it, it feels nice in the hand and is much more substantial than any finished MG I've handled of similar size. Then of course it has all of the markings tempo printed on, so no stickers or stupid dry transfers to apply and then have fall off. Also the white armor parts have a pearlescent finish that doesn't really show up in photos but is noticeable once you have it in hand. so overall, it's an OVA version MG unicorn that's made out of much better materials; has better, tighter joints; has some extra weapons; and is built with a level of fit and finish that would take a lot of time and skill to achieve with an MG kit. it's definitely more playable than a model kit. I got mine for $150 shipped, and it was totally worth it. At $180+shipping, it's probably still worth it if you really like the design. If you've already got the MG unicorn (especially the MS cage release); you have the time, patience and skill to build it up all perfect; and having the dual beam gatlings isn't important to you. you may want to skip it, or at least wait until you can find a good price on it.
  9. eh... I've never been all that impressed with this one, something about the face just isn't right. also the lack of cast off sucks. now this one looks pretty nice http://www.yamato-toys.com/ec/items/detail.php?gid=1653 unfortunatly it's a rediculously expensive resin kit. and speaking of Shunya yamashita, I'd just like to restate how much I want this, even though I don't like ikkitousen and particuarlly dislike this character: http://www.amiami.jp/shop/shop?vgForm=Prod...amp;set=english
  10. speaking or original MSG, I just finished this bad boy last night.
  11. $82 Canadian = $80 USA. Not quite $75 dollars but I think that was what he was getting at.
  12. But I loved Brave Little Toster as a kid.
  13. This one was with a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM on a 50D body. It was shot at a 47mm focal length with a f/4.5 aperture.
  14. I get why stores use shipping that requires signatures, but I really wish the would give you the option to opt out of that. I just placed a semi-big order of gunpla and gundam markers from HobbyWave, and I was really dreading having to deal with FedEx shipping until I noticed that they give you the option for delivery without confirmation. Turns out it's getting here on a friday and I'll be their to get it anyways, but still it's nice to have the option. I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE FedEx by the way. (really bad ordeal getting a computer delivered about 3 years ago that involved about a week and a half of failed deliveries before having to take an hour drive to their distribution center to pick up a 40lb desktop that I still had to pay 60 bucks to ship mother f*ckers)
  15. to embed images from Flickr: go to the photo page of the image you're trying to post then click on the all sizes button (outlined in red) now pick the size you want to post from the available sizes list (medium or large works best, please don't link original size, especially if you upload full-size strait from the camera huge images) finally, scroll to the bottom of the page and copy the URL (outlined in red) now for those that don't know, you need to add [/_img] around said URL (don't include the "_" ) to make the image show up in the post. or you can click the little embed image button and past the URL into the pop-up box last thing you need to remember about flickr is that their ToS require that externally posted images must link back to their photo page. To do this, after making the embedded image go back to the photo page and copy this URL (outlined in red) then come back to your forum post, highlight the image tag, click on the insert link button (outlined in red) and past in the photo page URL. and this is what you get after all that work so yeah, a bit more work than going through photobucket or imageshack, but Flickr is way better when it comes to uploading and organizing images, and they don't constantly screw with your stuff. Personally I upload all my good photos and stuff through Flickr, and only use photobucket for junk I don't care about and don't want cluttering up my photostream.
  16. I don't think there's a reason to watch the show besides lack of pants.
