I nominate Gamer for worst SciFi film. think Crank mixed with Death Race only without Jason Statham, anything resembling a coherent plot, or any other redeeming quality of the other two movies Gamer ripped off. (I liked Death Race, I didn't hate Crank, Gamer was a horrible pile of shit.) Also I swear at some point in the film, they DID use the Wilhelm scream (that's about when I realized this movie sucks).

The Stryker MGS really doesn't look anything like the Beatrice other than having 8 wheels and a 105mm gun. The strykers have a taller hull above the level of the wheel wells, and is less drastically slopped front. Also the MGS has a much smaller turret (the gun and it's autoloader actually sit on top of a very shallow turret, with the crew sitting down in the hull of the vehicle.)

funny, the one complaint I see a lot about most sigma lenses (including the one in question) is that they tend to have really inconsistent/poorly calibrated focusing. (and I don't know about the Nikon but the Canon is $150 cheaper.)

I used to have a diagram that would be relevant to the discussion but I can't seem to find it. the gist of it though was that by increasing the area of jet exhaust that contacts outside air, you decrease the IR signature of the engine but also decrease the thrust it produces. a conventional engine with a round nozzle has the least contact area so it produces the most thrust but has the largest IR signature, and on the opposite end an F-117's slit shaped nozzles produce the lowest IR signature but don't produce much thrust. The F-35 has a round nozzle with a saw-tooth edge, which is supposed to give the best balance of thrust and IR signature reduction. the F-22's square nozzles are actually produce more thrust than the F-35's but do less to cool the exhaust.

I hate that movie so much, I honestly do. anyways, to address the topic at hand... well I'll start by quoting myself. yeah, Brera in the VF-27 is the right size compared to Guld, VF-11 isamu, Generic VE-1 pilot and Generic Destroid pilot. brera looks slimmer because his flight suit is more form-fitting compared to the older suits, and he's smaller than Guld because Guld is just a huge guy. now as for the VF-25 and VF-0. both of these have out of scale pilots. the VF-0 is too big (closer to maybe 1/50th) and the VF-25 is too small (closer to 1/72) so yeah, the VF-25 should have a bigger pilot. as for how big cockpits should be and to add some real world perspective: the cockpits of real aircraft very greatly in size. Some planes are built with roomy interiors, others are cramped little sardine cans.

So at what point did they decide to replace the cool sliding hinged doors on the X-35 with a giant, goofy looking hatch?

well, the plot is that they were being abducted by predators as prey so chances are it's set in the present rather than the future, hence the contemporary firearms. most science fiction movies use modern firearms not out of realism, but because it's cheaper to rent a bunch of existing gun than it is to make dozens of special prop guns just for that film. it's sloppy laziness and it looks bad.

that was my first thought, there's also a a few big F-4 bits in there too (canopy windscreen, intakes, etc...). there interesting, although I don't think I like the FSW's.

bit of personal news... I FINALLY finished Bioshock 2 (Life got busy and I had to take a break from gaming ) definitely a better game than Bioshock 1, ending was actually really satisfying. I got the happy ending, very heartwarming. now I need to do an evil play through. I'm also liking the multiplayer although it has a distinct CoD4 feeling to it. Now though I really wish someone would make 1/6th scale figures for Bioshock. I want a really big Delta, would be awesome too. Honestly there aren't enough high end toys for video games. I find it highly disappointing that Hot toys or some other company hasn't done a 1/6th master chief or anyone from MW2. the RE4/5 figures were pretty cool, how about some other properties.

there bringing crash back... really? well frak Activision and frak Robert bowling! Crash is a piece of poo, bring back some good maps like Bloc and Chinatown. also fart 1200 points for a map pack. and while we're on the subject of stuff that can go suck it, BF2's multiplayer demo was a piece of poo too.

the single part of the video that stood out to me was that the scope on her rifle is going to gouge her eye out if she takes a shot.
