The Comic Book thread

So as I've said before, I don't fallow marvel comic books any more so when I saw this it got me wondering; when did Albert Wesker start playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Comic books? http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-KAI-6685- 567 replies

My head canon is that the advanced materials that valks are made of don't rust, wear, or fade and are so easy to clean that they always look shiny and new all the time, so I don't have to weather them.

I remember sometime around 1999, Mac+ and MacII were both being shown reguarly on a premium cable channel (HBO, Showtime, etc.) along with the first two patlabor movies and tekkaman blade 2.

yeah, that is unfair, tanks are far more maneuverable than your character in RE games before 4.- 7015 replies

Question for those that have both: how does the blue on the YF-25 compare to the blue on the VF-25G? I'm wondering how the 25G tornado parts would look on the YF-25.

What about airplane to robot transforming toys that aren't based on any particular existing mech in macross, but are in the same vain? like if someone went and took the old obscure advanced Valkyrie and Air cavalry chronicles stuff SK did years ago, and make some fully transforming toys loosely based on some of those designs. http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/aircavalry/seiran-99kou.htm http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/aircavalry/af-49.htm http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/advvalk/vf-x-7.htm http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/aircavalry/lv-7.htm

and despite all the scrutiny the Gunpod got over what color it should be, nobody noticed that they sculpted it wrong until we all had them in hand.

a whole new generation of gamers can experience the joys of a terrible inventory system, cumbersome tank controls and the worst fixed third person camera angles in the history of the known universe.- 7015 replies

maybe they where hoping people would be all, "oh man, that blue looks so good, it's so vibrant and awesome and reminiscent of a cool characters ride instead of the shitty, dull grey-blue from the OVA and that butt-nugget shin."
-
why do we need unlicensed third party for this? The 4~5 makers who clearly already have Macross licenses just need to get off their asses and make something besides Sheryl figures... Just make it happen already Megahouse, you rat bastards.

I don't understand how something like this even happens without SEGA just showing up, bitch-slapping everyone and saying we own EVERYTHING Sonic, end of story. This just adds to the case that Sega is completely incompetent as a company and have no idea how to manage licensing whatsoever.- 567 replies

Gundam Guy also got a review sample of the ThreeZero Atlas, and they found a rather novel solution to josh's fiddly pilot complaint: http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2014/08/threezero-titanfall-atlas-prototype_21.html- 7015 replies

that's actually really adorable. I love how the Rensouhou-chans are the other girls. anyways, here's a clever solution for how to deal with a collection of porno figures when you have guests over.
-
I figured they were all just clones of the same guy.
-
Well, the 25, 171 and 30 all share the same pilot figure, so based on the initial premise of this thread they must be in scale with each other.

yeah, but some do it in ways that are unobtrusive and don't feel unreasonable within the context of the game, others do it in ways that feel arbitrary and forced. Things like having to walk in a big old circle that takes forever just to turn 180 degrees for no other reason than that's how the game was designed fall into the second category.- 7015 replies

you know, I get it when manufacturers make multiple versions of the same character all at once, because certain characters will periodically get hot all of a sudden and there will be plenty of room to fill with different sculpts. What I will never be able to wrap my head around is when two figure makers do two figures of the same character IN THE EXACT SAME OUTFIT AND POSE. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-005547 http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-005545 So Max factory announced a damaged Kongo, then immediately after, Movic announces THE EXACT SAME FIGURE. Same character, same pose, same facial expression, just about the same price tag; the only differences appear to be that the Movic version is slightly larger and while the Max Factory one looks absolutely gorgeous, the Movic version looks like a figure released 5 years ago when it still would have looked poorly painted and sculpted. What is this I don't even...
-
yeah, I'm getting it, she has really nice curves and body lines, but the face is just so adorable and perfect, and so are the faces on the Rensouhou-chans. You make the other one sound like a Megahouse release. For the longest time I could never explain what I didn't like about megahouse but I finally get it. 90% of their releases look like they were sculpted and painted by robots, really skillful robots that do crisp sculpts and high quality paint jobs, but robots that lack the ability to translate emotion and liveliness into their figures. It's what sells. When I first got into figures, there where certainly a lot fewer sexy figures and the degree of explicitness you saw in "ero" figures was a lot lower, but even then the stuff that was the most popular and demanded the most money were always the most sexy and explicit. It only makes sense that makers are pumping out more of what people are buying up the most.
