  1. Finally! Sentinel is re-releasing Shin Getter 1 again as a renewal and prototype version. The renewal gets a new weapon and more paint. https://www.taghobby.com/archives/745375 https://www.taghobby.com/archives/745397
  2. Articulation for the DX looks like it will make it a joy to handle and place in dynamic poses. The flip out shin and extending foot is a much better approach for Battroid stability, compared to the unstable and annoying sliding mechanism that Yamato employed. For fighter mode it is great that we don't have to use the underside of the feet to fill out the back end. The DX Battroid also has an overall better silhouette/structure to me, it doesn't suffer from wide hip syndrome like the Yamato. I also like how the head seems to poke out of the hood and be more visible.
  3. This hopefully opens up the door for a VF-19S/F release.
  4. MB Ootori Strike Pack available for pre-order now. Release: March '24 Price: 14000 Yen (excl. tax) https://www.anime-export.com/index.php?product=73617 Of interest might be that Bandai plans to re-release the other Striker Packs again. https://tamashiiweb.com/item/14681/?wovn=en https://www.taghobby.com/archives/741510
  5. Super Mini Pla Baikanfu getting a reissue for Feb '24. https://hobby.dengeki.com/news/2111609/
  6. It's the sunken cheeks sculpting that creates the very pronounced front-chin section. For comparison Bandai's DX take on the VF-1S head (pic borrowed from @sh9000). I'm more disappointed that it is yet another VF-1 toy with add-on side cover bits, instead of trying to be innovative with an integral solution.
  7. For anyone that is still looking -> https://kuramatoys.com/metal-build-kampfer-action-figure/. Pass for me, that's a $40 higher markup compared to AE. Yep, I have read that too and surprised AE is already out of stock. Hopefully it's just a popularity thing for the Alex and not Bandai cracking down.
  8. Compared to say Psycho/Mk. II Gundam which transforms into err... a giant block with wings!? I would say the Destroy Gundam does it better, with a more purposeful and distinguishable "monster mode". And this is coming from someone that rates UC stuff > everything else. The Forbidden to me is a great bad guy Gundam design, it wears its hat with pride. 😛 The Full Mechanics line hasn't been on my radar, but I might get this one. Maybe one day we get a Metal Build of it, now that would be awesome.
  9. Dengeki Hobby posted some further detail shots of the Kämpfer being displayed at the Tokyo Tamashii store. I just noticed that the base has nice touch with those street markings printed on.
  10. Please tell me this will be 1/100 scale. Aside from the usual candidates, a Falguen and Gilgazamune would be great to have. But with the three HMR Dragonars being very good representations, I find it difficult to get excited about model kits now.
  11. Nice official 40th tribute by Sunrise themselves.
  12. The -1J head is fine but, but oof... that -1S head needs some getting used to. Maybe it is the angle, but it looks like there is way too much elongation at the faceplate/chin.
  13. Takara showcasing MPG Seizan, release is this weekend.
  14. Same here, cancelled my YF-29 just last night. I figured I will be able to get this locally before HLJ ever fulfils the backorder. Also the higher shipping costs these days eats up any savings on the actual item, so that it overall tends to be slightly cheaper to go locally. What annoys me with HLJ a bit is that weeks before release they keep sending you reminder mails that you have something on pre-order, then it is release day and... nothing, no information that they could not fulfil or that they put you on backorder – a complete lack of transparency.
  15. Master Grade Narrative Gundam C-Packs. Ver.Ka was unveiled at the latest hobby show. Not sure I care enough and good luck to anyone outside of Japan to get their hands on this easily at normal price.
  16. This came out of nowhere. Not big on the VF-19 Kai either, but hoping Max Factory milks this into the VF-19S/F type. It is refreshing to see the LERX as a block at the back of the Battroid and not incorrectly hanging off the main intakes like how all the toys do it.
  17. I think a lot of the classic LucasArts adventure games would make for great animated productions. I mean Monkey Island would be such a fun watch if done right in regards to story and humor.
  18. The ship CGI stuff that JTVFX does is wonderful, a good understanding and perception for scaling ships/objects properly – something that I would argue is lost in modern productions.
  19. The whole point of this, is that Unix Square is trying their hand at a reinterpreted design of the VF-1. One can like that or not, but coming in here expecting it to be anime/line art accurate is kind of a fallacy. There are already plenty of options for that "accuracy" in toy or model kit form available. Personally I am liking most of it – especially the slimmer chest plate and heat shield not being flush with it as well as the smaller spacing between chest and backplate. A reminder that the VF-1 is supposed to be a compact mecha in Battroid mode and something that is mostly lost with the current toys by Arcadia and Bandai. If I could have my way, I would flip the inner and outer lower leg casing, shorten the fuselage to nose cone transition and I hope the head will sit lower.
