  1. I'm sticking with what I said before - I'll be getting one - but just one - and haven't pre-ordered... yet. Still hoping for a special release of Speaker Pod Gamma... or an announcement of a MAXL... or a VF-17T...
  2. Well, that's all because it should look like this: Though I'll grant you that it still isn't great in GERWALK; certainly not as good as many of the other VFs.
  3. As I recall, it wasn't a '25 that punched a Vajra in the face...
  4. Just unboxed mine. For further size comparison, it's about the size of two sets of VF-25A Super Parts stacked up - it just so happened my Super box was still lying out in that room.
  5. So mine just shipped... and is estimated to be delivered here tomorrow. I will probably have FedEx hold it and get it from them on Wednesday, though.

    1/48 dead?

While I wasn't really around much during the V2 1/60 resurgence, I have a pretty good idea of what it was - to keep everything in the same scale. Only the VF-1s were 1/48 - everything else was 1/60 (or 1/72, for those earlier Plus versions). The Zero releases were all 1/60; the (then-)new Plus releases were all 1/60; it only made sense to make the new update of the VF-1 1/60 again as well. As to why those weren't made in 1/48 - likely due to size, really. A 1/48 VF-1 and a 1/60 YF-19 aren't far off in size; a 1/48 YF-19 would be considerably bigger. Hasegawa does make (or did make) a 1/48 YF-19 fighter mode kit, and it's big. Producing the later VFs in 1/48 leads to larger toys, which don't necessarily sell as well - they'll of course cost more, and people may find it harder to display them due to the size, and thus be less inclined to buy as many.
  7. I happen to have my copy of "Fire Bomber Best Score" sitting on my desk here right now. I'm working on re-transcribing the guitar parts, to have a single guitar score for each song (or at least as much is feasible). I'm doing it not only because I can only play one guitar at a time, but also so that I can print up sheet music that makes more effective use of the page. Having the entire band score is awesome, but it does mean that not a whole lot of the actual song can fit on each page. I am not planning on releasing said re-transcriptions, though, as the actual official score is still easily available and at reasonable prices.
  8. Yeah, but for me at least here in the States, FedEx was quite reasonable - just a little more than half that of EMS. (Which was a bit of a shocker - it's usually more expensive for me to use FedEx than EMS.)
  9. Well, my 25A Supers are at the post office. Will be another few days until I can make it over there to pick them up, though.
  10. FWIW, my Yamato V1 TRU CF has yellowed quite a bit, and was never really on display. Meanwhile, my V1 Max 1A shows no signs of yellowing, and not only has been on display, but is currently on my desk at work, getting plenty of indirect sunlight.
  11. It does look amazing, but I really just don't care all that much for II.
  12. Sounds like we've all got ours shipped then, as I received a notice as well.
  13. But the Protodeviln are only the extra-dimensional component - the soul/sentience that is inhabiting the bodies of the bioweapons; those corporeal forms are not strictly Protodeviln. And again, they don't just inhabit those bodies, but others as well. Though I would say they seem to have some quasi-permanent link to the Evil-series bodies - which can be reasoned in that they became tied to the first bodies they inhabited upon entering this dimension. This is what you said: The Protodeviln are bio-technological weapons developed by the Protoculture that were accidentally inhabited by extradimensional energy beings. The part in red I consider a falsehood; the term Protodeviln really applies to the part in blue - they are, in fact, the extra-dimensional beings. And again, they are capable not only of possessing the bodies of the Evil-series bioweapons - which are those described in the part in red - but also temporarily possessing other bodies. Of course we see Sivil do this a few times, but more importantly for this discussion, Gepelnitch and Gigil spend most of the series not in their Evil-series bodies at all. Wait, how the hell has this turned into a M7 thread now?
  14. You said that the Protodeviln were what the Protoculture created, which is false. The Protoculture created the Evil series and opened the rift or whatever to the extra-dimensional space from whence came the Protodeviln that then possessed the Evil series. There is a distinction there. Also keep in mind that two of the Protodevlin were using other (non-Evil-series) bodies through much of the series. While still tied to the Evil-series bodies, they're not entirely constrained to them. ETA - Also, marathon M7? Sounds good to me. (And I've basically done that... but still in chunks. Hard for me to have the time to do a true marathon for a series of that length.)
  15. The Protodeviln were/are the energy beings; the bodies they were inhabiting were the Evil-series bioweapons developed by the Protoculture.
  16. Same here. I actually prefer the 171 over the 25 (maybe it's just the M7 in me), but never bought one after hearing the horror stories.
  17. So you're saying that you've physically measured the inside of representative samples of the aforementioned brands, including Masei? Because again, the published sizing charts are all in agreement. As I don't know of anybody around here that carries Masei, I can't go see for myself, but all of the other brands do line up with one another, and all provide the same sizing charts. ETA - I'm not trying to be antagonistic; if you've actually been able to try out some Masei helmets firsthand and have compared them to the others yourself, great... But your comment about a standard Medium being a 24" is just plain wrong; the major players all publish virtually the same sizing chart, right in line with Masei there. My firsthand experience says that the published measurements are indeed pretty close - I have a 60cm head, and do take a large in those other major brands. The Masei helmets might not fit their sizing, perhaps running one or more sizes askew, but that doesn't mean that the other brands are actually that big. (61cm for a medium? No, I don't think so.) I myself am partial to Shoei.
  18. Hey, I've been saying that Arcadia really needs to put out a Fz-109... I would buy a bunch.
  19. Not sure what helmets you are looking at, as those are typical sizes for motorcycle helmets - right in line with all of the other major manufacturers (Shoei, Arai, HJC, etc.)
  20. They need a 1/60 Fz-109 to justify the cockpit gimmick.
  21. This is how I've interpreted that stance: While there isn't a set canon on specifics, there is a fixed/known/canon overall timeline of the key events, as well as canon identification of the key players. However, the exact actions taken by those players did not necessarily have to be what we have seen in one iteration or another. For example, in the Macross universe, there really was a Space War I, and a Supernova Project, and a Protodeviln incident, etc. In each of those, some of the key players are well-known, as well as their overall contributions and/or positions. In Space War I, all of the main characters actually participated, and Minmay was certainly the key to ending the war. But the specific actions and relationships are up for debate; we only know their general roles and the outcomes, but the story in-between is somewhat up in the air. Hikaru and Misa end up together, but how did that relationship develop exactly - like SDFM or like DYRL? That is where there isn't necessarily a clear line. The common comparison has always been to war films; they are all depicting historical events with varying degrees of accuracy. None are really "the way it happened" in terms of specifics, even though they may properly depict larger events correctly. I actually applaud Kawamori for taking this approach; it allows for a lot more artistic flexibility (because things aren't completely set in stone) while still allowing the franchise to have some stability as well (since you can't completely rewrite things either). And it's also more realistic, if you think of all of the material actually being historical record - I'm not necessarily saying that they're all in-universe films, but rather that they reflect historical records rather than being actual fact. History is always interpreted differently in different records by different observers.
  22. If it comes with the FB figures, I will buy one. If it comes with Speaker Pod Gamma, I will buy at least one. If they promised production of a VF-11MAXL and a VF-17T Custom if they sold enough, I would buy quite a few just for that chance. But otherwise, I'm not sure. Even as a huge M7 fan, it will be hard to justify unless the price is right, as I already have the Yamato one - and as has been noted, if I wanted another, it's not like they're hard to find right now.
  23. I tend to prefer GERWALK myself. For VF-1's, I tend to have a near-even split on GERWALK and fighter. Battroid is only really used for those wearing GBP. On the later VFs, I have more of a mix, including a lot more battroid; but right now both the YF-19 and VF-17 are on display in GERWALK. GERWALK is also so iconically Macross. After switching the Max 1A I keep on my desk at work to GERWALK a week or so ago, it made one of the other guys in the office notice it when he was walking in one day. Turns out he's a huge Transformers fan - and of course likes the VF-1 because of the whole Jetfire thing.
