  1. HLJ, notably, charges when the item is stocked.
  2. Boat's sailed on that one, only things you're going to get under $100 is maybe an HMR or Kitz Concept figure.
  3. On the bright side, at current exchange rates ¥35,000 is about $245. So a lot better than what it looks like at first glance, should be under $300 with shipping to the US.
  4. Finally got in my HMR Max and Kakizaki, along with some metal build stuff.
  5. Got super lucky and just snagged one of the mechanic edition from Mandarake. Ouch that shipping cost though, ¥9,100 to California.
  6. I mean, I did end up with 4x YF-19 full set...
  7. I've got a pair of Arcadia PFs, and a Yamato. Surprised they've gone back up so much after the Arcadia release.
  8. That was before they reached an agreement, now it's only the OG series that HG has, which is why anything from TV/DYRL are still Japan-only distribution, no overseas VF-1 figures.
  9. The $170 is pretty ridiculous even including international shipping, and that comment was before any US retailers had better pricing. I've been majorly disappointed in general with the US cost, it ought to be cheaper per unit to ship 50 by ship than ship one by air, yet the prices are still higher in almost all cases for the ones making their way to the US on ships. Not to mention, high shipping costs can easily be reduced by shipping multiple things together (say via HLJ's Private Warehouse, or buying multiples). I'd much rather pay low item price and high shipping than high item price and free shipping, all else being equal.
  10. Be that as it may, even fast shipping on a HMR is typically under $40, often under $30. We're being charged an extra $50-$60. Plus tax, and we're being taxed on that shipping surcharge included in the base price. Over where I am, id be paying almost $200, rather than $140 shipped. And getting it later.
  11. Skinny legs: better fighter, ugly battroid. Fat legs: ugly fighter, better battroid. Curse of anime magic. Choose your poison.
  12. Oops, forgot they have a Yen option, if I'd waited and paid in yen could have saved $16 across 2 of them. Oh well.
  13. For that mix, I'd definitely go multi-monitor, and probably with horizontal mount 2-3 screens. Maybe 1 vertical for the writing, but vertical is pretty useless for 3D CAD work or gaming.
  14. If you work a lot with documents I find having a second vertical screen off to the side works well. Not very useful if you're looking more at websites or the like however.
  15. Waiting on my Full Metal Panic Metal Builds showing up before I ship mine out...
  16. Just going to say that Shagri-La Frontier is my peak anime of the season, even the OP is a banger.
  17. And then episode 20 hits, and you realize it was all an elaborate ruse to make you lower your guard.
  18. FWIW, I got 4, and every one had an intact head laser.
  19. I consider myself fortunate I only ever got into Metal Builds (and GFFMCs and other equivalents) for certain shows. Wing, Full Metal Panic mainly. If I was going to try and collect for SEED or 00 I'd be pulling my hair out right about now.
  20. Thanks for the heads up, also picked up the Calibre Wings F-14 "Ocean Low Pass Diorama Base" stand that's on sale right now.
  21. This arc has a very long buildup, though we're finally getting to the climax. I like they tried something different with integrating both Chise and Elias into a more social setting, but yeah the slice-of-life stuff with these quirky teenagers gets boring.
