  1. Sorry, as a mechanical engineer going to have to roll my eyes suuuuuuper hard at that take. CAD lets people like me put onto "paper", and into the real world exactly what is in our heads, and do it with good tolerancing, well defined curves, and straight lines/flat panels. What you see with "hand made" before was a machinist going over the molds with a file until the test parts actually fit together the way they were supposed to, or something approaching it. The tolerances were huge, the gaps were ugly, the lines are screwed up because things had to be tweaked until they fit. What you are actually complaining about is the designs themselves, not the methods people are using to make them. Also, the fact that you are lumping CAD, AI, and CGI together is frankly insulting.
  2. Considering the main US distro is probably coming over on pallets, rather than individual boxes, might be a bit better? Of course, that's before it gets shipped inside the US, so might be just as bad.
  3. Huh, I've always been careful to not touch, even after a full day of drying, due to how fragile the chrome effect is.
  4. Does that work well? I've used Molotow before, but never tried putting anything on top.
  5. Glad you're enjoying it ๐Ÿ‘ Never even actually opened the box, just been displaying the basic version instead.
  6. Mine showed up at the proxy a few days back, figured I'd check YJA and see if I wanted to throw anything else in the box along with (don't tell my GF).
  7. Yeah, the dark silver rather than white/light grey is just awful, and overall it looks like a cheap knockoff.
  8. Wow, they still have Megumi Hayashibara doing the voices?
  9. I bought new stuff from them through WarBricks (California) and was able to get missing parts shipped directly from Cobi for free. One of their ships (HMS Warspite) was missing like 10 parts.
  10. Just sitting here, waiting until the US distributors I ended up going with actually ship... And hoping no broken head lasers when these show up...
  11. FWIW, I was able to contact Arcadia and get the replacement leg shipped to my Tenso address quite easily, with basic google translated emails to them directly. And yes, I did explain I was in the US and bought through a vendor that couldn't help me directly.
  12. Well, guess I'm still not regretting getting a couple Yamato 21s. I do like the new legs on Bandai much more, and hopefully this should pose much better (the Yamato is a floppy spindly mess when it comes to posing)
  13. Much better than bbts and other US retailers. Still a bit more than the $230 plus proxy fees and international shipping I'm paying.
  14. Unfortunately for anyone in California, they do charge CA sales tax here. Just shy of $340 shipped.
  15. FWIW, the VF-25 and VF-27 are not bad at all. The 31 is even quite good, and can pose without a stand even, and is fairly solid in all modes. The SV-262 is actually really good, better than the DX figure as far as transformation goes.
  16. Fortunately not much need for a quick sale. The list of what I'm selling off is over 150 entries long. I'll put up a few for sale threads once I'm done pricing everything out.
  17. Thanks! That's at least a baseline, $50 or so before international shipping and proxy fees for a used one. So like $80ish might be reasonable for one That's in good condition then?
  18. Does anyone have an idea what the current going price is for a Doyusha 1:144 diecast VF-19a? I am putting together a list of things to sell after moving, and can't find any recent listings, aside from $150 out of stock on ebay.
  19. I see you skipped the Bandai 1:72 transforming VF-1. That was a good call, itโ€™s awful.
  20. Well, I'll give it a shot through my proxy, given the amount they're going to charge on the US P-bandai store will probably be well over $300
  21. I have a set if you want to borrow for a comparison. Since we're in the same area.
