  1. So, the normal pre-orders will be this Friday JST, or Thursday night for those of us in the US then?
  2. I'm good, got mine off Mandarake.
  3. Recent sales look to be mostly 60,000-63,000 range. Though someone paid 69,000, and another paid 52,500.
  4. The use of metal only in the places where it's needed for durability/function is something I can get behind. Making a bunch of parts metal just because only adds more stress and weight on the joints. I'd rather have metal pins and joints holding light flexible plastic that won't make the joints end up drooping in a few years. Metal feet are nice too, as they help stabilize the battroid form, and don't generally need to be painted over. Most of the plastic panels we wouldn't want them to be steel due to weight, and absolutely not aluminum as they'd dent and break on top of costing 3x as much, if not more.
  5. Perfect Transformation in my knowledge means the transformation is perfect, it does not require parts forming. So yeah, I agree with you.
  6. Saw them live, was a good time.
  7. I'll wait until HLJ or somewhere else has them, so I at least won't be spending $20 just to ship 3 diecast hotwheels sized valks.
  8. I'd love it if they would do a special presale for people who actually go to see the shows they buy tickets for, rather than transferring them. Seems like it would be really easy to track...
  9. Not saying it's wrong, but when I can (still) get EMS in the sub-$40 range from Japan, I really have to wonder why their shipping is more than 2x as expensive, from a similarly distant region. I don't suppose there's anyone in the south-bay who wants to combine orders to cut the shipping costs down a bit?
  10. I was going to grab it, even at $70ea for 2. Then I saw the shipping was just under $60. For 4month boat shipping. Or $100 for airmail. Nope, nevermind. We good.
  11. Tried to get tickets to see Yoasobi late last week. Spent an hour during the presale and another 2 during the normal sale. No dice. Now the tickets that were $50-$100 are $500+, so I guess I'm not going to go see them. Man, I despise scalpers.
  12. It looks a bit like what they put at the wrist on gundam figures, so check the arms? hole in the center would be where the balljoint goes through.
  13. I have contacted them, but doubt I'll get anything aside from maybe an "oops" coupon. Mainly I'd like them to just do better next time, I've ordered thousands of $ of stuff from them over the years and this is the first time I've seen damage like this. Usually their packaging is quite good.
  14. I bit for the Ornithopter so I could grab the Micro Rocket Launchpad (which just showed up today).
  15. Looks like no articulated wings on these either. Doyusha VF-1/YF-19/YF-21 all had articulated wings.
  16. Alternatively, aside from refresh rate and number of colors, e-ink is just plain better. Massive increase in battery life, which also allows for smaller batteries and smaller/lighter devices. Much easier on the eyes than a backlit LCD/LED screen Can be more easily viewed in bright light/outdoors Personally, apart from watching youtube, I find I much prefer the new e-ink tablet to my phone or ipad. I bought it to use as a mobile textbook during my masters, but I've ended up using it for a lot more than that. Also works well for keeping tabletop gaming reference books on. For what it's worth, it has a much better refresh rate than older e-ink devices. Under a second, or 2-3 per sec in fast or B+W modes. Haven't had any refresh rate annoyances when taking notes or reading, or when using the browser.
  17. I was really surprised that there's so few e-ink readers aside from Kindles. I imagine there will be more coming now that e-ink is cheaper, and the Kindles are getting loaded with advertisements, plus how they only work with kindle books from Amazon. It's wild to me that the tablet and cellphone market is so diverse, but options for e-ink are so limited.
  18. Bit of a different topic, but still electronics: Was in the market for an e-reader/tablet the other day for something to take notes and read books on, ended up getting a Boox Tab Ultra C Pro. Quite happy with it, runs android, has a SD card slot, camera, good built-in reader software with the ability to take notes on the files. Built-in note app as well, and a scanner with the camera. I've had it for a month and only charged it up once so far. I wouldn't use it to watch videos, since the color e-ink display only has 150 dpi (300dpi B+W), and the refresh rate isn't great for videos, but for reading/internet/note taking it's great.
  19. Yes, tales of wedding rings. Fairly well done (and well animated) check-box isekai harem. It's nice that there isn't a whole lot of relationship drama or misunderstandings in it, and the characters themselves aren't obnoxious (which is unusual for a harem show...)
  20. It's a shame that it didn't have a better budget. The characters and plot (and plot) are all decent to good, the manga is fun and has great art. Then it's getting upstaged in terms of looking good as an anime by that harem isekai this season.
  21. Some of y'all seriously overestimate the collectibles market for Macross, and underestimate how much money it costs to start up a new production run, even for an existing mold.
  22. To be fair, voltron has a much simpler transformation, and given the era was probably designed with implementation as a toy in mind (like Transformers). The YF-21 was designed to look cool, with transformation accuracy a secondary concern, and toy viability not even considered. I'll be happy if the YF-21 looks good in Battroid and has good articulation. Since I already have the Yamato for fighter mode.
  23. They also made the VF-1 and SV-262.
