Well, immediate past few TWE items like VF-25F Tornado, 25S Armored and Bogue's 262Hs were available for general release in US. So likely this will follow same hybrid sales model. But ordering direct from Japan have always been cheaper.

This movie might finally wake me up from superhero fatigue. There’s really lots of characters though, hopefully the main ones have enough screen time.

That is true, but I'm thinking more in broader terms since the 25,29 and 27 share the same engineering, and the 27 do have the exact same floppiness-over-time issues. Anyway, I'll just defer to what the community calls it down the road when referring to the different improvements (in reality, it's what @jenius will label them since his reviews will be the de-facto reference haha )

We lumped discussions of this item into the Mospeada thread. The discussion started many pages before the link I posted, in between other Mospeada items, but generally you are looking at good perceived quality, given item is actually made by Moshow and Toynami is only the distributor. There are many pre-production early review videos posted on later pages to have a good idea on how item will actually handle.

I remember it initially looked a bit off to me too. I think it was due to the deeper and more prominent panel lines of the Ghost over the very fine panel lines of the 0A. During handling, the Ghost's plastics is also of a rougher surface type characteristic of Yammie valks of that era, as compared to the smoother and mostly painted surface of the Arcadia valk. But at normal display viewing distance, it didn't bother me much then.

Small incremental improvements.. so now it has dual shoulder screws. How many versions so far? v1 Original. v2 Renewal with single hip screw. v2.5 Revival with 3 hip screws. v2.6 Revival with 2 hip screws. v2.7 Revival with 2 hip screws and 2 shoulder screws.

Its nearly the same 1:100 exchange rate Bandai uses Arcadia still hasn't made any steps towards proper international distribution since WWM started. It could be due to license restrictions, but it could also be very well by their own choice. The Garlands they made also seem to be focused on JP-only and not much different from the way they handled Macross. Haha spot on! My 0A has only been in Fighter and Gerwalk for fear of that.

Oops didn’t realise the group settings are now private. Here’s the full conversation for better context:

VF-0A PF is the only PF Arcadia hasn't made for the VF-0 mold, I do hope they will announce one soon after this. On other hand, I can imagine this normal version being a welcome re-issue since the first issue 0A was always quite a gamble due to the hips. Though, I'm curious what redesign they are making for this area, and if there are other stealth changes. On side note, I think this is the first Arcadia re-issue since start of pandemic that incurs a price increase.

Cyrus has made several replies regarding the Battle Pod situation at BBTS. Best go to the comments here. Essentially, those who had PO’ed before it coming into stock at BBTS (& other stores) should get the pilot figure. But he wasn’t aware how BBTS was going implement it, so he will communicate with BBTS to sort it out.

The Yamato Ghost fits the Arcadia VF-0. Couple of examples here and here. But small caveats: 1. The Ghosts canards will have some pinched tension, due to Arcadia's VF-0 backplate/chest being slightly narrower than Yamato's. 2. I have not personally tried, but heard the wing missile pods & tank will be quite loose on Arcadia's. So a bit of sticky tape or tack will help.

I miss Arcadia valks. Why do I feel compelled to PO this even if I already have it..

I just checked the current Battle Pod listing again on KC's site. It says USD132.90, a 20% discount off the USD166.60 list price. I'm curious, what was the price for those who PO-ed when it came with the soldier? I don't think it was USD166.60 or thereabouts?

At this point I think BBTS likely does not want to deal with bearing additional shipping & logistics of the pilot figures. If I'm not wrong, even after KC updated their own listing some time back for the Battle Pod to NOT include the pilot, BBTS still had the old listing with pilot up, and likely received quite some additional orders between then and now when reviews of the Battle Pod started making its rounds. Is it because KC did not inform of BBTS of the change for new orders then? Whatever it is, it certainly makes it a headache for BBTS to determine which customers were eligible for pilot and which weren't, potentially facing with claims / refunds / returns down the road from customers who receive Battlepods and not the pilot figures. I think those who PO'ed early from BBTS with the pilot figure to also contact KC/Cyrus directly and see what he says.

Maybe their mecha have several sizes, just like clothes. It's such a tight fit for the soldiers, so they could almost be like some sort of wearable lol. This is why we see them smaller or bigger depending on scenes.

Mine arrived today. So just some info on the weight. The toy with the Tamashii brown box weighs in at 1892g. Without the Tamashii brown box, it is at 1676g. As side note, after using plastic wrapper for the VF-1D within the brown box, Bandai opted to use tissue wrapping this time. I ordered from a non-conventional source from Hong Kong this time (I'm also based in SEA). The brown Tamashii was wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap, and went into a shipping box just a smidge larger than it. Shipping box stock was of a thin variety, but crucially all corners were protected by the black plastic corner protectors which folks who get stuff from KC will be familiar with. Due to the smaller & lighter than expected shipping box plus protective packaging, the whole weight came to 2349g.

I do know that NNG's private warehouse is a very rigid system, and doesn't really work as most other vendors do. They really shouldn't name it Private Warehouse anyway due to how inflexible it is. The closest to NNG's system appears to be Amiami's, but I've never tested combining orders from the latter as it was always single-shipment orders over the years. But yeah, the restocking fee that they try to force upon customers due to screw ups on their part is pretty scummy. This might be useful - at Mandarake the 25S Armored is listed with the box dimensions and weight (1670g): https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1281161426&lang=en Mandarake's shipping carton weight for item this size is usually around 800-1000g, so the 2600g shipping weight sounds about right. You can also log into Mandarake to see the various shipping costs of this item to your location, and see if they line up with what YYK has quoted you.

Thanks for sharing. I guess the same shenanigans are still happening at NNG then, even if it feels like these incidences have reduced quite a bit during the past 1 or 2 years.
-
I guess even if they did, folks would be skeptical seeing how the 3-screw set up for the past few 25/29 releases were supposed to solve the looseness but half the time it did nothing & in cases went the other way instead (loose hips straight out of the box). At least Bandai is showing some pro-activeness for revising yet again this design quite so soon instead of waiting for the next... Reborn version or something lol. If only they show the same initiative by fixing the arm & leg connection issues for the DX VF-1 in Fighter mode.. Must have missed your issues with NNG.. what were they again? I'm cautious but mostly optimistic with my experience with them so far.

So weird that the Japan-only rule is being enforced more tightly than Macross releases. At least with the Macross international embargo, the Japanese web stores are still able to list them for international customers, but not this Tread.
