    These are now out in the wild. There’s some assembly needed; it comes in 3 pieces. The wings & back plate are a single piece, the vertical stabs & backpack are another, & then there’s the rest of it for which the former 2 pieces plug into. What’s surprising is both the wing & vertical stab pieces are made of some sort of PVC, which makes them quite bendy. Not sure if other Tomica’s are made this way, but honestly thought any plastic parts would minimally be hard plastic.

    Aaarghh.. it would be so great if the Regult & Glaug were released. The whole set will make perfect desktop items - paperweight, play, conversation piece, Monopoly token, stapler holder etc..

    Don't forget to add KC's shipping into the comparison. I checked back the PO price direct from KC back in 2020, it was only $70 before shipping. Costs must have risen a lot in the intervening years for KC to increase the price that much to $100. Is this a good example of how KC may cost themselves out of business if they keep delaying stuff? But then again, we do get 2 figures instead of 1 for Dana..

    Oops I didn't make the link earlier between Bandai's and Takani's art. Too bad Bandai didn't make a sample of Milia's GBP. Although Max's look alright, I am thinking her's might look too striking as I imagine hers being color swapped of Max's. Haha not only BBTS didn't update the pic, but they didn't update the price either. It's USD100 on KC's site now.

    Hmm dark chrome.. I think you are right. Absolute-ly love these. Wished both the 1S & 1J have different pose instead of just head swaps. Even more, wished Bandai made more varieties of them.

    Having only the VF-17S so far, am casually interested in obtaining all, but depends on when they pop up at Mandarake to consolidate with other stuff I happen to be looking for. Sometime ago, 3 of those did, but got cart-jacked as I was pondering what else to add to the package lol.

    ZZZzZzzzzzZZZZZZZZ... another production spot taken up that could have been given to so many other better releases. Yup Bandai being totally random again. I wonder what's the need to call it Revival this time? Perhaps matte finishing now changed to glossy. This is the only sensible reason, but just not compelling enough..

    Great find So far I’m seeing 3 different finishes - Matt chrome, piano black, smoked clear. Am I missing anything else? I think I’m with you on this lol.. but that price tag is still a killjoy.

    From memory, I don't think any VF-27 Revivals were teased. The only other Frontier valks teased were the VF-25S & RVF-25, and even so they were the old renewals put beside the 25G Revival at Tamashii Nations 2022. Will Bandai go ahead with those? Not hoping much, going by Bandai's pattern these past few years. As soon as a mold doesn't seem to sell well (the 25G Revival), Bandai stops releasing more.

    ^^ Having a refreshed appreciation for the VF-27 now & that’s the great thing about Macross collecting. It’s a cycle of top VF-of-the-moment to me, & these videos are timely.

    Bandai Micro Macross VF-17S. Almost pulled trigger a few times on one of these over the years, but finally did recently. Usually don’t like toys in sealed blisters, because at this stage I'm always reluctant to destroy packagings. Don’t think I will open this, so will display it as it is and it’s a good thing the blister is still clear & never / hardly yellowed considering its age.

    This is apparently an Akane Hououji, of whom & what I have totally no idea. It’s just one of those occasional cheap prize figures I throw in when buying stuff from Mandarake, so to get lower unit shipping.

    Hmm frontal Battroid looks much nicer than the Fighter pics, if only because the clear parts are now mostly hidden from view.

    I can't help but cynically wonder that KC didn't get enough orders for both Rick & Roy Heavy Armors, and now pushing out the M&M Armor to produce all of them together.. LOL! The winning caption..

    I’m guessing they are vintage kits just from the name Imai alone, but they look so crisp & modern. It reminds of something I read how once upon a time the only way to have good & accurate sculpt was through kits & not toys. Nowadays that bridge is almost closed.

    Agreed. I guess I was reading too much into that last bit of quoted paragraph, and in hindsight it doesn't really make sense to design a VF to take advantage of the HG shortcut transformation whilst ignoring perfect transformation toys.
