Just checked both ETAs on display and not noticing any cracks too. Others red & green still in their boxes, hopefully are ok.

This blows. The loose ball joints on previous DX'es were bad enough, never thought ratchet joints will have the same issue..

Got my Max figure in last week. In hand it didn't turn out as bad as I thought, maybe because my expectations were already low lol. Generally, when fiddling with it up close there are some cringey details, mainly the cheap looking material used for his white uniform, and his rather meh facial sculpt. On other hand, the cut of his outfit has been done rather well with a rather nice fit for a figure at this scale, and didn't seem as ill-measured as what I remembered from early pics. At normal display distance, it turns out to be rather decent and glad that I didn't have that expected buyer's remorse. A note about these KC cloth outfits - I hope some of the PVC detailing printed on the cloth do not dry out and crack prematurely. Now that I have Max, I think of Miriya and am now wondering whatever happened to KC's plan for her? We've been so caught up with their KS campaign, subsequent announcements of Destroids, Glaug & what not that she seems to have been forgotten... Not a sculpt or even artwork of her, when she should already have been released together with the metallic arcade VF-1s.

Epic live version.

It's a contradiction of sorts in Fighter.. I like the overall sculpt, especially the sexy curvature behind the cockpit but there's that weird abrupt cliff at the neck cover. The intakes look great here - it's a normal feature on most other valk toys, but a first for a Fire Valk (?), but that knee gap is distracting and looks even more prominent than Arcadia's. Couldn't Bandai make that black area red or something to mask it a bit? No complains on Battroid sculpt though. The legs are long yet suitably chunky. I'm just concerned that it doesn't look like there's a cockpit rotation gimmick, to enable us viewing Basara sitting inside the egress hatch. This is all the more reason for me to hold on to the other 1/60, or even hunt one on top of this. It's always the little Yamato / Arcadia extra little touches that really endears. Meanwhile, just recording for posterity:

I'll be getting this too, in the same way I got both DX & Arcadia YF-19. I hope Bandai also implements the pilot egress hatch in Battroid, and include the seat rotation gimmick like Arcadia. No partsforming seat please (looking at you DX 21). Great observation. Well, we should be getting more images very soon. Quite low key excited to see what new gimmicks this comes with.

I don't recall the stand plastics being made of the type that can become brittle, both white or black. Perhaps a couple of the semi-circle prongs did come off the gate right out of the box, but they were held with very thin sprues. The stand rods felt pretty robust. But I never used any of the black ones, as I felt they were pretty unsightly. For the figures with black stands and some of the later white ones, I went with ridiculously cheap KO transparent Tamashii Stage Act stands instead.

Niceee.. I'm sure the eagle-eyed will spot some interesting details from above pic. I'm wondering if the mold will have more similarities with the DX YF-19, or will be like the HMR VF-19 ie based closely on Yamcadia's. I'm seeing the gap at the knee extension, so I'm gonna assume the latter. Guess we'll wait another week to know more on 24th.

The HMR VF-0D also has somewhat white, or rather, unpainted greyish landing gears.

I've never transformed the 19P yet. I'm a bit weird - the more well made something is, the more I'm reluctant to handle it. But no such qualms about any of the HMR though, so the recently announced HMR VF-19P comes at a good time.

Is this referring to the TN store exclusive DX Chogokin VF-1J Hikaru?

Welcome news indeed. I guess many missed out on 1/60 VF-19P, but also great news for those who have it.

I’ll double it to $40!

Macross DYRL in 4K UHD with English Subtitles
MKT replied to GGemini's topic in Movies and TV Series
It was first seen in the TV series as well: https://macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/vf-x-4.htm -
Over the past few years, I've been retroactively picking up older Macross & non-Macross PVC figures - oldest being stuff made in the early 2000s. I noticed PVC figures made in that decade have the highest incidence of what is sometimes termed as 'PVC weep'. It could perhaps be due to the age of the figures themselves, but it is most likely due to the plasticiser mix as @pengbuzz mentioned above, going by the smattering of user reports that I could still find on back when those figures were still relatively new. CM's Macross Figures are also susceptible to this, but as waves (parts) get released over that decade, they appear to have improved in plastic stability. Miria 639 is also made by CM's, but unfortunately they are not only by far the worst weepers in their Macross line up, but the most prolific weeper of all figures I own. So far, soaking in mild soap and brushing with toothbrush work to get rid of the stickiness, but with Miria 639 I would have to do it semi-regularly, maybe twice a year, to prevent a noticeable puddle of goo under her feet. The good thing is, the paint doesn't appear to be affected with the weeping & subsequent cleanings, but I think one day the whole figure will just melt away into nothing.

Yeah the weathering doesn't look that good, and I'm not really particularly fussy about weathering realism. Also just catching up on some reviews for Roy's 1S.. Kudos to ThreeZero for fixing the ultra stiff shoulders for it and the 1J Weathered.

I guess it makes more sense now why Satelight not involved in the new Macross, & why Kawamori has been doing more direct self-promotion lately.

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
MKT replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If not mistaken, the current reissue (I think it's the 3rd issue) has been delayed for a whole year since its planned release date, from Feb 2024 to now latest being Apr 2025. This is the same as other Arcadia products as well over the past year like the reissue VF-1S Hikaru & Roy. Arcadia Garlands have generally been quite easy to get after release, but that said I would not put much hope that the Apr 2025 release will happen; there will likely be further delays. Here's an original issue at Mandarake: https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1146997318&lang=en- 818 replies
