  1. So, in addition to dual screw at the hip, the other improvement is that the ball that goes into the hip is now fully metal instead of half-plastic. Too bad reviewer didn't compare with the previous Revivals with the 3 hip screws..
  2. I guess we can expect this version of Alto to also have dual thigh screws..
  3. Aside the panel lining, the paint on Rick's 1J give off a nice impression of painted metal like real jets. The M&M 1J continues this impression under that display lighting and looks lovely.
  4. Another nostalgia fest watching this lol. It didn't have the best gameplay but was very serviceable and captured the mood nicely.
  5. The 2-screws on the hips for this release is a surprising change.. It’s quite a head scratcher how 2 is better than 3 when 3 wasn’t that effective on the other Revivals. I wonder what other stealth changes were made..
  6. Great price for something that is the equivalent of the DX YF-19 Full-Pack, but for the bare-bones re-issued DX YF-19 price. How times have changed in the DX vs Arcadia pricing..
  7. The thing that sticks out most to me is that shiny, exposed screw head at the missile arm hinge joint lol. Charming in an old-school way.
  8. Yeah the 60fps interpolation is definitely a bit jarring. I usually never favor de-noising as well, because film grain does lend it a certain look appropriate of its era. On other hand, this does such a great job to make everything crystal clear, and pausing it anywhere certainly makes each frame look like how a crisp cel is when freshly produced before any degradation over the years. Edit: The more I watch it, the more impressive it looks. The color is vibrant, the contrast is great, and details in darker areas are so much more noticeable than before.

Yup raw acrylic sheets aren't that cheap, and when converted to ready-made consumer display solutions the prices go up a fair bit. Back when I set up my display room, there weren't many cost effective, dust proof wall display options. So I decided to use spare Ikea Billy shelving to make some wall-mounted boxes and bought acrylic sheets as the cover. Here's one example: I always thought I would be making more of these, but now the ready-made acrylic shoeboxes are available and they work great being so flexible. Put on top of Detolfs, or line a couple or so on a wall shelf, on a desk, between books in a bookshelf, or just simply stack them up.

I have some of these boxes too and they do make nice little displays that can be slotted anywhere. For a long time, most cheap acrylic boxes do not have enough transparency until these became available.
  11. Nosecone issue sucks. But doesn't look to be a release-wide issue, based on other pics currently floating around. Fingers crossed.
  12. I'm just wondering, how canon are the missiles? I'm so used to remembering micro-missiles being fired instead that I don't really recall full-sized ones being used. But then again these Sentinel Mospeada mechs are technically reinterpretations.
  13. Quite a lot of awesomeness here. I've never paid much attention to Wipeout but the Piranha here looks fantastic.
  14. Missed this tread before. @sc_planet this VF-2SS looks really great and elevated the HMR to another level!
  15. No critical feedback, but just big kudos on the awesome pics & great build @tekering.
  16. That's looking good @Graham. The cockpit canopy on the previous Renewal 25S have a very light purple tint, but on this Revival it looks to be almost entirely absent. Not expecting new engineering changes, so likely it'll have floppy joints almost immediately once the armors are installed lol. But am just happy to be close to getting this after so many years. AE just notified mine is now in PW.
  17. Mine is pretty flushed too, no issues there.
  18. 'Put on hold' is the best thing that can be said now while the KS is still running.
  19. K.Meano is also the same one interviewed for the old Forbes article by @Cacophanus. https://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2015/12/06/meet-t-rex-the-awesome-mecha-toy-designers-youve-likely-never-heard-of/
  20. I didn't know about that the other knee joint either, so that is good to know. Great review as always @jenius, I enjoyed both the written and video format.
  21. Precisely this. So glad they don’t have to compromise anything on the sculpt. On FB, the designer for this Tread toy Keiichiro Maeno has posted he will be at Anime Los Angeles in January next year. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1A4Ba1xfk3/?mibextid=K35XfP He actually just left T-REX to set up his own firm, but whilst he was there he also designed all the Sentinel Mospeada stuff, & his work goes back all the way to the Beagle Ride Armors. In the comments section he also mentioned being involved with the Yamato SDF-1 & the YF-21 (should be the 1/60) as well.
  22. It's interesting the arm sliders are nowhere nearly as tight as some copies, so looks like only affect certain examples. Looking forward to the full review!
