  1. 90’s anime wasn’t too bad, but Macross 7 isn’t the easiest show to watch. 50ish episodes plus the ova’s and a whole lot of reused animation. I find it a bit tough myself, but I’ve never watched it with non bootleg subs.
  2. The dumb part is that I kinda remember missiles being fired, but I never thought to wonder where they came from. I do have to admit that most of the time it was a video cassette that I was watching and they probably just didn’t show well on there
  3. Macross II is a little weird for sure, but still fun for what it is. I hadn’t watched in a while since I only had the video tapes. I kinda thought the relationships were kinda strange in that one, especially towards the end. The whole Sylvie, Hibiki thing kinda came out of nowhere and then Ishtar finding them and just oh ok. The action is entertaining, but I kinda would’ve liked more time showing the details of the mecha. To get a good look at everything, it helps to be familiar with the images before watching, cause there are quite a few things that barely get shown more than a few seconds at a time. I really wish the Metal Siren got some more screen time
  4. I’ve seen the preorders for it and I do like this in comparison to a lot of other third party stuff. Most of the third party items kinda have a junky kind of look to them, while this one has a more elegant style to it
  5. I saw something about this a couple years ago, and I’m kinda hoping it just sticks satelites, cause my head keeps thinking about them trying that with people inside and a lot of barf
  6. I was pretty surprised as well. Until you mentioned it the other day, I had no idea of its existence. Even google searching, you gotta be specific about the missile backpack or else just the three color variations pop up and most sites only mention those. I couldn’t even find a line art or anything about it, just a couple screenshots of that scene. I don’t even know if they show up anywhere else in the movie
  7. It looks rather rounded and would probably be tough to do a two part mold. I think splitting it into three would be easier. Two halves on the outside for structure and the kneecap attached at the front like with the kit
  8. I don’t think it would be complicated at all, just they’d have to change the design a little. If they did it like the kit, it still had a seam in the middle of the lower leg, but they did a separation line around the knee cap that wasn’t in the design. It would definitely look better though since the line going straight through the knees look odd, especially on the right leg with the step
  9. Nah, that’s just a limitation of toy manufacturing. To get the piece out of the mold it usually needs to be at least a two piece mold. You can get around that for a design like this easily in model kits, since the builder can fill in the seam. But in a toy it’s a tough design to get around unlike the scopedog lower leg design.
  10. Wave is doing 1/100 destroid kits that could help with the hmr. No Spartan or Monster, but the Phalanx, Tomahawk and defender
  11. The fatty is a different design than the scopedog. The calves are separate and the knee caps as well, while the fatty is one piece in the art. They’d have to do a redesign on the knee and lower part of the legs.
  12. I guess it depends on how accurate they wanted to make it. They’d have had the redesign the panels quite a bit, but it would be a way to have no seams. This is still a prototype, and they’ll probably be less noticeable than they are here
  13. Yeah, the other stuff definitely isn’t what bugs me, just the animation. There may be a good story in the upcoming episodes and the character changes don’t seem as out of place as they did in the recent Batman cartoon on prime. I still think that Penguin change was way out of place.
  14. They did a lot of changes to the characters in this version, but I still say the biggest problem is the non animation. There’s ways to do limited animation and make it look great, but the artwork has to look good to start with and the art here is basic at best. The Maxx is a great example of limited animation working wonders, but that’s mainly because the artwork looked great and kinda tricks you into thinking there’s more going on than there actually is. This show just has a bland look devoid of detail and when things aren’t moving, it feels like nothing is happening on screen, even during the action scenes
  15. He-Man was such a big character growing up, and Morris the cat was so iconic that as a kid I had an orange one named after him.
  16. All that extra weight would definitely crush that little ankle joint
  17. I didn’t realize there were more than three variants. I like the Gold one best, but it’s gonna be tough to find space for these, especially if they start doing tv armors as well.
  18. Found a picture from a google search.I think I always thought those were background lights and never realized they were optional missile packs
  19. The story could be cool eventually, but I just don’t like that barely animated cg look. I personally never got into the Star Wars Clone wars because I didn’t like the art style. If an animated show doesn’t look good, it’s really hard for me to watch it.
  20. There’s also one getting blown up on the box art for Max’s Queadluun Rau in the bottom cornerpoor guy took a hit in a horrible spot. Anyway, I’m still hoping that’s a tease for an upcoming kit
  21. Do you have a picture of that one? There are so many things that happen so fast, that might be one I’ve missed
  22. At this point, I’ve lost track of what’s getting ignored or included
  23. These kits are pretty easy out of the box. If you’re not into going all out with filling seams or paintwork, these are rather color separated and if you want to go a little further and not use stickers, there are waterslide sets to pretty much color everything properly. Just need to top coat over them and maybe use a simple panel line method and it should look pretty great. They snap up pretty similar to the average hg gundam kit, so if you’re used to those these aren’t much more complicated
