Batman: Caped Crusader (Series) [Prime Video]
Big s replied to pengbuzz's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Watched a few more episodes of the show and it’s still kinda down the middle. I kinda get the feeling that they wanted to do a more mature show and then some body made them tone things down for the children. Episode 6 and Batman takes a break from beating up Cops to fight a ghost and not a Scooby Doo old man in a costume, but an actual ghost Episode 7 is a little more grounded in that nobody is super natural or anything. And punching police officers seems to be this Batman’s favorite hobby That was definitely the best of the three episodes I just watched. episode 8 is oddly back to the supernatural and it seems that it’s another short break from beating up cops Over the last three episodes this show sill isn’t a big flash of animation and the killing is still completely bloodless and the action scenes are fairly basic. Hopefully the finale will have something that shines to give the show a boost.- 50 replies

Nah, go watch Gremlins, even if it isn’t Christmas. The greatest Christmas movie of all time came out in the summer as well, so it won’t be so strange. Maybe in a few years they’ll add showings of Die Hard

I like the look of the Plamax kit best so far. Once you ditch the transformation, it looks far more impressive

I think for smaller ships, it’s by the upcoming year like cars. Honestly, I don’t know how they really do years in Starwars. I know the fans like the bby goofiness, but I don’t know what they go by officially in universe- 59 replies

Maybe they do it before so they don’t cry when their hard work goes down the drain. Personally I usually assemble, paint then a bit of a gloss coat, then panel line and throw the weathering steps in then a final coat. I change up the process depending on how gritty I want it to look

If you got to hobbysearch, they have the instructions for most kits. I’d say try looking up the paint guide page for the hasegawa equivalent and those are usually Mr color paints

I’m actually more afraid of those, at least they’re threatening, since they are the destroyers of beloved franchises- 59 replies

If you happen to still be in the nearby area for breakfast, there an amazing place called Huckleberry’s on the walk area by the house of blues not too far from Disneyland. I highly recommend stopping in for breakfast. A lot of the food has a bit of a Cajun twist and they have a specialty brand of hot sauce. Not to mention that once you’ve been ripped off by Disney food prices, this place is an insane value. Was just there last summer to check out Emperor at the House of Blueswe weren’t expecting the plates to be so overstuffed and had a side order of their amazing beignets. The kids got different sets of chicken’n waffles and I had this Cajun style eggs Benedict thinking the food portions wouldn’t be too large. I was definitely wrong. I get the feeling you could turn any plate into a share meal. Definitely the best breakfast I’ve ever had in Anaheim, the city of brown

Where were these? All they did was act silly and slightly grabby. I used to think Walking dead had the lamest zombies, but Ahsoka proved me horribly horribly wrong.- 59 replies

It doesn’t matter what process you think is correct with this stuff, it just randomly destroys a project and it passes the blame onto the user. personally, I think they easily could tone down the recipe, but Tamiya likes to reuse the same stuff for thinner, brush cleaner, extra thin cement and Panel liner. I’ve never had problems with diluting enamels or oils with zippo, but I’m sure there’s even safer ways to get the same results

I’m not gonna disagree about Thrawn, but there’s definitely room for something interesting. The problem lies really with Disney and not having a good writing team in a while- 59 replies

Even with the clear coat cured for a couple days, the stuff is iffy. I’ve seen more than a few do the proper steps and have it work fine on most of their kits and then randomly accidentally have a masterpiece turned into a wreck diorama or just plain garbage. I remember that story from a while back. I felt really bad for you. If I remember, it melted the joints or something. It made me more cautious about my own work. And I’ve also had issues with the stuff. It’s really sad to see so much work go into a project just to have it destroyed by the #1 recommended product at the hobby shops for panel lining

I don’t think Thrawn is capable of that mentally or physically. The guy has one ship and isn’t very good at planning. I think you’re overestimating live action Thrawn. The only thing he threatens is a bag of Doritos- 59 replies

I’ve only seen his live action debut, and it seems that he’s just got one ship. It seems full of less than capable storm troopers that after they die become little more than handsy mannequins, doesn’t seem like a threat at all. Maybe he was a threat in a children’s cartoon though. Besides that, i think they’re saving him more for that Ahsoka project rather than fighting Din, and Grogu- 59 replies

After finally seeing Thrawn after all the talk about him, I kinda doubt that he could outsmart anyone. Is he gonna throw mobs of useless zombies at them? Those things sucked so bad- 59 replies

Looks a little toasty, but I kinda like it. Maybe do a light grey or white wash to tone it down a little.
-
Yeah, if it doesn’t crack, it’ll melt. It’s just way too hot. Sometimes it’s good to try new things, but other times it’s best to stick with what works
-
Sorry, but I’m pretty sure it’s a nice lobster with some cool markings for its carapace

Don’t blame yourself, that Tamiya is the destroyer of models. It’s just way too hot for a lot of plastics. It’s basically thin solvent glue with a bit of paint. And it’s particularly bad with Abs and some soft plastics. It barely works for styrene under proper conditions. It’s kinda like playing Russian Roulette with your models. You might get god results on a few, then there that one loaded chamber or devastation. And all it leaves in its wake is just heartbreak. The worst part about it is that it usually works great the first time, then that time it doesn’t, you start questioning yourself and your methods, when it’s really just the product itself. tricks like enamel and oil washes work well as panel lining with thinners that aren’t as hot like mineral spirits or zippo fluid. Acrylic and water based ones work well also and are a bit safer, but take a different method to clean up.

If I remember, this is replacing the next season. Not sure if this is meant as an end point for the series though, but there’s the possibility that this may be the finale. It would be really weird to go from series to movie and back again, but I’m not saying that that also isn’t a possibility- 59 replies

Unfortunately it sounds like the flat coat soaked up the panel liner. It’s usually best to use a gloss coat that has set for a while and then flat coating after weathering and panel lining and all that. As long as it only damaged the top coat, there’s a possibility of rescue with light sanding. The flat coat has a lot of little micro bumps that the panel lining sort of contours to and will leave a dark haze over the kit. It’s good if you just want to darken the color a little, but when you don’t is when it can be a problem. The gloss is smoother and usually allows you to wipe away the excess lining. But it’s definitely best to allow some good cure time after application Be careful with Tamiya panel liners, because those can sometimes just eat up paint and plastic. Not sure if that was the brand, but I see a lot of horror stories after Tamiya has been used and I’ve had some bad experiences with it myself.

I would, but I really can’t top Porkins or Kid Molester, I mean Kit Fisto
