Lacquer paints are usually pretty tough and self level thinly. You could also try pre sanding areas that will rub so there’s a little more room before painting

I think it’s supposed to be on the heavy armor But I’m not gonna complain about a cool add on like that. I was kinda already thinking about using a spare boss fights skeleton head. that pilot was surprisingly resilient though to totally nose dive into the ground and still climb out and take a seat to play with a doll before he finally died

The Acolyte - Disney Plus Star Wars Series
Big s replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Honestly, that wasn’t a mistake in my opinion. The show was already disjointed to begin with and the only good stuff was with Smilo Ren and especially that Jecki pin cushion scene was a highlight in a bad show. -
I always gotta give that duo some credit for making such a big sound with mostly songs played by two people. It’s tough to come up with other great examples of rock duo’s. I think the only other one o listen to is Death From Above which is a Drummer that sings and a bass player that uses effects and heavy distortion to cover for the fact they don’t have a lead guitar or even a rhythm guitar, just drums Vocals and bass. There’s also Simon and Garfunkel, but I really don’t listen to them often

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post
Big s replied to Shawn's topic in Model kits
I saw this one the other day, but wasn’t sure who the original poster was. It looks like a lot of simple little things done to smooth out that Queadluun Rau. It’s still my favorite of the classic Macross kits for its great design, especially for the time and pretty great articulation on top of that. And the builder did such a nice job lining things up. -
Definitely took up a good portion of my viewing as a kid and remember renting those movies multiple times for the laughs

Captain America: Brave New World - February 14, 2025
Big s replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It’s not a great movie, but I didn’t get the food poisoning from it. I might even give it a rewatch one day. But I definitely had a bad reaction with most of the recent Disney Marvel stuff like the Marvels and Black Panther 2 or the Eternals, or Secret invasion and She Hulk 🤮. Other ones I didn’t like, I’d never go for a second watch like Agatha all Along or the multiverse of madness or the third ant man movie. I didn’t like those, but wasn’t totally sickened by them. And while I didn’t hate Ms marvel or Wandavision, I still probably wouldn’t watch them ever again and would probably watch Romulus a second time long before I’d consider giving those another chance.- 105 replies

I felt like the acting wasn’t an issue. They did the best with the bad material they were given. -
Just for fun, I tried the Gundam model trick at hobbysearch and both releases show up. You have to erase the English part of their url and the website comes in Japanese text and the second page for anime robots and it comes up a bit further down since the preorder was up the other day.they usually do this for items that they don’t sell outside Japan, like the Gundam model kits. I’ve never seen them do this for any non Bandai item though. I don’t think it’s the extra missiles or anything.the same page below is in a slightly different order in English, but missing these two toys

I don’t think it was a brand fatigue as much as a lower level of quality in the franchise. The writers don’t really know what to do anymore. If they stopped with the low quality movies, people would be more excited.- 105 replies

Getting something like the Gnerl produced may come down to price. A cheap cool vehicle for the little guy to hop in would be more acceptable to the average buyer. Charging a hundred bucks for a simple fighter craft may be a turn off to getting it made

I don’t hate most of those movies that you mentioned other than the marvels. I don’t remember exorcist 3 and haven’t seen quantum of solace, but I’d rewatch Ghostbusters 2 or even alien 3 and the Star Trek movie, they may not be great but their not the trash that the Marvels was.- 105 replies

Last time I went, the hmr toys weren’t too bad in price, but those dx vf-1 toys were super overpriced. I think I saw hmr at three booths, while the dx ones were only at one, but were still nice to see in person even though I couldn’t afford them.

Captain America: Brave New World - February 14, 2025

It could really be a huge mess. I haven’t talked to anyone that’s excited to see it. I remember there were some that actually were interested in that last ant man thing, but nobody seems to care about the blue falcon in his first starring movie appearance. reshoots are a common thing in films, but in recent Disney history it seems to just confuse the overall story and if this movie really needed that much extra work, it sounds like they really didn’t have a great story at all to start with.- 105 replies

Out here in SoCal, there used to be one in every town or city. I kept hearing about a comeback, but I haven’t seen any of them anywhere. Most just sit as abandoned buildings. Some were converted into other things, but nothing as noticeable as a Toys’R Us. Nowadays the go to toy spot for cheap stuff is Target or maybe Walmart. And for the cool stuff oddly the Hobby Town stores seem to have a lot of figma, Sh Figuarts, Hmr and even Mafex. Although everyone here in SoCal knows the craziest place for cool toys is Frank’n Son’s. It’s both famous and infamous depending on which seller you deal with.

I honestly don’t remember them, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen the show.

When I was seeing them I’m at hobby town, it was when the zero stuff came out, and those didn’t stick around. I don’t know about the fire Valkyrie yet though.
