A lot of the old 1/144 kits are getting re released as four packs. They’re pretty cheap and some really don’t look that bad. I may pick up the basic set for the baddies

When I first saw the title of the thread I thought it was an overall discussion about the studio, then realized it’s about one movie. To be honest both probably work here. -
I might be more interested in those if they had the pilots. There’s probably gonna be a ps version with all the extras, but the question will be if they get released as a pack or individually

Seems every passed a while back, but the reviews still come from writers that he helped pick on his self named website

The last I heard he had a stroke and face surgery , so he had been staying out of the spotlight. There are still reviews that had been under his name for a while. I’ll have to remember to look up his current status

If the regult is more like 1/100 scale, I wouldn’t be too disappointed. I would just use it with the wave kits. As far as the armored Valkyrie, it’s not perfect, because of the way they are making compromises between the idea that their Valkyrie would be designed for that armor instead of using anime magic to enlarge the feet and hands. I think since they are more of a realistic model company, they chose a route of consistency rather than fantasy. It probably wouldn’t be too difficult to find and modify some rounded gundam hands and add some plastic sheet to widen and lengthen the feet. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing some cool customs of it after it gets released

While jet in the anime wasn’t as dark skinned as some of the other characters I always thought of him as black and the live action version of him in the outfit and with his voice seemed perfect for me as far as casting. Faye didn’t start out as a lesbian in the live action version, but I think the moment she started questioning herself had to to with that awkward tree scene. I mean accidentally giving a tree a happy ending probably would throw everything into confusion. honestly the only character change that truly bugged me was vicious. I also don’t think we needed so much background. As far as anime Americanized adaptation I actually liked the Ghost in the Shell movie and my favorite would hands down be battle angel. Maybe battle angel worked because there was so much story that never got animated that it was more of a comic adaptation

I’m not sure why there are so many color changes on those. I used to think of it as each ship had a standard color and then the commanders got customs, but I really don’t know. The q rau had a few variations of color in just their first couple of appearances. The regult and glaug seemed standard in the series then the movie versions of things had other colors that seemed based on rank for the armors

Nice packaging on that one

I don’t think stealth is the example I was trying to set. Maybe more like the original matrix where there’s definitely anime inspiration and turning out pretty good

The beyond global version is really good if you don’t want to paint or get rid of seams. Just a little panel lining would bring it out

I think that another problem is that even though it’s got a sci-fi backdrop, the anime felt more live action than most. The live action version went an awkwardly surreal route and ended up too cartoonish, so it just didn’t quite look right. Comic books are great, but sometimes you can’t make a movie look like the comic if you’re going for a serious show or movie adaptation. It’s sort of an interesting experiment with this show that unfortunately didn’t get the results. This all makes me wonder about what kind of direction the live action gundam will go with. If they don’t have the look of something serious and have a stupid bad guy, then that project will also fail. Maybe the best thing to do is to just hope for live action stuff that is inspired by anime, but not be anime.

The way the armor is, I would be surprised if there were much movement in the knees. There is a bit of space to do some articulation, but I don’t know if hasegawa would go through that much trouble. It would probably require some kind of extending mechanism to get any major knee bends, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
-
The regult looks nice, but I’m still curious about the knee joints

I kinda figured it wasn’t gonna get renewed, but I think that a second season could have been good especially if they took the complaints about season one and learned from their mistakes. The actors and creators definitely cared about what they were doing even if it was a bit of a fail. You could definitely feel the love they put into the show and it is too bad they won’t get the chance to improve

I know there are a lot of 80’s nostalgia films and shows these days, but I really like how it was handled. The descriptions of how things were different and the parental overreaction to all things cool back then. I remember the satanic panic that went against dungeons and dragons and rock music and the arguments that cartoons teach us nothing but violence and were just half hour toy commercials. So when those parents have their meeting about the evils of Nintendo, that just had me laughing and wondering if kids these days would understand that adults were trying their best back then to kill all things fun.

I finally got around to finishing it and I think the real problem is that they tried too hard to have a long story instead of just sprinkling in the syndicate stuff here and there for flavor. There definitely was some love that went into this from the creators to the actors, but the budget and overall story are the downside as well as a bumbling nemesis. If It were another character messing up leaving room for Vicous to take over would have been a more entertaining end for the season

The crash is part of a design series that blends a lot of zeta designs with ffs. If I remember correctly they were the same designer. A few years back in resin form there was a similar idea with the O dragons heaven and samurai 7 since those were very similar

MOSCATO HOBBY MODELLING CONTEST!!

Those are some nice entries so far. Can’t wait to see the rest -
In case anyone is looking for a fun new holiday film that is entertaining and good for the whole family, then check out 8 Bit Christmas. It’s kinda like the story telling of princess bride and a Christmas Story. It’s good mix of nostalgia for the older crowd that grew up in the late 80’s and lighthearted fun for anyone else. It’s a bit sappy at times, but it is a Christmas movie so it’s expected

MOSCATO HOBBY MODELLING CONTEST!!
Big s replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think there’s something odd about the white. I haven’t had too many problems with the grey. I used too have all kinds of problems with enamel paints not sticking to anything. I personally like lacquer ones the best and luckily they’re getting easier to find. Maybe try mixing the tamiya paint with me leveling thinner instead of water or their thinner and that may give a little more bite to the paint on the primer -
MOSCATO HOBBY MODELLING CONTEST!!
Big s replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I’ve personally never had good luck with the white. I do like their polyester putty, but that stuff is really getting hard to get a hold of. I was shopping online for some since I’m about halfway down an old tube and hobby king was offering it for $1.99. I got excited and went to preorder and the site notified me that they can’t ship it from their Hong King warehouse.
