  1. It says 2mode set that for the price I think you get parts for the fighter and battroid and probably the extra parts for gerwalk although I can't read the description. It looks like from the pictures of the fighters that the 1a has a TV pilot and the 1s has the movie Roy. If the pilots are easy to remove I may repaint them and swap them so I can have a tv Roy.
  2. I was looking at the grimgerde again and now I'm a bit confused by the head. I thought the eye was in the top area with the yellow circle, but now after seeing a review pic there seems to be a green lense sticker in what I thought was the throat area. Now it looks like a robot with a bunny hat.
  3. It looks like they have a bundle set for these.

There was an episode or two where the monster magically hovered, I think one of the examples was a Mars base scene. Those scenes may have been due to low budget or lazy animators or maybe a misunderstanding of the mechanics.

    VE-1 Geshapon??

Most of the toys toynami puts out seem to start out as something someone else already made better like their 1/100 transformable valkyries that were just up scaled banpresto's. They even made the panel lines wider on those in the up scale.
  6. I hope these turn out well. Maybe other macross series could be added like macross plus or zero along with the ones shown.

It looks like a dressed up version of that resin kit from a few years ago, if you look at the upper legs and upper arms they have that weird diamond shape.
  8. These look way better than the wave battroids.

i guess when a toy of something that hasn't had a toy or at least hadn't had one since the early 80s nostalgia just happens. That being said I'm down for at least one monster and I'm gonna save up and maybe get a couple more depending on my personal economy.

When I was a kid the 80s robot craze had taken over, but here in the states it was a bit tough to get the real versions of toys. I had the Jetfire, and a matchbox robotech monster and a couple of pirated macross toys I think called triple changers or something. The Japanese kits were only slightly easier to get, but not by much. I had some arrii valkyries, and an Imai monster that was just slapped together with no paint or anything. This hmr series may not be perfect, but it sure is making me happy to see items other than just another valkyrie repaint all the time.
  11. The way the pricing is listed it looks like you buy the battroid and fighter then combine parts for the gerwalk. I may be wrong though.
  12. That 1a looks great, I can't wait to get my hands on these.

The original monster never did transform. This looks great to me. It's big but to me it's a must have. I've been wishing for this for years. The Koenig monster toys came out a few years ago when Japanese toy prices weren't as high as today. If those were out today they may be closer to a $400plus release.
  14. If I were to go with 1/60 i would go with the bandai dx series for the simple fact that I hate stickers with a passion. For the price Arcadia is asking they should at least do more of the important markings. I also think the hmr 1s should at least have those arrows printed on the head. The regult and glaug markings look good so far though.
  15. I just got my mk2 renewal kits and felt let down that they don't have closed fist or an open palm hand. The hg kits are really losing me as a fan.
  16. I think that if you have any sentimental attachment to the 1/60s you should still keep them and maybe put in a little overtime at work for the 1/100s. The hmr regult, glaug and monster are all confirmed releases. Hopefully they do make the other destroids and enemy units. I figure that a $60 to $150 release every couple of months isn't too difficult. Although that monster may be an exception price wise it's a must have for me. I haven't had a monster toy since the early 80s and that one doesn't look anywhere as good as the hmr.
  17. That new Barbatos weapon looks stupid. I do like the grimgerde though. It reminds me of a more upright boundoc From zeta gundam.

I checked that page and the price for regult at cd japan is $47, not bad.
  19. I couldn't wait, I started clipping out some parts on the Scopedog and noticed that you have the option of a fully loaded kit or a bare bones one, but you have to drill holes in spots like the sides of the torso or the left arm If you want to put on the extra equipment. Also if you are going to fill in the seams you have a choice of parts for the shoulder. Before building this kit you have to decide if you want the equipment on or not before building it, but there are parts to build 4 kits, the only plates that aren't copied are the primary weapon runners.

I really like when an action figure comes with a stand. I live in SoCal where quakes happen often and sometimes my figures have had too much to drink.
  21. I just got the wave scope dog turbo custom 1/35 4 pack in the mail today. I haven't had time to start building and probably won't until some other projects get finished. I did take a look inside and the parts apear to be a bit smaller than the rabidly dog, but the construction looks almost the same. The finished pictures look good, there are enough parts to build 4 fully loaded kits. There seem to be only one of each main weapon, but the accessories apear to to have enough parts to load out all 4 kits just with different primary weapons. There are also parts for 4 different characters in standing pose. The foot construction is top half bottom half instead of side to side like the rabidly dog. Unfortunately there is no full cockpit even though the top opens up just like the standard rabidly dog and there is no downform, but there is a gimmick to bring down the extra turbo wheel thing in the back of the leg. These will probably look really good in standing and action display, but I would have really liked them to at least have something to put inside the torso since the upper body has the joints to open up. I don't know if the seat from the premium version of the rabidly dog kit will fit this, but if it does I'm sure some one could make a copy or scratch build the rest of the inside. It does look like it has the inside side walls oddly enough.
  22. I have the volks 1/100 bang and it's a good size kit,but space is getting limited so the 1/144 ones may be the ones for me. The batshu does look great and the a-tol looks impressive to me so I may have to get them before their gone. That terror mirage will still be my next buy.
  23. The volks web site shows an A-tol at 1/144scale ims kit. I was wondering if anyone had anything good to say about the 1/144 batshu.
