  1. I said basically the same thing a bit above. It would be a lot less expensive and probably easier to modify. Are there any pictures of it in other modes?
  2. Most of the sites I’ve seen are just showing the one on the right, but some show both and none are in English
  3. Careful, your letting your age show
  4. Still waiting on a cobra officer from the ultimates line.
  5. I saw that one as well. It’s an interesting use of a Fyana action figure and the movie version of her armor looks good in green
  6. I was thinking that it may be easier to wait for the model kit to come out, since it would be cheaper and probably easier to experiment with. There are a good amount of different scale Valkyrie kit’s floating around and it wouldn’t be to heartbreaking if things didn’t work out.
  7. I’m hoping it’s just a bad angle looking at the face straight on, but I think the lower portion of the helmet should be angled a bit more
  8. I thought they were trolling the fans with the last teaser, but this is starting to hurt in a hilarious way
  9. Thanks for posting. I’m pretty sure I got those poly caps. I haven’t put everything together, but I did test fit the hatches so I think everything is fine because I remember an odd part of the hatches that close around those
  10. I just can’t see how anyone could be excited for a Disney project these days. And I gotta agree that if this happened a few years back, maybe only three I might have been interested.
  11. I think there was an older one, but everything seems to be in here or related threads like hmr or moderoid threads
  12. It’s too bad that the on dcu movie Gunn has done didn’t do so well. I really liked it, but it couldn’t was the stink off of the first Suicide Squad film. And I’m pretty sure you’re right about the next couple dcu films. I don’t think enough people are gonna care to see an aquaman sequel and they don’t have much of an attachment to blue beetle, but if word comes out that either of the two aren’t a turd, then maybe they got a chance, although I have my doubts
  13. And then when it finally happens, it gets cancelled early if it’s good or continues due to people hate watching the first season because it was that unbelievably bad
  14. I don’t think it’s that younger generations don’t care. There’s just more diversity of products for them. If you take a kid to a collectors show like Frank and Son’s or a comic con they will be bugging for toys. I’ve seen it many times. It may get be that they like a superhero character from a movie or an anime character or whatever, but kids like toys more than adults are willing to buy for them. Most game streamers have action figures showing in the background on their shelves and those people are half my age or younger. If GI Joe wants to have a younger group of kids interested in their product, then they have to try harder to grab the younger generation’s attention. The last movie they put out was more of an 80’s style ninja revenge movie that didn’t feel like anything that would have to do with the property. If they put out something new like an animated series streaming on max or Netflix, then I’m sure that would get their attention. Kids still like transformers toys, but they’ve had newer toons and movies to tie into the franchise. It’s definitely going to be an up hill climb if GI Joe wants to stay relevant though. I don’t think that the demand is going to be as high for larger vehicles though since a lot of parents are downgrading on the size of their homes. It’s definitely tougher to get a larger item and I’m still surprised at the fact that hasbro and other companies has been getting people to buy these larger items. Even when I was young, I could barely talk my parents into the Rattler and that was only for the small figures of the day.
  15. More than likely it will be their next Willow.
  16. I get the feeling that they really only kept a military as a way of trying to give a sense of responsibility. In this case I guess it would be like boy scouts or Girl Scouts, but instead of learning how to sell cookies, they learn to pilot an odd abundance of robots. Maybe it would be more of an ROTC kind of program
  17. They work best on dull coats. And make sure to go a bit lighter since the top coat will darken them, kinda like adding water to dirt and then the mud is quite a bit darker. It takes some experimenting to get things right and sometimes it just takes adding another layer.
  18. Totally. A grind of mine showed me a while back that you can use a make up compact just like the tamiya weathering sets. It’s wild that we’re just giving our kits beauty makeovers.
  19. To me, the ditziness worked for the story. It wasn’t a group that just came out of a war. They were more of a bunch of kids that had never seen war, let alone much violence. There didn’t seem to even be an expectation that there ever could be combat. I think that’s why things were so chaotic. I’ve mentioned it before with the mecha design, I really do believe it mostly was designed for riots than for all out war. It works for me as an explanation for the uncovered modes on the Sparta. The military overall had a lack of organization and just seemed to do things as an afterthought. The planet they were on only seemed to have one city and yet had quite a bit of people in their military, probably more of a requirement but not taken too seriously. In the Robotech version things make less sense. They were just out of an apocalyptic war and quite a bit of the military would’ve been made up of people who were combat veterans of human or zentraedi origin and wouldn’t put up with their crap. The designs feel really out of place as well
  20. The 80’s brands are all pretty strong and have some pricey big items. I’m surprised every time I see something like the thunder tank or castle grey skull selling. And multiple large items for GI Joe . I don’t know what will happen when all the 80’s and 90’s kids grow up. I think most of the late 90’s kids won’t really be too interested in these brands. Most of the younger crowd are into anime rather than their parents nostalgia, but maybe that will keep some interest in the younger crowds rediscovering things in a similar way that something like dungeons and dragons has caught on. It probably would take something like a newer animated series to get the attention of the younger audience
  21. I was checking it out on instagram and it sounds like he’s still fine tuning the details. Maybe it will be better after that or maybe he might take some constructive criticism before everything is finished
