Ha! Didn't think I'd see that meme crop up here! Context for you non-Evo watchers: https://kotaku.com/evo-japan-cuts-sexual-dead-or-alive-6-stream-short-iss-1832654072

God I hope so. I know Notaro is a comedian now, but the way she delivers her lines, it's like Notaro is channeling a real engineer. The snark is palpable. I need more Reno!

I like the cut of MEP Toys jib. If they can produce 'em, I'll buy 'em. The price is right for me and they look better than the recent Robotech figs that came out. I mean Dana looks like Dana - can't say the same about any of those other figs recently. If there were Figma or SH Figuarts versions I'm sure they'd be awesome, and cost 2 or 3x's as much. I might go for that, but those are unannounced vaporware at the moment. So go MEP Toys go!

tl;dr for Doomcock. Season 3 will be only Short Treks. Well, given that the short treks are some of my favorite new official Trek anything, I say bring it on.

I'll never understand why Toynami keeps pumping out those SD's. I mean if someone wants a really wants a cyclone rider, why not just make them regular dimensions, with a non-transforming bike. I'd buy that. I'm getting tired of the whole SD/Funco Pop aesthetic. /jaded

Storm Collectibles Action Figure Line
Mazinger replied to no3Ljm's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
"Here comes a new challenger" https://news.toyark.com/2019/02/15/darkstalkers-license-announced-by-storm-collectibles-332703 So apart from this hobby, I've fallen pretty hard into fighting games. Apart from Street Fighter, I'm obsessed with Darkstalkers. It is a smooth, beautiful, and fast game that pioneered many fighting game innovations that we now come to expect in the genre. Fearing there would never be a proper line, I've even customizing figs to using Marvel figs and even sculpting on top of lego skeletons but now there will finally be a line! I don't own any Storm Collectibles yet, but you can be damn sure I'm buying up this whole line. Please oh please let them include my main, Hsien-Ko, praise Jedah!- 301 replies

That probably wasn't referencing me, but I'll bite regardless. I suspect that the producers decided to do a reset and make subsequent seasons hew closer to the older shows to keep the fan base happy. And I think that part of the fun will be if they keep introducing new things, but then go to lengths, successfully, to show why those things were never brought up in the older shows. I'm not sure how it will all wrap up 2 or 3 seasons from now, but if they manage to pull off something really cool to show us why Michael never existed in the older shows, then they'll have earned my respect. Being a fan of Macross I've learned to be a little flexible on canonicity. While it may not be TNG Part Deaux, some of that hip new hawtness of Discovery had been refreshing.

So while I've been following along with Season 2 and hadn't yet watched all the short treks, but I did so last night and really liked them. Which was interesting as immediately after I watched the Macross 7 Plus shorts. Again Macross 7 did it first! Anyways I really liked those shorts and the season has been shaping up well. It seems like we have a bonafide Trek tv series now, where as that certainly felt iffy in season 1. I just want to call out the characters who are really standing out for me this season: Silvia Tilly and the engineer they picked up in the first ep, Jett Reno. Any scenes with them just really shine through. Of course, the rest of the cast is good, too.

I didn't know about these till now. Wow, there's some nice stuff in there. Spiritia dreaming and Gubaba's planet sure add some nice context.

And hopefully there's a chunk of VF-4's available then.

I treat my valks as toys. I may not give them all the attention they deserve, but since I've built my collection from Chunky's and mostly pre-owned v1 Yamatos, I don't mind transforming them. I actually get more nervous about my HMR valks since they are smaller and feel more delicate.

Just read on BBtS that it did come with that wall. I've got a SOTA Vega already, so not sure that I'll get this version, but in general I really like the playability of the Figuarts line.

Such a pretty bird!

Yeah, it wasn't hard to follow, though I can agree that perhaps it was a bit over stuffed. I think that same amount of ground could have easily been covered in 2 or 3 movies, sort of the opposite problem of The Hobbit trilogy.

Wow that looks good. I wonder if they throw in the cage wall with the package. Now I wish they would release some fighters that other toy lines haven't covered yet like Makoto, Rose, Q, Elena, etc.

Did they take umbrage at the suggested changes to the design, like those the came from members of this forums? Sad if that was the case.

Macross World Podcast - feedback & comments

Sounds like Kawamori is settling into his fame. Good to hear. He's given his history of VF's talk quite a few times around the globe, so he should be getting used to crowds.- 1147 replies

Nice find. I like the transformation, simply, yet effective.

Crazy, if anything I'm the opposite, I always saw the jets as superfluous to the bikes. I'm only getting into the Legioss and Tlead now even though as a kid I had a red triple changer.

I saw it in 3D despite not liking the format, but thought it was well executed, i.e. Cameron and crew understand how to properly make a 3D movie.
