Marvel Studios TV Shows and Animation on Disney+
TangledThorns replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not for Disney+ as I just cancelled renewing my annual subscription plan. Last year I paid $80 and this year it would have been $140.- 1538 replies

Kingdom of The Planet of the Apes
TangledThorns replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Looks good but I have yet to see any of these films in the theater. I did however pay to see Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes that I thought was trash and his worst film to date.- 23 replies

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau
TangledThorns replied to SMS007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There was a also a lot of that in season 3 of Mandalorian too. That butch former Imperial officer and especially with Bo-Katan Kryze which gives me hope that we'll see Katee Sackhoff in Filoni's STAR WARS movie 😍- 1438 replies

Taylor Sheridan is a national treasure. This looks really good. -
Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)
TangledThorns replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, the last 5 minutes will be very interesting. However I doubt it'll change much from the manga as the whole anime series followed it closely.- 353 replies

Just a personal observation. I've had Crunchyroll for close to a year and only watched two series in that time. Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan (for the third time). So yeah, won't renew my annual subscription by end of year.

LOL, IKR! But yes, its the last episode. Then no more AoT till they make the Hollywood live action film, whenever that is.- 353 replies

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau
TangledThorns replied to SMS007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Re-watching The Mandalorian series with my almost 6 year old son. He has no interest in any of the STAR WARS films and is only watching this series because of "Baby Yoda." That's all I have to say, lol.- 1438 replies

It's a necro thread but I'll play along. I agree newer anime isn't exciting like it was. I miss mecha anime of the 1980s and 1990s as it seems its only GUNDAM or Gundam these days.

Folk said the same about Bo-Katan. They probably keep young looking using face cream made from Bantha milk, lol.

Looks better than a lot of the recent comedy spy movies. Seriously, its a genre that needs to take a long break.

Greg Jein Estate Auction
TangledThorns replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not as surprising after reading in this forum what some folk paid for Robotech/Macross/Mospeada collectible toys. To each their own I guess. That being said I sold my horde of anime & sci-fi items that I collected since the 1980s back in 2020 without earning much money just so I can reclaim space in my house which is worth it and I don't miss my collection at all. -
Saw it when it first came out with a group of friends from my Coast Guard unit and left early in the film when we realized it was a kids film with goofy songs and not BEETLEJUICE.

I do predict that the Filoni movie if made well and has most of the main characters of his streaming series (namlely Dinn, Grogu, Ahsoka, and Boba Fett) that it will be the most successful STAR WARS movie of all time. I base my prediction on my young children that don't know much about STAR WARS but LOOOOOVE "Baby Yoda". Another prediction is that Disney will milk this into multiple films.

Interesting ending, looking forward to more. I'd place the AHSOKA series slightly behind season 2 of The Mandalorian but ANDOR is still tops, by several miles. On a side note I was hoping to see more Wes Chatham, seems like a real waste and I wonder if he feels the same?
