  1. Where's that Bandai 1/1800 scale SDF-1 with lights, sounds, and remote control rail guns??? They should put a mini LED screen in for the bridge also so we can see Global and the bridge bunnies. We're at 8K Bandai, you can do this!
  2. ha... something is bound to get a reissue....
  3. Was that a retail display or some sort of prize?
  4. Nice!
  5. SoR4 is owning my few minutes of gaming time right now. I'm not as good as I expected to be.
  6. I always thought they changed outfits entirely into REF armor which has full sleeves and gauntlets and full pants that are worn under the boots.

    Hi-Metal R

No, it's in scale with Robot Spirits, a short lived Macross line that was smaller than HM, more like 1/120.
  8. Mine is currently in storage but did you grab a copy of the Mospeada Complete Art Works? I don't recall anything in particular but maybe there's some Shinobu artwork in there.
  9. Checked out my old review and found this pic I miss Totoro242, he had a great collection and knew a ton.
  10. Pretty sure this got a Matsuhiro release on white also, as opposed to the Takatoku gray.
  11. What's so mind-boggling to me is that some of that stuff could have worked fine.... if they had used the three movies to introduce and build upon it. There should have been hints of Palpatine in the first movie... then the exposure of Palpatine in the second movie, then the defeat of Palpatine in the third movie. Even plot elements I don't like would have worked better if they had built upon them from the beginning. Rey's parentage, like it or not, is all over the map. Again, if they wanted it to be Palps the whole time, hint at it, expose it, then confront it. Set it up so Kylo is a conflicted villain, Rey has to go dark side to kill Palps, then Kylo and Luke have to team up to defeat dark side Rey. Just spit balling but jeeze, if they had used a three movie long canvas instead of treating each movie like something that only needed to be tethered to a previous movie, they could have done so much better.
  12. Omg I need sets of both colors! They're replacement shoulder hinges.
  13. No... But I don't think many people are grabbing three Yamato 1/48s at a time.

    Bandai DX VF-31

I don't agree with that statement. If there are published "correct" dimensions for each mode then a toy will have a scale for each mode. If that scale is the same then the toy has a uniform scale (1/60 in the case of the VF-31 toys). If the toy is too short or too long in a mode, then it has a different scale in that mode. It's just as appropriate to say a toy is 'non-scale' as it is to say a toy is "1/58 in fighter and 1/63 in battroid." The scale is just math after all. EDIT - that example is ludicrous as the numbers I gave would be so dependent on tiny measurements that everyone should just say the toy was 1/60... that's something I hate about my 'true scale' measurements... a tiny mistake on my part can create ire.
  15. Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting that article 100% up-to-date before more releases hit the shelves.
  16. I got this as a birthday present, it's fun excluding the destroid levels... They are awful. Also, I play in "guardian" almost the whole time.
  17. 7400¥ for shipping... oof. I guess it's nice to have an option that is still shipping but man, that hurts.

I imagine the DX toys and the HMR toys operate in different worlds within Bandai and decisions made for production on either has little to do with each other. In both cases, the line fizzling out likely has to do with sales of previous units. The destroids though, would not have been produced with the thought that they would have strong sales but rather that their sales would support more sales for the overall line. I would guess that Bandai reached a point where they felt they made enough supplementary vehicles, or maybe even too many, so they backed off to focus on heroes for a while.
  19. Had NY processed the orders for the people who immediately purchased the items from their store, those people would have received their orders as part of the FIRST allotment... I shouldn't be getting screwed by the pandemic because I should already own my strike parts. Fortunately for me, I won't have a toy to go along with them until August so I can wait but that doesn't excuse NY's service. These are now the only kind of orders I put in with NY... the ones where I know that if it takes them two years to deliver, it won't bother me too much.

What's crazy is that the Tomahawk is arguably the most popular destroid. To think we got a Spartan and a defender but no Tomahawk is just odd. You would think that half the toy was done when they finished the Defender so the Tomahawk became a slam dunk. Meh, maybe a Phalanx/Tomahawk gift-set some day? PLEASE BANDAI???
  21. Yeah, I got three sets coming by ferry and no word. Not sure if NY prioritizes based on anything. Maybe they do the people who ordered one or two units first and then bigger orders later? Maybe they prioritize faster shipping methods first? They definitely don't do it by time order received because I also ordered within hours of the listing and got bumped to the second release and even now don't have a shipping notification. You definitely don't shop at NY for the service...
  22. That option sounds dubious, hope it works out!
  23. Ignoring the lack of space trees to blend in with, it looks great! Gotta put an angry woodpecker in that kite circle.
  24. I chose Ferry for my NY order and it's not in preparation in progress yet... maybe they're prioritizing the fast shippers first.
