  1. Here's my wish list: 1) Anime accurate swing bars for the legs (with pop out pegs in the nosecone). This would allow for waist articulation. Also, I think they can make it so the swing mechanisms then rotate out and up and become side covers for battroid. I also think there should be one click of waist articulation that would let you jut the crotch forward for some of the more aggressive poses. 2) Heat shield not attached to the upper chest (or attached with a swivel point) to allow at least one point of back articulation for battroid mode. 3) Articulated ankles which may involve some articulation on the inside edge of the lower leg 4) GU-44 with retractable strap
  2. I'm beginning to get curious again if Arcadia has the VF-1 rights. It seems like such a no-brainer to make more of them and it's totally crickets on that front. Maybe they were able to carry the Yamato rights over and then those expired and now they need to get them back or something?
  3. There wouldn't be tears shed if I missed it.
  4. I used to live with a typical valley girl (not a romantic situation, she was just a roommate). She used to refer to my toys as "Robotrons". "Whatcha, doin'? Playin' with your Robotrons?" It was kind of fun. For all the wine that got drunk I was pretty fortunate not to lose any Robotrons.
  5. I think I'm in the "hold for Black Friday" group.
  6. If the YF-30 has a role in the upcoming series there would be a good bet.
  7. I think Arcadia was toying around with the idea of releasing VF-1J Max & Miria toys without super parts. The idea would then be that they would reissue the super parts but now include extra bits so you could use them with M&M. That's my theory.
  8. Hey skull, if you're let down and want to unload one let me know.
  9. Marky Mark has me feelin' good vibrations toward the next TF film. The great thing about the next film is that I expect these to be so terrible by now that I'm almost assured to be pleasantly surprised.
  10. LOLz. Demand for Robotech is getting stronger... The 30 year olds that still remember us will be 40 soon and think how many comic books they're going to buy in their 40s! Good luck with that business model.
  11. If you decide to sell it pm me!
  12. Now that Aoshima and CMs both took a stab at making a Beta, I really think another company could make an excellent Beta toy and learn from what they did. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure we've seen our last Beta toy... ever. I'm still pissed at CMs. They were probably the only toy company that knew they were going to make the Tread from the get-go and they did NOTHING to make it compatible with the Legioss toy they were building simultaneously. Seriously.. if ever a Legioss/Tread toy should have had the greatest linking mechanism ever that was it... and they made it have the worst linking mechanism ever. WTF?
  13. I have no time for anything but I wish I had modeling talent. Enjoying your pics. Do you ever plan to build the Volks 1/8 Scopedog?
  14. That box set is my only experience with Orguss. It's too bad. The subtitles for various chunks were clearly done by different people simultaneously to rush it out. Possibly also another English class project also. They were just good enough for me to piece everything together and enjoy the show. I wouldn't say it was great but I did enjoy it. I would definitely like to get a value-priced set with improved sub (I don't see much of a reason to hunt down blu-rays of 80s cartoons though).
  15. Crap, missed it, hope it pops up again when I'm not working.
  16. It's kind of miraculous it ever got this far. I would wager that this project was killed because someone at either WB or HG read their contract with each other and said "This is in violation of our deal, it needs to end." I doubt it had anything to do with SN or BW although they will always make convenient scapegoats for HG.
  17. I hope I'm able to land one of these. I've been busy moving so I've completely failed on all recent preorders.
  18. If you gave it to me, I'd appreciate the gift... but I'm not buying it.
  19. A little delayed since I'm busy but I would disagree on DYRL only being good for people familiar with SDF Macross. While familiarity with SDF Macross helps I think DYRL functions as a standalone film. The same is true of MacPlus Movie Edition (although that obviously wasn't much of a challenge).
  20. I really liked Macross Frontier but I felt it had its flaws. I really disliked the Frontier movies. The movies seemed like such a great chance to fix the problems with the TV show and instead they just compounded the problems. I made the mistake of watching the first Frontier movie with a non-anime fan and afterwards I apologized. It was terrible. I would probably put the Frontier movies on a similar level to Macross7 and I would put those below MacrossII. I could show MacrossII to someone who isn't an anime nut and if they hadn't seen DYRL they might think it's alright. I could never show Macross7 or the Macross Frontier movies to anyone but hardcore Macross fans. That said, the hardcore Macross nerd in me would probably rank Macross7 above the Frontier movies and put MacII last. Once you get over the mind-numbing repetition of 7 and how over-the-top it is in practically every respect it does tell a story that adds to the Macross mythology so that's nice. The Frontier movies just rehash the Frontier story horribly. There was some conversation about Macross not being gritty and realistic. My favorite Macross animation is DYRL. I'm not going to call it realistic, but there is a head that gets stepped on and some point blank bullets to the face at one point... so yeah, Macross can be violent. DYRL did the violence way better than Frontier did. Squishy guy in episode one was too obvious... not nearly as cool as the violence I just sited in DYRL. Now all that said, I appreciate that DYRL was a movie. I wouldn't want or expect a TV show to carry in the same tone that DYRL did. I think Frontier did a pretty good job playing the tone right overall.
  21. GERWALK mode looks like it's going to be a pain in the ass. The waist 'swivel' means that the intakes aren't locked in right? I'm thinking "floppy mess".
  22. I hate the following things about Bandai: 1) I can never get inside scoops about what they have going on other than the vaguest of rumors 2) i have a hard time getting their toys at all, let alone scoring any sort of a discount.
  23. The LaSalle family could very easily have their roots in Louisiana.
  24. I think the story of Zero is pretty bad and poorly told. I do like some of the action though.
