AFA is a rating system for collectibles. So he has a super Valkyrie that's basically in as good a condition as you could find one back when it was first released. I'm sure there's a page somewhere that lists all the scores and what they mean... I think it's much more common for collectible cards than toys.

So the difficulty more recently being alluded to is the idea that Harmony Gold and everyone touching Robotech now will want to distance themselves from ALL the original Japanese works, not just Macross, so that they are no longer dependent on their relationship with Tatsunoko. So like when I said "Just replace the Zentraedi with the Invid" earlier that would be problematic as well. You'd have to replace the Zentraedi with an original new alien that was neither Zentraedi, Master, or Invid (though the Masters are pretty generic and the Zentraedi are just bigger versions of people which is a concept from stories before writing). I don't think there's going to be any problem with developing mecha or transformations but the story will take some consideration to keep it, at its core, Robotech while simultaneously removing it from 95% of what it was and replacing it with generic content (though some % of that 95% was already generic content).

No, no Macross terms in Shadow Chronicles. You also can't use the notion that BDI/BCS is difficult in the Macross universe to say it shouldn't be a thing in Robotech... of course that works both ways. Personally, I think the notions that the battroids do the things they do WITHOUT some direct brain link is just as far-fetched. I mean, you would have to say the valks all have very sophisticated AI and the pilot essentially just offers suggestions which is a fairly natural evolution of fly-by-wire anyway.

I don't think it will prove difficult. Just replace Zenraedi elements with Invid ones. Basically, slam TNG and TMS together with the macguffins created in The Masters. Use a Legioss derivative transformation mechanism on an F22 parallel. BOOM.

Regarding the hips, they extend out but it doesn't create the ability to twist at the hip in a way that would effect the angle of the toe (it's not a ball) . Instead, there's a twist above the knee to simulate that. extending the hips does allow a greater range of movement for doing the splits. At least, that's how I recall it.

If you think about the "tank" it's similarly dumb... exposed driver and all. The space variant at least solves that.

Cool, even at his worst he generally produces at a high level. Sure TFA was uber derivative but hopefully now that things are rolling it can go in more fun directions.

The reason I question the 1/35 next year is that it would probably be priced similar to an Arcadia PF, maybe a bit higher but ballpark similar. So definitely different scale but they would compete in some regard. Of course, that's more a concern for Arcadia than Bandai.

My Tyrant (Patlabor) shipped the same day, same shipping method, and it arrived Thursday. Both arrived to the US at the same time. For me it's Los Angeles customs that's a total crapshoot. If I choose EMS I get to bypass that and I think go directly to San Francisco which is a billion times better.
