Well, it's like 6cm difference between the two (1/48 and 1/60) so it should shake itself out pretty quickly here.

About the same size as a VF-171 maybe? The VF-171 is 25.5CM tall, the same as the Yamato 1/48 VF-1. I'm actually pretty bummed by this announcement. If it were 1/60 I'd be stoked, we'd have an Arcadia replacement. If it were 1/35 we'd have our ultimate VF-1. At 1/48 though it's going to be a compromise between those two things.

2 definite pre-orders there but not a sniff of release date yet.

Does the box have a flip up lid? I would bet money there are no differences other than packaging.

So far Arcadia has generally improved in Yamato packaging so I hope it is but not enough to go on yet.

I got mine just as I was walking out the door for a business trip so I may not be able to get mine on the tube this weekend... Looking forward to putting it through some trials though. Hmm might be able to use it as a test for my new camera.

Just the numbers on the wing and any markings they may choose to include that have those numbers.

The original 1A sells seemed pretty poor and since I want them to do the whole squad, a swappable S Head for Max and Hikaru seemed like such a good idea to sell better. They give three sets of wings so it seemed like something they could pull off pretty easily. Oh well, still good to see more releases. Edit: just remembered they haven't made a ball joint 1S head yet.
