  1. So it does! Just very stiff on mine, I had to close the foot up and rock them to free it after I saw your comment... I'll update the article, not sure what to do about the video :/ EDIT - I'll just incorporate that in the transformation video too. Yay.
  2. I thought that step was just referring to placement of the heel when I read the instructions and did the photo shoot. The transformation guide will include it. The scale thing is kind of a loaded conversation so I wasn't sure how to broach it so I just dropped it entirely Glad you liked the review! I ponied up for the blue and white one but now that I know how fragile the paint is, I'm kind of dreading doing a review of it..

    Hi-Metal R

You will break it worse removing that pin, your best bet would be to find someone who has one that is broken some other way to land that joint... but it's a Miria version so that's unlikely. You could try putting a bead of glue on there if you're worried about it getting worse. I just bought some stuff that is UV light curing... that looks like the perfect break for that sort of thing.
  4. I can't wait to see this thing all painted up. The only thing I don't like so far is that shoulder array. I hope there are swivels at the biceps... I gotta assume there will be.

    Hi-Metal R

At least it wasn't the metal part that broke... that happened to me once. It looks like it should still function fine though, just be gentle with it..
  6. It seems like the HMR vt-1 and ve-1 didn't do spectacular so I'm not sure that bodes great for Arcadia reissues. That said, I'm sure Bandai pumped out a lot more than Arcadia would.
  7. Yep, it's super confusing that the HMR doesn't have the backpack lock that the original hi metal did... What a strange backward step.
  8. I think the angle is playing tricks, Yamato backpacks were always low while Bandai typically went a little high. The DX looks like it nailed it.
  9. Fighter looks a little awkward still but that head is nicely tucked in and the knee caps look tighter to the chest.
  10. I think the elbow line art varied on TV type vs DYRL type.
  11. I'm really bummed by the lack of Arcadia Macross news
  12. I wonder if the legioss can ride the motorcycle.

    Bandai DX VF-31

It seems like the missiles have been coming with the 31 toys lately so that's increases the likelihood of tracking them down later.
  14. Probably a shrewd move. Honestly, the KOs in gold look better but I'm a sucker for mp10.
  15. Anyone in the SF Bay area want to do a group buy? I was looking at just grabbing one set.
  16. Shoulder articulation on that thing would be awful. It kind of suffers from the VF-4 issue. A solution (for both designs) would be to have the entire shoulder kibble detach from the body and become the top of the shoulder without a torso connection. Where the top of the arm mounts to the shoulder would also need the ability to angle outward but that's absolutely impossible as drawn.
  17. The first trailer I saw of Clone Wars I literally laughed at how awful it looked. I ended up loving Clone Wars though so, we'll see. Like Clone Wars, I probably won't watch it until the series is long over due to my schedule
  18. To Tekering's point earlier, every company that does put the rider in the slave mode has cheated a great deal on scale, way undersizing the rider. What's confusing with the Arcadia is they still way undersized the rider and then didn't include the gimmick.

    Bandai DX VF-31

I would love to see Chuck get made, I am a sucker for the domes, but I think another 31A would be a nice change of pace.

    Bandai DX VF-31

No, it's not even certain it will be made.
  21. Sounds like he's looking for a doll stand, probably for the Hikaru popbox figure. YetiStand would likely be overkill.
  22. I hope Fext sees that and copies it, is definitely buy one.
  23. Looks great, will there be a separate for sale post?
  24. Can the joint be disassembled?
  25. I seem to recall Roy being available in two waves. I suspect that the original production volume was 10K with a 5K option for the VF-1 toys. For the Alpha they probably went to 5K with a 5K option but chose to produce more of Scott since they knew demand was there. Something that taints the comparison though is the Aoshima release. That eliminated any chance of Toynami pulling the trigger on any additional MPC runs (though, given they performed poorly, I don't think it taints much). Toynami has also failed to pull the trigger on a refreshed MPC made without metal and the 1/60 Alpha they teased at SDCC 2017.... so, no love for New Gen either. Aw man, and I'd still like my Shadow Beta with Synchro cannon. Back to OP's point, if you're making 15 statues, the fact you can't sell 200 statues shouldn't really matter. The math problem there is that there are 100x times the fans of Macross and these companies are sweating getting preorders in on their super limited statues so, even though it seems like demand makes it a sure bet, from the other side of the fence there's just too much on the line. There's been a lot of talk about how HG and Tatsunoko are going to have a big falling out in a couple years. They've had some lawsuits and it doesn't seem like they have a very happy relationship. That has people excited. I'm not as optimistic. When you think about Tatsunoko currently getting paid for the rights to Super Dimensional Calvary Southern Cross by a company, when no one else would ever go near it, you start to see why this relationship has endured.
