  1. I think they look already bulkier on the CAD images compared to the previous YF-19. Since I don't have the previous iteration I can't say this for sure.
  2. Thanks for the review. The 50 shades of green look awesome but the more I see about the additional attachment pieces the more I'm dissatisfied with them. Especially for the gun-pod. It's confusing for me why they didn't adapt the awesome solution from the VF-25G for this plane. Maybe they forgot and hat to add a quick fix (like the part that keeps the legs together in the Armored Messiah configuration). For the shield it could be as simple as a slider on the forearms for the ELINT-fin. I know that the fin wouldn't sit line art accurate on the arm know but I'm pretty sure that in the 3d model of the RVF-25 they just jammed the shield into the fin without thinking about it. Oh well enough ranting for today maybe the solutions make a little bit more sense when I have the Valk in hand.
  3. Hehe, reminds me of my MP Rodimus who I had for 6 month until I was able to get him to alt mode. Those damn feet.
  4. The VF-25S and VF-25G contain soft PVC head lasers as well as a set of hard plastic ones. The PVC lasers can be bent but not as bad as the ones on the V1s. The RVF-25 has only hard plastic lasers and the VF-25F only soft ones.
  5. I agree but since I don't collect the Zero line and have an unfinished Macross 7 collection my wishes for 2014 are different (VF-1J Milia 2045 *cough*). Maybe if the prices for old Yamato Valkyries are declining I might be able to snag a VF-11C at or below MSRP. Frankly this toy needs only a reissue and not a renewal since it is pretty good (minus the tail fins).
  6. They are all long gone. But if the trend of available DX Chogokin Valkyries continues then you might be able to pick one up after release. Also on these scans from Figure Oh the plane seems to have the same maroon color then the first release and not the darker red shown before. In addition the Lucifer seems to be insecure about his affiliation so he tattooed his squadron name all over his body.
  7. Still the same dark plastic on the armor plates. Not to keen about that. Does someone know what the text says?
  8. I suppose it is not possible to store the part in Fighter-Mode between the arms like a piece that pegs both arms together due to the lack of space.
  9. Is there any reason other than saving a tiny bit of plastic for doing this? I'm thinking of something like the RVF-25 would bump into something. In other words does Lucas Messiah fit on the older versions of the Renewal toys?
  10. Well if it is a transformable toy (and I think it is save to assume that it is) then the CAD-picture of the Battroid-Mode show already differences to the original so I think it's save to say that this is a new mold. Of course there is always the possibility that they will reuse some parts (like the shoulder pauldrons).
  11. I keep you updated if mine arrives. It is already in my country, so ten more days and it should leave customs.
  12. I kinda like the stands. they look only half bad (speaking of the painted SMS bases) and do their job well. Of course they are no such things like the stands Bandai included with stuff like the Gundam Metal Build line (I saw a review about the Gundam 00 Rizer Metal Build mech and I was stunned how much thought went into that toy) or are as flexible as the flightpose ones (I would prefer a stand that doesn't damage the paint on my toy).... ...they are decent I guess and in my opinion a huge NUNS or Macross Galaxy logo would really make them pop. As far as the Rise of Arcadia goes I hope they reissue their launch arm stand.
  13. Well they are all special snowflakes now because Yamato doesn't exist anymore. If Arcadia hasn't any plans for re-releasing their old products I'm sure that prices will increase again. Still hoping for a reissue of the VF-11C and the rest of the Macross Plus line when they release the YF-19 V3 in 2014.
  14. I thought the problem was that the swing bar on the VF-25G goes through the free space in the lower arms that is blocked by the fin on the RVF-25. I just checked on my VF-25G and the bar goes through the shoulder area so it is really a bummer that they have to include the adapter pieces.
  15. The previous release of the YF-19 Super Parts included Yang as a second pilot as well as a second seat for the toy. How are the chances that this feature will be on the new YF-19 from the get-go?
  16. So it seems like we are getting the same stand that came with the VF-171 Valkyries. That is a bummer I really would liked to get a Macross Galaxy logo stand (and one with a NUNS logo on it). Also the darker maroon stripe on the hip-thingys is still missing. I like the pictures so far but I'm hoping that the gun on the released toy can stay better together than the one in the images. I guess thats a QC issue. I know I sound somewhat unsatisfied but I still like the toy and other than the unstable gun (something I disliked on the original toy as well) they are just nitpicks. I'm definitely looking forward to August
  17. Seeing how popular hero and how unpopular CF units are in Japan why would Bandai announce this before the VF-25S reissue?
  18. If they release the Super Parts for the CF version will Bandai include all the parts or only the leg armor and the booster like seen ins some shots in the show. Don't know if I will buy this one. I think I cannot justify another VF-25 when I already have 4 in my collection especially since this will look almost the same as the VF-25G. Then again I preordered the Super Parts for Michael and Luca so I wont have a plain VF-25 in my collection but then if they release the Super Parts for the VF-25A I think they would pretty neat but then I don't have a plain VF-25 anymore.... *insert vicious circle here* ..the VF-25 line from Bandai quickly becomes the VF-1 Line from Yamato/Arcadia. I guess the YF-25 Prophecy will be next right?
  19. OMG. I guess Graham will buy the living hell out of this variant. Seems like Bandai doesn't want to show us the head in all its glory since it is similar but not identical to the VF-25G head if my memory serves me correctly. Also it seems like this is unit 27 does we know anything about who the plane belongs to? If this is official I wonder why Bandai would make this toy since neither the VF-171CF nor the RVF-25 seems to sell very well. On the other hand this would indicate that those two Valkyries sold well and Bandai ramped up their production runs. Or they just interpret their numbers wrong.
  20. That is a cool setup Benson! I will try to achieve something similar for myself if Arcadia decides to reissue/redo all their toys since I'm only having a (incomplete) Macross 7 and Frontier collection.
  21. Thank you that is nice to hear. On the other hand that means that I have to be extra careful transforming it so that the head antennas don't get caught and break. That leaves my VF-25F and the YF-29 as the two Frontier Valkyries that have soft head lasers that will probably get a terrible yellow tint that wont match the yellow tint on the mech itself. [edit: ] With the knife connector piece you mean the spacer that plugs into the shield so it can connect to the arm without interfering with the ELINT-fin right? I just realized there was a third extra piece myself. I'm not happy about it but I guess there was now easy way to achieve this without some major redesign of the parts. Does this part can stay attached in Fighter-Mode without looking terribly wrong and allowing the fin to swing backwards all the way? I have to say the RVF-25 seems to be the weakest of the gang since it as so many trade-offs to get everything working. I wonder if Bandai know from the beginning that the ELINT design would cause problems and opted for the cheapest way out or if the designed the Renewals only with the F and S in mind not knowing if they would sell enough to make a G and ELINT version. The gun connector device on the VF-25G works so well so why not include something fancy on the RVF-25. This is not a deal breaker in any way since I planned to leave the gun-pod in the box from the beginning and I can live with the shield connector bit if it can stay on the Valkyrie in ever mode but it leaves me a bit worried about the Super VF-27 thinking about all the compromises they have to make to get the original design to work with all the improvements on the Renewals and be able to wear the Super Parts at the same time. Only time will tell I guess.
  22. That is the only responsible way to do it. Since my RVF-25 shipped this week does can someone tell me what material the "head lasers" (on the RVF-25 they are probably antennas) are mode of. And if they are made out of PVC did Bandai include some hard plastic ones? Can't wait for mine so I can swoosh around with my Skull Squadron.
  23. Seems like the Quarter from the most recent HLJ sale.
  24. The VF-19S/F included? I have to check mine when I'm at home.
  25. Looking at the CAD pictures it seems like the gun-pod is slightly enlarged and the gap between the nose cone and the chest is still there. So what other changes can we expect from V3 of the YF-21. The obvious suspects are the improvements from the VF-19 line minus the ankles (I do think that the YF-/VF-19 has a good looking Gerwalk-Mode if you can get the legs far enough to the front of the plane). More line-art accuracy without the gullet seems to be an easy choice but other than that I can't think of anything else. Also the image shows the Fighter-Mode of the Valkyrie with closed intake covers. Does that mean that the covers will also be not removable. I'm eagerly awaiting more information about this beauty form Arcadia.
