  1. There is a Sweets & Bikini Version mentioned in the tweets. Does this mean we get VF-1 dressed up with an over sized Meldrandi bikini?
  2. If you're referring to my post I apologize if I offended you. What I was trying to say is that in my own experience I have many transforming toys where I have problems transforming it the first couple of times (say the first 5 to 10 attempts). After I memorized the correct movement and position of parts it becomes easier. Also I get a feeling of how much pressure and force I can apply to certain areas without breaking them. The first time I tried to transform my First Edition Bumblebee back and forth I had a hard time now I can do it in no time and that is a toy made to be handled by kids. And to be honest during the first transformation of the CF I was swearing a lot about the cockpit support strut, the loose hip assembly and the backplate that refused to lock correctly into place. I had watched transformation guides on YT a million times and tried to memorize crucial parts of the transformation. I thought I know exactly what to do and I was wrong. Of course the toys that we collect are a whole other world then mainstream toys you can buy at TRU. My Valkyries don't get nearly as much play time then other toys mainly because the fear of breakage. I myself have problems when I transform a complex toy once every month or even more infrequent. I don't get used to it. Not saying you don't know how to transform your toys just saying that for me it gets easier after several transformations and that complex transformations is one of the trade-offs of highly articulated and screen accurate toys. A convoluted transformation scheme like the one from the VF-171 doesn't become suddenly straight forward but you get used to its quirks. I also can understand why someone doesn't like the toy because of this.
  3. The 25th is the release date but also Saturday. I assume they start shipping on the Monday after. Can't wait though! In my opinion the Anniversary Super Parts look way better then the Alto ones. Mainly because I think the purple thrusters on Altos VF look out of place. In my soul there is still a spark of hope that they are not shipping the Super Parts with the white skull markings. I also gave up on the idea of modding the dorsal fins with Skull and Crossbones because even after I trimmed the Stickers for my VF-17S they still look terrible and those skulls are no triangles or circles.
  4. OT: Can't resist to ask if you know what The Old Republic ship they're planning to release. Sorry Mods
  5. Is Lego releasing something special in the Star Wars line? I'm still hoping for a reissue of this Millenium Falcon that is in scale with the Minifigs. On topic: What is a good price for a VF-22S Max Type at the moment? I saw one on Mandarake but I never ordered from them so I don't know what to expect. I know that they sell second hand toys.
  6. I know the word awesome is overused but this looks definitely... quite good. Duymon transform your army and wage Variable Fighter war against lesser toys!
  7. Certainly true and companies don't move if the customer doesn't forward complaints. On the other hand I personally think that the VF-171 is not as bad as this thread makes it and I'm a thousand times happier with a complex transformation that is more then flip out legs flip out arms flip up and turn head finished is your transformer (yay). I also think that Bandai is hitting it out of the park with the Frontier line. Sure the distribution sucks (still good enough for us dirty gaijin ) but other than that the toys are fantastic.
  8. I don't know why everyone has such a bad time transforming it. Modern Valkyires can be transformed in a breeze. Sure parts fly of left and right and sometimes even crack of or disintegrate but that's ok, I just threw them in the trash bin and grab another one from the dispenser. Seriously sure some parts of the VF-171 are hard to transform at first but if you get used to it and know how parts have to be moved you're fine. As a kid I always dreamed about complex transformations and that my transforming toys look like in the cartoon/comic. Now that we are at a point where we can have screen accuracy were bitching about transformation schemes. To a point you can't have the one without the other. Could it be better? Yes! If you look at the VF-17 from Yamato. But this toy has it's own set of problems where the Bandai toy shines so it boils down to a trade off. I love my VF-17 but somethings of this mold could be done better and it is the same with the VF-171. My advice. Take your time, learn the transformation scheme and enjoy the toy while playing with it. It will fall apart soon enough.

    Macross figures

Are we talking about the SDF Exedore or the DYRL? one?
  10. Since I preordered the Super VF-27 from HLJ I just added the three GN-U Macross Plus toys to the order. Now I have something to keep my fingers busy buying frenzy so far: 1/60 VF-19S 1/60 VF-17S GN-U YF-19 GN-U YF-21 GN-u VF-11B
  11. Bad luck I guess but NY has still some units available. So is this cannon fodder a shelf warmer or not?
  12. Noooooo they should release the Renewal Tornado Parts for the G first!
  13. They should do the VF-1J Miria Custom from Macross 7. Or at least include some black stickers to mod the wings if they reissue the SDF one.
  14. I think NY will give you at least a refund so you could a new unit from amiami. I think you have to pay shipping it back to Japan. So you can estimate what the expanses are to get a new one. Maybe NY sends you a replacement unit since they are still available but shipping it back will be at your own expense and that can be very pricey if you choose the wrong service from what I heard here on the board. Hope NY acts fast so that you can secure another one while they are still available if you want this toy. Good luck.
  15. Poor GN-U Dous Yamato is no longer and they still are available at a high discount at HLJ. I wonder if I should buy those. On the one hand I have no room for them but then for 6 bucks I could take them to my work place so I have something there to do.
  16. Great job as always MacrossJunkie! I envy you. Good luck on the NY one.
  17. Seems like we have reached a price ceiling for this toy.
  18. You could check out jenius' awesome page about Macross toys. http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=6244 Or check Macross Worlds own toy achive http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/takatoku.htm
  19. It would be preferable if all collector toys are purely assembled with detachable connections like screws or to an extend pins because then you as the owner can disassemble the toy for repair/maintenance easily. Unfortunately those connections require a certain material thickness like the screw thread to be give a save connection or a certain size so it can be assemble with human hands (pin or screw head diameter). Also small details like lenses or transparent parts need to be glued because a screw or a clip is not viable. Plus it's cheaper to glue something because metal for screws. pins and tools is expensive. So for some parts gluing is the only option. I don't know a complex toy that doesn't require gluing when assembled in a factory.
  20. It would be a great help if you could actually buy the launch arm stands for MSRP. But since Yamato is no longer all hope is lost. Maybe Arcadia picks the designs up if they start with their Valkyrie production once again. The stand design does not have to be fancy for my tastes. For example I really like the Bandai stands for the Renewals. They are easy modifiable, do a good job holding the Valkyrie and you don't need to fiddle with your toy to attach them. As a plus they have a nicely designed and painted base. The only thing that would be extra nice is a label that describe what is displayed on the stand.
  21. Thank god Macross is not Transformers. *shutter*
  22. The No Step markings on the underside of the wing are there because the are present on the cg-model. For reference see the Macross Mecha ManualĀ® (http://www.macross2.net/m3/m3.html) Regarding the Super Parts for the VF-171CF (and I know it's in vain) I'm still hoping that we get the correct color from The Wings of Goodbye.
  23. But what's with that priest collar of the 1/60 VF-1s? *adds fuel to the fire*
  24. I'm not sure about that. At my work there is a SAP tool that works correctly only when accessed through the Internet Explorer. However that has nothing to do with the VF-27.
  25. I noticed that the right leg on my CF makes this nasty snap while rotating it back for Fighter-Mode. It's the same thing as Veef showed in his review of the VF-171EX Alto Custom. Is this something to worry about? Can I take the leg apart and fix something? Or am I doing something wrong while transforming? The other leg seems fine though.
